  1. i just wish you could buy things and have protection on paypal withot going through ebay aswell, as ive also lost over £450 as i bought a rare transformers raiden giftset which never turned up, was bought from a fellow in usa, investigation was done through paypal, accepted i won the case due to him not replying bt couldnt refund my money as he had no money in the acccount!! also a member on here called zeo-mare took my money for a drawing and never done the goods or replied to my messages, thankfully i found someone else on here to do my drawing though

I always assumed Paypal will refund you the money regardless and go after the person by withdrawing from the bank account they have on file. Damn. I'm sort of in the same situation. They decided in my favor, but the funds are pending. I hope they don't end up tellling me I won't get my money. I have to look into this.

  2. I remember a while back a member talked about his exwife or fiance or something and how she kicked him out and took his collection away from him. I looked and i couldnt find the thread. Is this the guys stuff? I remember he mentioned a large Yamato collection. I emailed the lady and asked her about it and she mentioned it was all her ex's stuff and she didnt know anything about it.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:X:RTQ:US:1123

I was wondering...is there a way for him to get it back if it is?

Wow! If this really is his stuff, what a bee-otch!!!

  3. My friend, fellow MW member vf2ss, and I have started watching anime on Netflix. Last weekend we watched Project A-Ko, MD Geist, and Tokko. Project A-Ko was a total blast!!! I loved it! Can't believe I hadn't watched sooner. I miss 80's anime. I just love the animation style and music so much more than today's stuff. MD Geist was pretty cool, too. Good deal of violence. Looks like it was made by the same studio behind Fist of the Northstar. Tokko was entertaining, but the last battle wasn't that great. I hope there is a sequel. Interesting to hear Tony Oliver (Rick Hunter) as the lead character and Dan Woren (Roy Focker) as another character. I hope we can get together this coming weekend and watch some more. They had a couple of other Project A-Ko movies and some other stuff I've been wanting to see.

  4. Hey Rob,

sorry to hear about your situation. No hard feelings on these Revoltechs. I knew the situation would get resolved eventually. Sorry to hear the first 2 you sent got damaged. I really do appreciate the service you provided to the members here, and thank you for allowing me to be able to get these as well as the 1/48 Clear Parts. I wish you well and hope that someday you can start up again.

    Take care of yourself,

    Angel

  5. I hate snipers too, at least have the decency of making a bid during the long auction to show yourself and then snipe...

I think most bidders snipe when it's something they really want if they're not the first bidder. Alot of bidders don't want to get into a bidding war early on and have the price climb steadily on an item, so they wait until the last few seconds to throw in a bid hoping it will be high enough to win. We just gripe about sniping when we lose. You win some, you lose some. I've been lucky at times to not have anybody bid against me at the end of some auctions and get some good deals, but there are those items that alot of people are looking for, and consequently, I lose to snipers. My internet connection slows down sometimes, so alot of times, I don't have time to bid again.

  6. I hate snipers too, at least have the decency of making a bid during the long auction to show yourself and then snipe...

I have an ebay situation, I bought of couple of items on ebay and a few moments later I get an e-mail notification of committing to buying an item and when I check it's from an item I didn't bought, it wasn't on my watched item, in fact, it's something I have no idea existed, some credit card magnet reader copier whatever...

I contacted the seller to get an agreement on this but hasn't answered yet, any idea how this might have happened?? and I don't know if perhaps the seller itself might be on it since it just came out of nowhere

I used to get e-mails like that sometimes, but I would just ignore them. If it's something that never showed up in your eBay account as something you bought, it's some sort of fraudulent e-mail. I would just forward it to eBay.

  7. Looks like a cross between a Bionicle and the alien from Species.

Oh well, I'm not planning on getting any of the toys for the movie anyway unless the toy of Sideswipe turns out close to the CG model. From the first movie, I only like Ironhide enough to get him. I did pick up Stealth Bumblebee, mainly cuz I liked the repainted Camaro more than the bot mode. The only Decepticon that I liked enough to get wasn't even in the movie. The name escapes me right now, but he's that white and gray camo APC-like vehicle.

