  1. That should be Tosaka Rin from Fate/ Stay Night. That probably means a new Saber in the Fraulein line then...
  2. BTW, Helldivers and Blue "Brokens" are available for pre-orders from HLJ already.
  3. I wasn't referring to the way it was mounted as "odd" because it's not correct to lineart -- rather, I dislike the way you have to remove the ammo clip to mount it. That just introduce another part to lose.. As for Aoshima being royally screwed by Toynami, to be honest I have to say they asked for it....
  4. To quote Drifand's source: I'm not sure at this point whether Aoshima saved or lost money. Each QC case is expensive not only in terms of replacement parts (or whole toys), but also customer perceptions. Personally, I think Aoshima made a bad business decision, but that's just me.
  5. I'll be the first to say that some of the items inside that article sound correct, but to suggest abolishment of the air force just like that is really very short-sighted. I think there need to be a realignment of priorities within the US Air Force, but to suggest disbandment is a bit ludicrous IMO.
  6. Scanned and searched but doesn't seem to be here.. If this is a repost, mods please feel free to merge or nuke. I was scanning through HLJ items and came across these, due in December. Images are from HLJ but hosted on my own account.. VF-1S: http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00066 VF-19: http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00065 Personally? I don't really dig the black, and the gold letterings/ highlights really kill it for me. The VF-19 is much nice than the VF-1S though.
  7. Well, back to topic -- the auction did not go for $565. Hmm..
  8. Hrumph... The good news is that now you can mount the gunpod on the top, which is a lot better than the odd way you mount it on the MPC. But the hands look no better, and the plastic quality looks no better. We also cannot quite tell whether the banana-boat syndrome has been fixed.
  9. Er, Ewwie? I guess I have to source for alternative hands. Anyone has any ideas?
  10. Why not just let us have the gory details regardless whether you get it back into Fighter?
  11. Wrong legs. I think the Demonbane is more likely correct.
  12. I got about into the first kick and then my soul cringed and went shrieking away in terror.
  13. Heh, Top Gear is turning into a show obsessed with the Veyron. It's a great car, but still...
  14. Modelling term for "plastic model".
  15. The BG are actually a series of mechanical base sets made by Kotobukiya, seen here: Set 1 Set 2 Set 3 They are very good and can be chained together. The accessories that come with them are very nice, and for 1/144 models are a perfect scale to display MSes in, though CCA-era MS are a tad too big. Even the Revoltech Labours look very good in them. If you got the space to display them, I heartily recommend a set of 3 -- but they do eat up space, so getting more than that isn't recommended.
  16. Like so? Amazing what you can hide behind that shield.. Also, the VF-1J arrived; it's quite fun to play with, and the stand provided is great for airborne poses. The VF-1S should be arriving soon too.
  17. Hmm, I wonder how much an effort it would be to develop and mount a multiple-MG turret in place of the current 120mm turret? Probably too much to seriously consider, but that's really something that will be more useful than a 120mm gun that isn't really utilized.
  18. Might get better response in the Transformer superthread.. Nice pic though.
  19. Err, not a fair comparison IMO -- EMSIA is high end 1/144 Gundam, Revoltech stuff aren't quite in that league. I think it's fairer to say Revoltech falls between MSIA and EMSIA. The main point is that Revoltech joints hold poses better and longer than MSIA ABS joints. Unfortunately, the design of the joint receptacles often restrict the poses that can be done -- i.e., the "big nuts" syndrome, the limited shoulders, etc. etc. A MSIA/ EMSIA design with Revoltech joints would be interesting to see. (Which leads me to a pet peeve. Where's my Revoltech joints set for customization? Kaiyodo is sitting on a gold mine there...)
  20. It isn't that I don't have pics -- hmm, actually I never went to take pics... -- but it's more that my painting skills had steadily decreased from lack of practice.
  21. Trying to invoke Godwyn's Law? It's not a good topic to discuss here, really. To get back on topic, the production of a new aircraft based on a 50-year-old frame has different meanings on a tactical and a strategic scale. I don't think very much of the aircraft if it ever gets into combat against a modern air force (US or Russian), but to be able to get to this point highlights certain other capabilities.
  22. I don't think this is about the quality of hardware that the Iranians are concerned about. Their international situation is such that any arms suppliers may suddenly get arm-twisted into stopping shipments, and that would have impact on their capabilities. I think the Iranians are deliberately going the hard way to build up their own national capabilities so that they can use internal resources to support their own forces. Regardless of what their intent is, their strive to be nationally, industrially and economically independent is actually quite admirable IMO.
  23. Just pre-ordered. You do realise that the HLJ system is not real time, and there is a poor wrench monkey who sorts through the orders tomorrow morning JP time, right? So there's still an element of risk...
  24. Oh yeah, briscojr84, you might be interested in this: http://warseer.com/forums/1903011-post1.html
  25. Why a 3D model? Go for a real plastic model, fresh off the oven.. http://warseer.com/forums/1903011-post1.html As for myself.. still the M.A.C. II.
