  1. Saw the pre-production samples a couple of weeks ago together with Blackaces, Neova and Valk 009.

The figures looked excellent. On seeing them, I immediately placed a preorder for Hicks, even though I don't collect or currently own a single 12" action figure.

Now THAT'S a ringing endorsement - need to find where to order these bad boys!

  2. Well, I missed chowser's box sale, so I figure I'd post it here - got a 1/48 Max VF-1A box taking up space? Don't want it anymore? Sell it to me! :D PM me if you have one, and want to sell it - and thanks!

  3. I have to agree with what Danny says - unless you are going to go through the hassle of finding a readily available paint and matching to that, or you're going to provide us with info on how to mix our paint to match it, it may be a moot point to have the parts pre colored (though, it would help with respect to scratching - then you wouldn't have a white scratch, you'd have a similarly colored scratch) - and, it would give us at least a starting point, to know what colors we need to aim for...

  4. The PG gundams probably aren't worth having insured, as they're still fairly easy to come by.  Now, if you have a boxed unbuilt AMT/ETRL U.S.S. Enterprise-C, then you should insure that, as you can't buy them in stores anymore, and there's hordes of people who want one.

Best bet, call around town, and see who'll insure it.  You might also want to contact an appraiser to get a value too.

Uhm, you want to insure everything, even if they are cheap and easy to come by. Reason being - you have to pay a deductible regardless of what you insure. If you only insure the expensive stuff, sure, you'll get the money to replace those items (after paying your deductible), but what if you have 10 PG's - or even 30 MG's? That's still a good chunk of change (10 PG's at $100 each - $1000, 30 MG's at $25 each - $750). If you insure it, you'll get all that money - and only have to pay the deductible once (usually anywhere from $250 to $1000, depending on your policy). So, do as Majestic suggests - videotape and document what you own - either print out copies of what you have purchased from HLJ or other online shops, so you have proof of what everything is worth. Or do as I do - video tape your collection, then make a webpage that's hosted somewhere (could even be a blog), that has all of your collection itemized, with links to the actual webpages. If the worst happens, and your collection is engulfed in a fire along with most of your belongings, the webpage still exists with your list. If you have something rare, have it appraised by someone who is knowledgeable, and store that in a safety deposit box or a fireproof safe, along with the video tape, so they aren't destroyed in any fire.

  5. I got a few from him on that deal and am very glad I did. What I don't understand is that they(the non super/strike) used to start selling for around 100.00 dollars. hats up with the 150.00 for the VF-1A CF's?

Probably the cost of oil going up and also maybe demand for it is more than last time, so distributors may have pushed up their prices, which is then pass on to retailers who have no choice but to charge more.

Uh, the yen prices are exactly the same as when the Hikaru 1A first came out - the non supers/strikes have always been 14,800 yen (unless HLJ changed their prices on the items that are no longer available). What has changed is the exchange rate - back when the Hikaru 1A was first released, the exchange rate was $1 = 123 Yen, so the 1/48 would have cost about $120. Now it's $1 = 109, meaning the 1/48, at the same yen price, now costs $136...

  6. Well I can say that if this turns out to be right, and Wing Zero and even RX-78-2 turn out to be under the 30 dollar price range, you can bet I'll get those....but I'm just hoping that this PG Zaku is actually a Zaku and not that crystal armor crap.

The PG Wing has been sold twice for $20, and each time it sold out in a matter of hours - and it's currently out of stock. It may well go on sale again, if they find stock in some warehouse somewhere, but chances of that seem very unlikely. The PG RX-78, however, will probably go on sale at some point in the very near future - at least we all hope!

  7. Ahh Rick the Hunter. He dissapeared. I know he had made alot of deals on here to do valks and what not. Then his mom got really sick or something. He just stopped coming to the boards. Then there was a lynch mob after him. I think he paid most of those people back but I dont know for sure. I have tried to contact him many times through his brother but no luck. Whereever he is I hope he is doing good.

Actually, the story I heard was he got f-ed over by his girlfriend big time, got real depressed, and started doing drugs... :(

  8. I already looked at the site.

    Didn't see anything that new...

Looks good so far, but nothing new...

This is a helpful link, though, so thanks.  http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=14099

Yeah, I'm retarded AgentOne.  That's why I have an MBA and fly a $25M jet.  Grow up jagoff.

I know there's nothing new - hasn't been for a few months because of me not having a work bench. Check out the dates on the first posts in this thread - it's from over a year ago! You didn't miss anything, someone just dug up a really dusty thread, trying to find out info on it...
