  1. Sentinels.

yeah, it's Robotech, but the only reason I watched the damn thing was because at that time I watched anything that had ANYTHING to do with Macross. Ugh. And every now and then, while watching macross, i would have involuntary flashes of minmei singing with an android for a wedding... Kill me, please.

    But strictly within macross?

Hmm... now I find the knife fight terrible, but watching it as a kid, and seeing max fight with his crush who also happens to be a zentraedi ace... hell, what animation problems??

So I guess my real worse macross moment would be Pedro, for being annoying and for the biggest c**kblock in history. :p

  2. One year!! I have to wait almost one frickin year for this joyride to continue. arggg! :(

I liked the last episode, although it's not my favorite among the bunch. Ep5 was more like the climax, and ep6 was one big denoument. But still a pretty good one, in my opinion. Fantastic series altogether, and a good starting point for the new season. (at least it didn't end at a terrible cliffhanger. A one year wait with that ending would have been more brutal.)

As for the whisper, I have a feeling Darabont just put it there for now, and have yet to decide on what it will mean later on. Good luck to the new batch of writers.

But I doubt it's about the hopelessness of the situation; he pretty much said it to everyone already, so why bother whispering this to Rick? My theories: either a detail about another secure facility that they could go to, or maybe something about seeing footage of what Shane tried to do the night before ("Be careful about your buddy Shane" or something close to that).

  3. Anybody hear any casting news? I'm curious who the producers are going to pick to play Michonne.

Some posters on IMDB's forums were playing "Lets Cast The Walking Dead" and Gina Torres's name was thrown out there. I think she'd be a pretty good choice.

Danny Trejo for the Governor and i'm all good. :p

    Machete, machete...

  4. Last episode was amazing! I haven't seen zombie make-up that astounding since... well.. ever. great quality, great writing, letting the plot build up from one tension-filled scene to another. i am loving this series, and i will be depressed during the wait for the second season.

  5. Who doesn't love the token tsundere character? :p

I finished this series few days ago too. Not bad considering it doesn't take itself too seriously. But nothing great either.

Finished it over the weekend. The ending feels rushed, seeing as that the main premise was resolved in the last 3 eps (and the earlier eps felt like fillers to me). But still, it was a good enough ride. Worth watching, but you're right, nothing spectacular.

  6. Man, another amazing episode! even before the episode, I was already wondering if they were still going to include the "smell like zombies" strategy, coz if treated the wrong way, it could have come out as hilarious on tv. but hell, they made it work. bravo! :)

  7. You know, until someone mentioned it, I didn't even notice that Nanase was missing!

Plus, the movie also had me liking Ranka a lot more, even though I already liked her.

Poor girl, written off completely. jeez, she's probably the only one. even Canaria still had her say.

No wonder gubaba has been relatively quiet in this thread. :p

So I finally got to see the movie last night. I have a bad copy (or my PC couldn't handle the high def. it kept skipping at parts), so i'll reserve judgment until i get a better copy. but as a first impression, i liked it. is it possible to like Sheryl even more than in the series? I guess so! Irrational Sheryl Fanboy is back! :D

  8. Troll...

Exactly. For someone who doesn't give a damn about the genre, he sure likes to post a lot on the subject.

That being said, awesome AWESOME premiere! Even better than what I hoped for. And with the ratings bonanza that the first episode brought in, I think it's about time to greenlight season 2! :)

  9. Trivia time: Emma Stone is actually blonde. She dyed her hair for Superbad, and has been running with it ever since. And she can play the modest part good enough, she did it in The House Bunny.

Which leads us to the interesting situation of having an actress that could do both MJ and Gwen at the same time.

... damn, I wish they could cast her for both parts.

Yeah, I read the reports that she's a natural blonde. But from all i've seen her, she's a redhead. sheesh, i even tried googling for pics of her while she was still a blonde, and I couldn't find any. For all intents and purposes, her being a natural blonde is the same thing for me as the sound of one hand clapping. :p

But yeah, you're right, i'm sure if she's a good enough actress, she can pull of modest just fine. but still, as someone said, it feels like casting patrick stewart for magneto. sure, he can pull it of (he's patrick frickin stewart), but a part of you will always cry in anguish that he would have made the PERFECT prof X. hehe.

  10. Im glad its gwen, MJ has a small role in this film,If this spidey movie is 'Ultimate Spiderman' then the symbiote should play a large role,I saw casting rumours for eddie brocks father, which is 'Ultimate spidey' story line.

It's not the fact that Gwen has the major part in the movie that bothers me. I agree wholeheartedly that Gwen should be the main love interest (at least for the first movie). If she's there at all, MJ should have a very minimal impact on the movie.

What bothered me is that i've been seeing pictures of this actress who looks so perfect to play MJ (what with her red hair, green eyes, and fiery on-screen attitude), only to see her cast as the blonde and ever-demure Gwen Stacy.

  11. I liked the new season premiere. All those references to a "dark" side of clark made me wonder if they were gonna tease the villain for the rest of the season, when lo and behold, there he is in the last scene. throw subtlety out the window (not that there was much, to begin with), it's time to go all out, it is the last season after all.

  12. In the manga nothing happened at the temple. They didn't even kiss, which it's quite clear they did in the anime. So it all really depends in which way they wanna take it for season 2. I'm actually seeing a lot of parallels with Love Hina in the way they're building up the love triangle bit of the series. Saeko is Motoko Aoyama, the proud warrior who will ultimately not get the guy she likes because he (Keitaro/Takashi) made a promise to a girl he likes ages ago (Naru/Rei). Rei's character design even reminds of Naru Narusegawa. I hope I'm wrong and the directors make their own story out of it.

In any case my favourite bit is still Hirano going absolutely Otaku over any piece of weaponry that comes his way.

    Hirano rocks!

Well, in that case, I like the anime version of that scene better. makes for better drama.

On another note, I just finished watching Gantz (ok, no "did they or didn't they" questions there, huh?). It's the weirdest thing... the action is slow and frustrating, the characters are completely annoying and over-dramatic, and the story itself doesn't give much of a purpose... but I couldn't stop watching. it was like a train wreck I couldn't take my eyes off. So yeah, by all accounts, it's not something I should have liked, but I liked it.

Except for that pointless ending arc. Now I should start reading the manga to at least have an idea what the frack was going on.
