  1. I am neutral on Mac7. But the battle scenes are a bit silly and footages repeated too many times. It felt like spam at that point.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Macross Zero has the best combat scenes of the Macross series. Your jaw drops to the floor when Roy's VF-0S first swoops over Shin and Sara and switches to battloid mode. You are like..."F****n awesome!"

  2. I did not know there was a paint issue with Ozma's VF-25S in the renewal series. The paint on the renewal version seem better than my original 1.0 valk. Since I rarely transform these valks, paint coming off might not be much of an issue.

  3. Heh, that is true. Gundam is known to hold a grudge. Poor Flay Allster hid in her room for 40 something episodes, after sleeping with Kira. Didn't save her either.

But Mu La Flaga came back from the dead after getting blasted head on trying to shield Archangel in Gundam Seed. So anything is possible.

  4. New Viper looks good in a Ferrari FF kinda way in the front. But those LED driving lights should be stacked a bit more simplier than large L shapes. More car manufacturers are using LED driving lights in more complicated shapes and layouts. It would not be too long before the lights form words or logos on the hood of cars.

  5. How did an HLJ sale topic discussion get hijacked into a Mac7 one? Haha...

Macross 7 targeted a younger audience and the story did not pick up until Episode 21 or around there. Macross Plus debuted around the same period but it targeted an older crowd with a story that is more serious and mature. Also the action sequences in Mac Plus were more intense and complicated. So the Macross franchise covered all age groups using two separate Macross series in the mid 1990s. Either way, we got to see how differently Dyson and Basara handled the same model VF-19 in combat.

  6. Just started watching Ergo Proxy. Pretty interesting but very boring as well.

What do you guys think? Is it worth watching the whole thing???

Ergo Proxy was a bit confusing. They never really explained who or what Vincent really is and what he can do. Reeal was cold to him at first but things change a bit later on. Within this whole story, Pino was the guiding light for the group and was my favorite character in the show. But that is just my impression after watching it last year.

  7. hmmm... might have missed that episode. which one was it? or at least what story arc? > :)

I believe it was in Fairy Tail: Episode 41 when Erza, Natsu, Lucy and Grey returned to Magnolia to find their Fairy Tail guild hall completely rebuilt and upgraded with a gift shop. It is there that Lucy found a Lucy action figure with clothes that can pop off. She freaked out when the shop keeper said it was their best selling item. Hahaha...I want one too.... :D

  8. hi ron.. nice wethering.. care to share the technique?

Ok...this was how it was weathered.

    1) Wipe clean with alcohol of all residue off the valk once out of the box.

    2) Mask the canopy and other clear glass parts.

    3) Spray a light coating of dull coat (Model Master or Tamiya) on all surfaces.

    4) Use Gundam Panel Pencil to trace all panel lines and indentations.

    5) Use Tamiya Weather Kit and lightly applied "soot" over panel lines with cotton Q-tips.

    6) Re-spray a light layer of dull coat to seal everything in so it would not smudge with normal handling.

The reason to spray a light dull coat before adding panels or weather is to allow the weathering to stick better on the surface. The surfaces on a valk right out of the box is too smooth for weathering to be applied.

Ozma never destroyed his VF-25S throughout the show, so it probably has a lot more weathering and battle scars than Alto's.

    Hope this helps.

  9. Hey I noticed you're using flightpose stands. Have you had any issues with the rubber tips leaving marks or anything on painted surfaces? I just recently bought a few but I don't want to experience any problems with the paint job. The undersides of the 25S you have it mounted on are painted.

So far no issues with any valks. Alto's VF-25F has been sitting on the newer 4" Flightpose display for a year now with no residue marks. My older 2.5" display stands have no issues with the Yamato Vf-1s.

I have a 1/72 Millennium Falcon sitting on a 2.5" Flexistand for years with no issues as well.

  10. Other noticeable differences are:

    Moveable fingers.

Improved gunpod with actual ventilation holes and not just black indented marks.

Overall, the Renewal version weights about the same but with a flatter profile and the gunpod does not require a separate bracket to be attached to the belly.

Also note the VF-25S has a two seat capability. It also comes with its own SMS display stand. ;)
