  1. I kinda like the coloring just not the way they did the faces haha...

I recently did a portrait of the zentradi trio for a friends birthday

it was my first attempt at painting them too

    hope ya like

Holy... That's actually a very nicely colored piece! I like how you used a cap and improved it with realistic colors and lights. :)

    Here...

    Fresh from Daanboruu....

    Delicious Sivil...

  2. I'm very glad the site got a new adress and the downtime was short.

Btw, don't want to be a bother here Mr. March but could you add the Queadluun-Nona from the Macross Do You Remember Love? 90s videogame to the Games & Advanced section sometime in the future? It's an excellent Zentradi/Meltrandi design by Miyatake Kazutaka... B))

  3. Y'know, I never really realized just how ugly Macross II destroids were until now...

Destroids are supposed to look ugly, like most real world tanks do these days...

I find the Macross II destroid designs great and very very cool looking. In fact, I'm convinced the Cheyenne and Cheyenne II designs were influenced by them... B))

  4. Looking specifically at anime, which mecha do you think is a truly hideous sight to see?

My vote goes to the New GodPhoenix from Gatchaman II. Not exactly mecha in the purest sense of the term, it is still one of the ugliest pieces of hardware ever seen, especially when compared to its iconic predecessor from the original Gatchaman series.

To be fair though, most of the designs in Gatchaman II were absolute garbage.

    Taksraven

LOL... Bet you haven't seen Gatchaman F... The ship there was a freaking Star Destroyed ripoff...

The New GodPhoenix from Gatchaman II doesn't look that bad after watching the one from F...

  5. The NUNS logo is probably just a new twist on the old UN Spacy kite.

It looks like a stylized "U", with the two arms crossing each other

It also looks like a slightly rotated and rounded image of the Zentradi symbol from the first series a lot...

  6. Well, since the Daedalus attack is made with one of the "hands" of a Macross type space fortress... And since mass produced versions of the SDF-1 "Macross" (like the SDFN-4 "Global") had ARMD carriers as hands... I think there could be a variation of the Daedalus attack where the ARMD carrier is launched from the space fortress arm while in "Storm attacker" mode... WHY NOT?

  7. I've started spot translations of the Timeline pages of Macross Chronicle, and I've noticed a change in the use of 統合 (UN) to統合 (NUN) at an unexpected point. By expected, I mean post VF-X2, and pre-MF.

I thought the U.N. Spacy became the New U.N. Spacy since the end of Space War I...

  8. Eriku... I think it was you... but you were 100% correct about the sex scene... It's a good thinng they decided to cut that out.

Holy... Xenophilia in a James Cameron film? Must see...!!!

Well... jokes aside... I liked Avatar, but still can't understand how so many people think is the best Science Fiction ever made. It was good, but not that super duper good... The Na'Vi looked fake as hell...

Btw... I hope they include Michael Biehn in any of the sequels...

  9. I never saw any Itano Circus in the orginal MSG. Never saw the compilation movies though (if that's what you're refering to, then I may be wrong). I believe Space Runaway Ideon was the first time he used the technique, but Macross is what made it popular.

Itano worked in Gundam and Ideon?

  10. Kawamori directed all the dog fight sequences for the Valks, since the senior directors on both SDFM and DYRL. He knew best how to utilize the combat abilities of the variable fighter it seemed.

Yeah, but Itano is the one who invented the circus... Kawamori was the expert in the transforming sequences, the action sequences were the work of Itano...
