There was no shipping cost estimate available at the time that I ordered from HLJ. I selected standard shipping. From previous experiences with HLJ, shipping should not be near $100 for a $335 item. Unless someone has to absolutely have it overnight once it comes out.

They actually have the two main charaters, Ayumu and Haruna, play with the Arbalest Arm Slave model from Full Metal Panic. Haruna explains to the vampire girl (Sera) about the Lamda Drive system that Sousuke uses. Then to Ayumu's horror, Haruna accidentally breaks the model figure while flying it around. Both Ayumu and Haruna yells in shock.

I would never have thought Full Metal Panic would be mentioned in detail within Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka?

Ron, is that the 1/100 kit?

Yeah, it is the Bandai 1/100 model kit. Not a bad kit to put together, but it takes a lot of masking and paint of parts due to the way you have to put it together. I wish Bandai would just redesign this kit in 1/72 scale with modern fitting for the parts like their VF-25 kits. Also, I would like to have a regular kit without the fast pack.

To answer some questions and curiosities, here is how the September photo was done.

Easy math.

I took the background photo while flying over the Mojave desert in the morning and I took the VF-11 at around the same time of day facing similar direction for proper shadowing. Then crop and paste with some color adjustments and detail corrections. This is not too difficult, but it does take some planning to make it look realistic.

Ok.....hmmmm planning something special for the Moon Festival on September 30th. Check back then.

It looks like I would not be able to make it in time, as I will be in northern Japan. I was thinking of bring a couple of dioramas and posters. Oh well, maybe next year.

September 2012: VF-11B

Successor to the aging VF-4 Lightning.

Freezing- Three episodes in and I want to kill the main guy. Seriously all he has done so far is cause Satellizer to lose her tournament, get her into more trouble forcing her to fight while recovering from injury, nearly sexually assaulted/raped, and above all else he keeps grabbing her arm trying to force his apology on her. This is after he was repeatedly warned not to touch her, not by just the school president, other students, but even by Satellizer herself! But he's like "Yeah b****, I grabbed your arm! Now accept my apology! You remind me of my sister! Do Me!" Dude just leave the poor girl alone you're destroying her life...

That Kazuya boy just did not get Satellizer's hints to stop touching her. It does get better later on, but there is an overdose of fan service that almost gets in the way of the story. The fights do get more vicious later on with girl dramas. The real battle for survival comes in the last 2 episodes when those Nova things show up all over the place.

All I have to say is this is some funny awkward stuff because of Ayumu's idiotic actions.

A few more photos of the VF-19 next to the Yamato 1/48 VF-1. This gives a good comparison in size between the VF-1 and VF-19. Any bigger and the Excalibur VF-19 will have problems squeezing into the display.

Just completed Hasegawa 1/48 VF-19. This is a fairly big kit with lots of details. The fitting of the parts could be better, but that would drive up the cost of the kit.

This is painted in medium naval gray with mild weathering.

The price is not as high as I thought it would be for such a limited item. I have seen some crazy prices on eBay for Mospeada/Robotech items.

Shuffle....a good anime but got weird in the second half. What started as a light-hearted romantic comedy turns into a dramatic tragedy then back to a comedy. A rollercoaster ride alright...

The color scheme is really nice, better than any recent Yamato VF releases. With that said, the price of admission is going to be high before any shipping fees.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have prepared my wallet to get cratered near December for one of these.... (Runs and hides in fetal position)
