  1. I'm curious if people are always getting a stand with Roy? Are they in more bountiful quantities then we think? Is it still too soon that stock of them hasn't run out yet?

  2. OST will be released in June. OP/ED single just got released today.

Finally, the extended version of the ending credits song Rune ga Pika to Hikattara. :)

I like this song. The rest not so much so far. The ending credits song captures the spirit of M7 IMHO. I'm thinking that's why the ending credits animation looks inspired by M7 as well.

  3. I think the main thing with this toy is that it was cheap.. but I guess I had my expectations set a little too high. In the end I don't mind so much about its deficiencies as it looks ok sitting on my desk but what did annoy somewhat more so was the cost of shipping. At about 1.5 times the cost of the toy itself and packaged in a box so unnecessarily large that no doubt didn't help in keeping the postage costs down.. <_<

And I also had to straighten the rear winglets as they were flopping down. I though it was due to fitting inside the packaging but when I straightened them out I placed the toy back in the packaging and the wings don't touch anything.

Might I ask what method did you use to straighten them? I was going to dip the tail fins in very hot water to soften them. I am weary of using direct heat.
  4. Best episode so far, ties up everything from previous episodes.

The only thing I feel lacking is the song, doesn't integrate well with the action.

the sound booster folds like origami when stored...

Not sure about Hayahaya the only one in Delta with holographic helmet

Yeah I wasn't feeling this particular song either. Oh well, I guess they can't all be hits.
  5. Still going through the episode frame by frame trying to see where Mirage got the beamgun pod from or whether she actually had it mounted somewhere on her VF-31.

I really hope it wasn't an animation error.

As for the gunpod...hmmm does that look like a gunpod under the 31S after launched?

It looks like the gunpod is somehow mounted underneath, even tho there is a projector deployed topside!

    attachicon.gifvf31_launch.jpg

I think it can be mounted underneath. Here's another pic looking at it from another angle. Yes? The real question is did Mirage have a similar loadout? I could never get a good view of that area on her particular valk, so it's possible I suppose. I didn't think Hayate had the gunpod. Where does it go when in battriod mode if it's not being held in it's hand?

Edit: also I don't think the bottom gunpod is the same as one that would be mounted on the weapons rack on top. From googling pics it looks like the bottom mounted gunpod is smaller then one that would go on top. I don't know, maybe it's the same one.

There's a pic at taghobby showing the gunpod underneath.

  6. The listing, which I compiled a while back, is of colonized worlds... Earth isn't a colony, it's the homeworld. That's why the moon, which was colonized, is listed but not Earth.

Ah, I see. I thought you were simply listing named planets in Macross based on the title you put on the list in this thread. It did seem like a glaring oversight if that was the case.

I added some pics in my original post about it. I was able to get free shipping from toysrus.com on orders over $19. It doesn't seem like it's for a limited time either. Looks like a new shipping strategy they are doing to be competative. I mean I can live with the size, lack of detail or lack of certain features due to the price, but the plastc and die-cast metal being warped and sloppy paint is just not right.

  8. My NECA Aliens drop ship finally arrived. Can't say im overly impressed by it.. but it looks ok I guess. The little APC is very cute though! ^_^

Being mostly die-cast it has some weight to it and will make a nice little desk ornament / paperweight..

    attachicon.gif20160507_113829.jpg

Yeah, I just got mine in today. Pretty disappointed by the quality. It's a decent enough size, but my top tail fins are seriously warped down. They should be straight at about a 45 degree angle. They're curved down almost horizontal on mine. When I looked at the plastic packaging I can see that they probably wouldn't even fit if the top fins were at the proper angle. The paint apps on the missiles is terrible. The main front lights are wrong, my right light piece is not even glued on correctly. The omission of the hydraulics for the cargo ramp is very conspicuous and glaring IMO. Even for the size they could have done something. I've seen it done on smaller toys.

Sigh, with just a little more follow though and a little more QC this would have been a great little die cast toy. Oh well, hopefully the other ships will be a little better.

Edit: I decided to add some pics of the problems and I thought why not show my latest Nausicaa acquisitions these last few weeks.

