  1. I guess you guys didn't watch the Total Recall TV series? It was less Total Recall and more Philip K. Dick's Greatest Hits: The TV Show, but that was fine with me. It was cool.
  2. More like the company that created it collapsed more than ten years ago.
  3. It's a doujinshi but managed to get pictures from the canned Megazone TV show and what looks like an interview with Ishiguro Noboru? I'd love to buy a copy, that's for sure.
  4. Cool, I'm glad you enjoyed it! You can get the ADV Megazone 23 complete collection sets (now in a regular single DVD case size) for pretty cheap. I've seen it for like 10 bucks at Fry's Electronics and places like that. I get it. You all hate Zuey. Yeah, Hellbunny is my ex-girlfriend. I was with her for six years and have not spoken to her in four years. Not happening.
  5. Yeah, we actually reviewed that nearly a year ago: http://www.collectiondx.com/blog_entry/des...ip_troopers_oav That was an interesting scene for sure. I also like the party on the beach. That was kind of realistic too. I guess the problem is Johnny in the anime is really super generic and doesn't really have any discernable character traits. I did like the kid with the headphones! What a way to go! Do you have any other suggestions?
  6. Haha, well, Star and Betty aren't into this kind of stuff. I had to sell them on it. I sold them by talking about the '80s flashdance scenes and the bizarro sex scene!
  7. Wow, glad you enjoy the show! Let me know if you have any suggestions for future episodes!
  8. By "the regular dude" you me mean and no she's not my girlfriend, nor has she ever been. Her boyfriend's never been on the podcast.
  9. We have a new podcast up at: http://www.destroyallpodcasts.com It's about the first Megazone 23 OVA, one of my favorite Japanese cartoons ever! It's also the second anniversary of the podcast and our 100th episode. And yeah, I will be adding more stuff to megazonetwothree.com shortly.
  10. Yeah, actually watching it most likely won't improve your opinion of it...
  11. The MODAT 6 only exists in the terrible Robotech The Movie comic. In the actual Robotech The Movie he flies a Pluto jet until it gets shot down and somehow there is a Space Hargun inside of it which he pilots. The Space Hargun only shows in Megazone 23 normally for a couple of seconds in the space combat scenes where it is immediately exploded.
  12. It'd be a retcon is if was supposed to be in the same continuity as the original series but changed things anyway, like how Megazone 23 III said Eve was originally a real person. At any rate, I got my Yamato Proto Garland last night! It's way nicer than original Garland toy.
  13. There are a ton of preproduction robots in both the Artmic Design Works book and the Megazone 23 B-Club Special. I will try to scan some when I get a chance.
  14. Megazone 23 was originally supposed to be a TV series and went through a number of working titles including Vanity City and Omegazone 23. They had to change it to Megazone 23 at the last second due to some watch called Megazone or something like that. Because it was cut down to a single movie from a whole TV show a lot of the robots were shelved.
  15. The robot has no feet, just wheels thing is really lame. I do like the *slave ones, though they are mostly updates of Vanity City designs.
  16. Well it does say "Lost Possibility" in big letters. I took that to mean the show's not happening. Then again, that could be more like "rejected designs".
  17. This is pretty interesting stuff but I think the Cross Line Garland is an ugly piece of crap. Some of the robots are kind of neat though, but not that one. In the AWO interview with Ishiguro he said they delayed the Megazone TV show because they didn't want to conflict with Macross Frontier. I guess this is confirmation that it's never going to happen, sadly.
  18. I own a hard copy of the book but I haven't scanned any of it.
  19. Yeah, moe anime is selling sooooo well that the industry is collapsing both in Japan and abroad.
  20. I dunno, I don't have the limited edition yet. A friend is going to Tokyo this summer so I'm sending him on a quest. I guess I could buy it online but I'm trying to get it cheaper! From what I've heard it's just a strategy guide though, and not an art book. I'll let you know when I get a copy! This I can tell you about! It's mostly line art that also appears in the old books. There's nothing in there that's not in the B-Club Special Megazone 23/Artmic Design Works except it has art for the PS3 game in it, which is sort of neat, but it's only a couple of pages on it and the rest is pretty much recycled stuff. I guess it's good to see it back in print but it's not really that useful to me personally. Again, gotta go with the B-Club Special.
  21. Hmm, cool, I will try to track that one down. I'm always wary of buying one of the character designer's books for fear it will be like one page on what I am looking for and a hundred pages on crap I don't care about.
  22. You want the B-Club Special: Megazone 23. http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/3007/thum...ecialmegazo.png Definitely my favorite and has just about everything. The Artmic Design Works book is cool too and has a lot of the same stuff, but the Megazone 23 B-Club Special just has more Megazone in it. All the line art you can shake a stick at. The Entertainment Bibles have some great stuff too, but it's the same stuff in the B-Club and Artmic Design Works and printed tiny and it's got less than either. The B-Club Special may be sort of hard to track and the Artmic Design Works book is still pretty good, but those should be your top priority.
