Hm... I realise a way to guage roughly how impactful/ enjoyable (or both) an episode had on its audience for Frontier is by the number of forum responses in the episode threads..... Good/ impact ful episodes can get 650 or more posts, while those "meh" spisodes struggle to rech 400 posts... Damn this episode is heart wrenching....

haha... reused animation in macross F? I can live with it.... quite minimal, compared to to some other mobile suit anime where EVERY week they reuse the same animation when a particular Mobile Suit is launched.... sheesh...

The chihiro subs also mentioned leon's informant sending the blueprints of that "thing" and that its "almost identical". Seems to be the blueprints to the vf-27. Some thats how the vf-27 could have been repaired, or, it could be a totally new built craft, biut without the imbuilt fold boosters.
