I believe I may have used the wrong term... I was refering to their energy source all along. The Vajra must be Reaction-energy powered to have such powerful weaponry... (the cannon of the large one & the nose of the small ones).

Why not...? The Vajra could very well be reaction-energy powered... (that could explain their greaaat power...).

I used to hate Macross 7 at first. But after watching it entirely (including the OVAS) I like it. It made clear lots of doubts & questions I had since I watched Macross Zero. I understood the original Macross, DYRL & Zero better after watching it. It kinda fits perfectly with the whole Macross continuity (I still don't like the poppy songs that much though...). I believe that, by now, the Macross Frontier anime has made clear this facts: 1) The Vajra are an artificial lifeform. 2) The Vajra are resilient. 3) The Vajra are fast. 4) The Vajra have reaction weaponry. 5) Human energy knifes & Zentraedi energy ranged weapons (at close range) work better against them. 6) The Vajra can detect Ranka Lee's singing & are attracted by it. 7) The Vajra are after Ranka Lee (& want to kill her apparently). The Macross Frontier Fleet is just collateral damage to them (like Ranka's family was 11 years ago). If they wanted to destroy the Frontier fleet right away, they would have did so since episode 1. 9) Ranka Lee is not Ozma's sister. 10) Ranka Lee is a quarter Zentradi.

The Vajra seem to NOTICE sound energy, & are not affected by it. That's why they are perfect to search & destroy Anima Spiritia. The Supervision Army had Zentradi & Protoculture on their ranks, so I believe the last ones created the VAJRA as a space bound lifeform powerful enough to search the galaxy for the main treat to the Protodeviln & kill them. They must have been genetically programmed to do so, that's why they are still working despite the fact the Protodeviln left this galaxy (as seen in M7) & the Supervision Army is no more (apparently). The Vajra must have been around for thousands of years since the Zentradi mecha & weaponry seem more fit to fight them. The energy/reaction weaponry & fast mecha (like the Q-Rau) of the Zentradi perhaps were created specifically to deal with the Vajra. They want to kill Ranka, since in episode 2 the small Vajra shot its beam cannon towards Alto/Ranka when they were in the VF-25 (if it wanted to capture her it wouldn't have shot at them). The red Large Vajra didn't kill Ranka right away because it didn't had to. It just took its time because it thought that there weren't any treats left after crushing Gilliam. When I said earlier that Ranka & Sheryl were ANIMA SPIRITIA was because it was an adjective used in Macross 7 to name people/protoculture capable of using Sound Energy to Increase Spiritia in others. Macross Frontier & Macross Zero relate a lot to Seven. DYRL also showed that the Protoculture used music, since the main ending theme (Ai Oboetei Imasuka) is supposed to be an ancient Protoculture song... Is all in the music baby! Btw... Did anybody here noticed that the Vajra drawing in the S.M.S. bar looked like it was made by a 4 year old? Perhaps Ranka did it...

If u hated the moe that much, then u r going to kill yourself after the next one, heh... (that is, if the story develops just like that of the manga, hehehe). Btw, after watching this episode I just came to this conclusion: Whaddya think?

The Protoculture building that appeared in Macross 7 had a force field. Protodeviln could also generate force fields by themselves...

Hehehe... Thanks. I chose Tommy "Tiny" Lister for Dolza/Bodolza because he played the Earth president in "The Fifth Element"... I liked his acting there, hehehe... Btw... I just watched episode 4 of Macross Frontier & I noticed that the helmets of the pilots of the female power armors are elongated in the back like a helmet design I did in the . I never watched that design before. I did mine like 2 & a half weeks ago. What a hell of a coincidence!!!!

Hehehe, same here. However, I should add something I noticed in the first episode. Gilliam got rid of his armor to reach the Vajra faster... So, I conclude that while the Armored VF-25 can fly in gravity it must make the fighter slower... Now some Vajra comments... I re-watched Macross: Zero some days ago & I found several connections between the "Vajra mecha" & the "Birdman"... First, the "spiral" symbols. Second, the overall destructive power & speed of the "mecha" (however, it is described as a life form in the official site). Three, the mecha's organic/biomechanical nature... (however, the Birdman seemed like a sentient intelligent machine, while all the Vajra behave more like a pack of animals... The Wardogs of the Protoculture perhaps?). Fourth, their use. The Birdman seemed to be programmed to attack/destroy hostile or belligerent humans. Perhaps the Vajra were created by the Protoculture to attack any beings that resemble the Zentradi? Maybe they are keeping anything from entering Protoculture Space (The Center of the Galaxy?). Fifth, the way they were stopped. If u remember Zero, the Birdman was found with its head cut off. Ozma stopped the first large Vajra stabbing its head (chopped it off in the manga)...

Me too, hehehe... Hehehe... I kinda thought of that. However, I really wanted to show primitive looking Destroids in the flick. I envisioned very primitive looking mecha for the Earthlings (while the valkyries should look the more advanced of all... they are the stars of the movie, hehe). They should have more grayish, metallic colors (with red, green, yellow, white or blue squad markings/lines), with lots of tags/symbols/serial numbers & logos on them... (camo too!). I made the tank to resemble a real world advanced tank, with reactive armor on it... it has projectile weapons only... The big cannon is actually a rail gun, not an energy weapon... (in fact, the earth side should have only projectile weapons in their mechas... energy weaponry should be only in the big ships). Alien mecha should look menacing, very advanced (almost organic), with more curved lines & with lots of red marks/lights & organic textures &/or colors... (black, purple, green). with energy weapons mostly (& Itano circus advanced missiles!).

I am begining to believe it could very well be a combination of both. I just had this idea... Imagine if, years back, when still in NUNS, his squadron answered a distress call from a civilian space station/ship being attacked by the VAJRA. He managed to save baby Ranka only (perhaps he was in the escape pod with her). He watched his whole squadron & the civilian station/ship (with Ranka parents onboard) being destroyed by the VAJRA... For me that would be the only logical explanation for such hatred & desire for revenge... Add to that a post-war veteran addiction to conflict & u got Ozma...

Ozma's "tasting" the Vajra's death didn't seem that normal to me. I mean... He reacted with sadism... It was like he really really enjoyed killing it... Either he just plain hates them to death & wants them exterminated or he is a war psycho. The problem with that type of person is that they don't care for anything but for their enemies destruction. He is an excellent fearless warrior, but that lack of fear may be his undoing in the end... Roy Fokker wasn't anything like that at all... Btw... The trucks loading the remains of the Vajra were from NUNS or SMS? Maybe it was the same kind of energy the Vajra use. Both the large & small types had green lights on them... In fact, when the large one was killed by Ozma, green sparks of energy came out of its wound...

Come on... & Macross Zero?

Thank you, hehe... I like both Robotech & Macross equally, hehe. I think these designs could work for both, hehehe. Shoji Kawamori, Kazutaka Miyatake, Ralph Mcquarrie & Syd Mead are my main influences, hehe...

Actually it was a vision of the future like the ones Sara & Mao Nome had in Macross Zero. She saw Ozma being killed by the Vajra in her nightmares. That's why she didn't want him to fly anymore. I guess Ozma is going to die later & Alto is going to inherit his VF-25 (another Macross tribute). My best bet is that Ranka & Sheryl are natural sisters & Ozma is Ranka's adoptive brother. Maybe they are both descendants to Mao Nome... (Sheryl knows French, & Mayans spoke that language. Sara's chant in Macross Zero had French in it). Btw... The captain at S.M.S. looked a lot like a scar-faced version of Gloval. An older Hikaru Ichijo perhaps? The sole survivor of the Megaroad?
