  1. I don't have an SLA machine at home, but I've created 3-D model files, and sent them to a shop that does SLA work for projects I've been working on at home. Let me find the link...

    https://www.dpt-fast.com/

I believe that's them - they did a rather good job on the parts I sent them - quick turnaround, and relatively cheap too. You can specify different finish levels, so you can get your parts quicker, and all you need to do is sand the surface to make it smooth...

  2. I've used SLA and SLS at work and at home - SLA is the more accurate medium, but a little more expensive than SLS. I like it - saves me a ton of time trying to get basic shapes from scratch, versus having a computer model that is fairly accurate being transformed to 3-D. The only thing you need to keep in mind - the computer models you need to send them will be 3-D solids - like IGS or STL files. So make sure you're 3-D program can output those files...

  3. I think its safe to say fulcy has abandoned the project. Pity cause i was really looking fwd to it.

This project hasn't been abandoned - it's just gathering dust ;) With my store doing pretty well, I haven't had any time to work on my other projects, including this one, which is kinda annoying...

  4. Tamim isn't set up to do production--he's a distributor. Plus, he and I parted ways several months ago. He stopped replying to my emails about replenishing his supply of sold out sets. I was getting a lot of emails from frustrated TMP customers about the lack of availability of certain sets, when I would send TMP more, etc. I ended up having to fill the orders myself, which is exactly what I didn't want to do and why I had a distributor in the first place. <_< I'm not sure what happened on his end since I never received responses (maybe he's just really busy), but I decided to stop doing business with him due to the lack of communication. I had started talks with someone else to host my decals on their site, but then the ALPS news hit and I decided to shut down the business.

I guess I don't need to worry about putting your decals up on my site anymore :( This sucks, and I'm sorry I wasn't more responsive to the whole situation - was busy with my own marriage too (congrats! ). I wonder if Samuel Decal would be interested in producing your decals? I believe they also use an ALPS printer, but they've made no mention on their website about having to shut down (though, that's not stopping me from placing an order through them very soon).

Not to hijack your thread either - but if anyone is interested in ordering decals from Samuel, message me - I am getting an order together, that I'd like to place by the beginning of December - so if anyones interested, let me know!

Now with limited edition super special Exploding Action! Take it out of the box, it explodes! Display it with your other valks - it explodes! Do absolutely anything with it, and it will explode!

  6. Well so far the Wave joints have won me they are not bad on price and a tight fit.  If you compare them to the joints on the TF Alternators/Binaltech line then they are light years ahead. The TF ones are  as random as the Yamie 1/60 joints when it comes to stiffness.  I admit I dont paly with them as much as some but the Wave joints i have used so far have had a load of abuse from me being on my development 1/55 they are constantly being moved and unclipped and reclipped, as of yet they are as good as new.

I dare say that Skull or someone could design a more techincal wear test and come up with a defined result, but for me they are stronger than the original wobly bootlegs joints.

The Yellow Sub ball joints are MUCH stronger than the wave or kotobukiya ones...

  7. ICK, don't get me started on how shoddy ball joints are... they used those in the newer TF line of figures (Beast wars and anything since) and they either come packaged loose as sin, or wear out so fast, even standing on a shelf, its not funny at all...

no offense to the mod, i still love it, but... ball joints... gah

BTW i may give this a try, but i bet i fu*# it up royaly if i do :p

lack of tools and knowledge are my worst foes....

To be fair - I didn't use a stock ball joint - I engineered my own. The socket is custom cast into the upper thigh, and the aluminum ball is secured to the swing arm - and I have yet to hear of one of my custom ball joints getting loose over time...

  8. Personally, I like the look as long as the pipe is recessed enough. Enough to contemplate dressing up a set of FP's if I like the price.

And cannon doesn't always = realistic, so I'm not worried about that. I don;t stockpile these thing like others around here, so I want the few I have to look the best I can make them.

I would really like to see some well done back-bell replacements, but they'd need a more dynamic shape for those - something wishfully thinking-designed with some plastic parts so I can just pop off the old ones and pop on the new ones.. (end of fantasyland rant)

I've considered making a large bell replacement - but it may not happen for a little while. The shear number I'd have to have made, to make the price reasonable, would put a good sized hole in my pocket. But, we'll see how it goes...

  9. They look more realistic than the stock thrusters, but are certainly not canon.  That's also a pretty high price to pay for such a minor enhancement, notice that all the shots needed to be zoomed in.  I'm not knocking Fulcy's prices, which I believe are very fair, but the problem is that you can't buy 1 or 2 thrusters, you need several.  And that price is only going to mutliply if you want to outfit additional Valkyries.

Overall, from a practical and aesthetic point of view, these probably work best on the mecha they were designed for: Gundam  B))

Always gotta be a wet blanket, dontcha... :p

  10. fulcy if you think about how many I needed it was 12 jsut for the small bells. maybe you should make a package deal for macross customs. cause three packs of 12 bells is 45 bucks. almost as much as a set of fast packs haha. but hey it depends on how much those cost to make and how much you wanna make out of this.

    416771[/snapback]

I'm sure something can be worked out - I can knock a few bucks off here and there, but not too much since I'm selling these almost at cost to begin with. Let me think about it, and get back to you guys tonight.

  11. Sadly, I think all the negative feedback from all of you is due to being too intimidated by their beauty. Granted Graham is correct in saying "one persons 10 is anothers 3.5". But there is seriously NOTHING wrong with these women. All are beautiful in their own right. I personally have yet to find one thats not attractive.

But you just stated - 'I personally have yet to find' so that's your opinion - and not everyone will share that opinion. Personally, I kinda side with Roy on this one - some of them are cute, but others just don't do anything for me, and I don't find them beautiful at all...
