  1. Any improvement on the shoulder hinges with the new VF-1A?

    I don't have hinges problem with the 1S, so I can't tell.

Few things I notice from my 1A:

    1. All shoulder and elbow are not at tight as the 1S, I do not mean joins loose anyhow, it has right amount of fiction which make you less worry about the shoulder hinge, also making posing a bit easier.
    2. Canopy coating is slighty different, this time it is more on the purple side, coating on my 1S looks more like Oakley's emerald and has more reflection.
    3. No crooked skull, the 1S I got has crooked 1 or 2 degree one of the tail fin, actually I didn't notice it until member point it out.

    ^_^

  2. Right, that was my point as well. With the nose section removeable, they could have easily lengthened the upper half to extend into the chest plate more. The upper half of the nose section and the chest plate have to be a different mold from the 1-seaters regardless, so it's not like it would be more complex or costly to manufacture.

but then there will be lesser room for the heatshield... also the extended part will sit higher in battroid mode since even for the 1S it is not entirely covered by the chest plate.

  3. well this is what the Hasegawa VF-1D Canopy/Nose section looks like

    post-515-1218008259_thumb.jpg

I compared the Hasegawa pic to the lineart I have in my Pefect Memory book and the Hasegawa actually looks a little too long to me

I think the VT-1 And VE-1 are the same but the 1D is different. The VT and VE have the rear seat elevated a bit while on the 1D they are the same level.

    Thanks for feedback!!

By looking at the 1D v2 pic and the 1S v2, looks like Yamato has extended the bottom part of canopy a bit while keeping the nose cone length unchanged.

There are room for the skull embel on the 1S, but on 1D, the canopy has occupied those spaces.

  4. does anyone have any news if this has made its way into HK stores? does it look like it might sell out? i cancelled my pre-order when a trip came up and was hoping to get mine from there when i transit in a few weeks.

HK and Japan has them for sale on the same day, I got mine on 19th July, and accroding to toydaily, I think they are now sold out everywhere, so I suggest you to keep your pre-order.

  5. Swoosh - are you not locking the chest plate down all the way? Makes the too-high head actually look OK.

I'm totally stoked about being able to strike a proper DYRL end pose. Those pics are a wet dream :D

Yes, I did lock the chest plate down all the way, otherwise you will see reflection leaking from the rainbow canopy.

I never think the head is too high, but I agreed that if it sit somewhere between 1/48 and 1/60 v2 would be perfect.

  6. Hey swoosh man, o legend displayer, can one ask for the Boldoza Asassination pose please??? :D

(you know, gunpod, head lasers and Strike all pointed at mucky mess.) That's my dream pose. But i won't be able to do it for like another 6 months (no v.2 1/60 Hik 1S)

Here we go!! This is the first time I took the fixed pose hands out

Isn't the sensor above the visor supposed to be red? And it looks like two different shades of yellow are being used on Graham's sample. One shade for the head and shoulder arrows and a darker shade for the chest.

It is red on the production version, check my pic in page 5...

  8. Addition: Oh crap, I noticed that it has that stupid peg system from the 1/48 for where the legs go into the nose area for battroid. I thought it was going to have it be like the VF-0. Looks like I'll be needing tweezers for when I get the eventual VF-1A DYRL Max.

No, you don't a tweezers as long as there are some gravity around you.... :p
