At least in the case of the Frontier-specific elements of NUNS, maybe once the Vajra threat was confirmed its heads figured "Okaaaay...we need to start rolling out heavier weaponry for our folks if we've got stuff like that coming at us. Hey, SMS guys, can we borrow those VF-25 designs for a minute? Thanks...start the assembly line, Shinobu!" As for the Galaxy-side folks...that probably depends on how hosed the Galaxy fleet is, I guess.

Can't even find the first ADV disc for below $28 with a cursory check...though I suppose it's academic now, since I jumped on that deal for the AnimEigo set. I'll just have to skip through Macross: The Complete a few times for my Mari fix.

That summary definitely isn't blowing my proverbial skirt up.

As previously said: if nothing else, Macross II had a nice soundtrack.

Hey, I want to be optimistic. But I just can't pull it off in this case. If BV can't directly release Macross Frontier as, well, Macross Frontier without going through a third party--in this case HG--in North America, I just don't see them spending time worrying about it unless they get a near-epic deluge of requests for it. And by extension Bandai Visual Japan might not bother with worrying about subtitling it for a market they'll only sell a comparative trickle of items in unless Bandai Visual USA forwards that same near-epic deluge to home base. But, hell--maybe they'll surprise us all and do something further out than we can safely see (end of year-ish).

But, damn, at $40 that's right up my alley. (Yes, I don't have the unedited Macross in any form.) Serious question, therefore: what exactly did ADV throw in when they released their set of this? (Apart from the dub, and I think the only reason I'd want that would be for Mari Iijima...)

Unless someone actually licenses MacF for North America (and/or maybe Europe) in the next few weeks, the odds on these particular BDs having English subs are pretty damn low. Not zero, but very close. Which is a shame, but there you go.