Seriously warped top tail fins. I'm tempted to heat them up and straighten them out.

The larger lower tail fins are die cast, yet they are also warped and bent out of shape.

    20160509_223829_zpslfyevuup.jpg

Sloppy paint on the missiles. I can't tell if all that goopy-ness is plastic or excess paint.

Now for some cool Nausicaa stuff.

    We have the

Nausciaa and Moeve prepainted model by Cominica

    Gunship by Formania

Ohmu in it's calm blue-eyed state by ensky. The Ohmu is a pull back toy. It's kind of neat as the different sections move back and forth as well as the front mandilbes as it rolls across the floor so it looks like it's crawling and alive as it moves.

  10. I'll never recommend anyone buy from NY

They're certainly last on my list of go to shops. I think they were the only ones offering the Roy early on. Later I think another shop was offering them.

  11. You need to crack that box open and let your VF breath! B))

Unfortunately, valkyries don't age like fine wine.:(
  12. Passed on the CM Minmay many times. I think it's a horrendous looking figure by today's figure standards. Best Minmay figure out there? Probably. A great figure in general? Uhhh... :p

Come on Megahouse, give us a better Minmay!

I'm hoping we'll get some Macross The First Minmays at some point. Although with Delta in full swing I'm not too hopeful.

  13. Mikumo has only been shown talking to the sky outside of her singing role, but there's obviously more to be learned there, and she seems to have a direct line to HQ, which hints at greater capabilities.

It seems to me that Mikumo does spend a lot of time by herself. I'm thinking she's involved in higher level agendas apart from the normal duties of Walkure.

  14. First they start with custom decals. Then they make custom parts and accessories? Would be cool though.

Like maybe an in scale pilot molded to sit inside. That would be really awesome.

  15. Oh he had eyes alright... He was even estimating her measurements lol.

Oh, yeah I forgot about that. I need to rewatch it. Lol!

Regarding the Hayate/Freyja excursion, really there's no way he could have just taken it out for a joyride without someone being alerted and confronting him about it as soon as he started to take off. Besides, didn't he use the excuse of a training exercise, and isn't Freyja supposed to ride with him during missions. The scene honestly seemed a little shoe horned in to provide a nostolgic musical scene and provide some drama afterward.

Actually they first met face to face going head to head on a tabletop video game. Which is the way all young lovers met in the 80s. It was totally awesome, dude.

I am aware of that, but that is not the point their eyes and hearts locked on; it was after the knife fight (SDFM) and after the battle on the Meltrandi ship (DYRL).

Max had eyes for Millia during the video game. That's why he chased after her. It's only Milia that had to be convinced by Max. The DYRL scenerio was more mutual.
  17. But the purpose of those thrusters is for forward propulsion in GERWALK mode... hence GERWALK thrusters... hence GERWALK thruster covers.

EDIT - yes, this is a silly conversation, since those thrusters are covered n fighter mode anyway, there's no real need for a cover flap anyway.

Secondary thrusters or auxiliary thrusters or even backpack thrusters sounds more appropriate. Just like "leg" thrusters doesn't seem appropriate for the primary thrusters since one could argue that they are equally important and used in other modes. I wouldn't call them "fighter" thrusters. That's like saying Battriod arms vs Gerwalk arms. One could argue that arms are primarily for Battriod mode. They're just arms.
  18. But it covers the gerwalk thrusters when in other modes, thus is why I suggested Gerwalk thruster cover.

It only covers the thrusters in one mode (fighter). One could just as easily call it a Battriod thruster cover flap thing-a-ma-jig.

  19. I guess you could also call it the gerwalk thruster cover?

But it should be down in gerwalk mode. You only use it to cover them in fighter mode. So, maybe just thruster cover...flap thingy

  20. Team Freyja this go around. Tsundere characters always seem to win in Macross Universe. Go underdog! Go Freyja!

I so want to touch her rune. I'm such a perv. :D

I do like that they went with the DYRL meeting instead of the Series one... falling for a one's match or equal is cooler with Mecha instead of that lame knife fight.