  8. VF hit a lot of things on the head in my opinion. Transformers never really was the pinnacle of story telling. For the most part (Beast Wars/Machines excluded) it was a basic story set there for good awesome robots to fight evil awesome robots. Transformers has done a lot worse than the live action films. Most of the animated series that came after Beast Wars/Machines sucked pretty royally across the board. Though animated has done a good job in making up for that.

Transformers has dozens of different incarnations. I don't see why people have such a difficult time accepting this into the fold. As someone who grew up on Transformers, I can honestly say I loved the first movie and will probably love the two that follow. Seeing Optimus duke it out with Megatron on an IMAX screen is awesome no matter if they are hyper complex "realistic" versions or blocky old school ones.

The only complaint I have with Hasbro is that they don't make a movie/series just for the older fans, and realistically, I guess they can't since they have to sell as many toys as they can, which means, selling to kids, too. So, they make these series that seriously dumb down the characters and tone down the violence significantly. Only the comic books cater to the older fan/collector, but it would be nice to see something on even the small screen that has more depth but with characters that we older fans can recognize. Beast War/Machines was a great start in that direction, but it seems that after that, they went back to shitty stories aimed solely at kids. I guess those series didn't do too well with the younger kids?! Were the stories really that cerebral for kids to relate?! I remember watching the last season of Beast Wars when they realized they were on Earth back in the past and stumbled on the Ark and seeing Optimus and Megatron in CG glory. That was such a cool story with great characters. It's a shame that they can't go and make something CG like that again only with Universe/Classics versions of G1 characters or vehicles with a more serious tone than the crap they keep putting out. Who wouldn't kill to see a series based on the War Within universe or one on the Cybertronian Wars?! I was a kid of about 6 or 7 watching Star Blazers, and I loved that series! It was cool to be able to watch something with a serious story where characters died and there was some really dramatic stuff going on. I didn't feel like it was too out there for me. It's what made Robotech so great, too. I can't believe that they think kids today can't handle watching a character die. When the animated TF movie came out, who did they think was going to go see that movie?! Adults?!

  9. hehe, I have a seller gripe

why is the postage when I go to pay for it always higher then what the calc says and I end up losing money even when I add 3 bucks for unknowns?

And that 500 dollar chunk paypal and ebay took out of my rear,,,, ouch

It really shouldnt cost 500 bucks to ship a bunch of transformers and Im only through 1/2

Im going to pile craigslist in here also, you ask 150bucks for a 300 dollar baby stroller and you get countless morons trying to give you 50 for it. I mean, offer me 100 if you want to gouge

Man, I can totally relate to this. One time I sold a 1/60 VE-1 that I had to ship to Italy. Because I was off by the weight a bit when I calculated the shipping and quoted the buyer, I had to pay an extra $10 more to ship it when I got it to the post office because it weighed a little more than 4 pounds, which adds quite a bit more to the cost. That's why they tell you to add another pound more than your estimate when you weigh something. I guess you can always refund the buyer the difference if they pay quite a bit more than it actually cost to ship it.

  10. all through paypal even phoned them up

they said it wasnt a proper tracking number and i couldnt even do a counter claim either, all my stuff i send worldwide never has a problem getting anywhere and i always send it with a tracking number and even royal mail said it had been delivered

Damn, that totally sucks. I remember selling a couple items a few years ago and neglected to pay for delivery confirmation. I sent them by priority mail. Sometime later, I get notified by Paypal that the buyers claimed the items were not received. One guy was only a couple towns away and claimed he didn't get his item. Because I didn't get delivery confirmation on those items, I had no choice but to refund the buyers because I knew Paypal would eventually withdraw the funds from my account in their favor. I knew they had received their items, but they knew they could get a refund, so they initiated the claims. I was lucky the items totalled less than $100. Delivery confirmation was only 45 cents at the time. Because I wanted to save less than a dollar, I wound up losing several dollars. Needless to say, I ALWAYS ship something with delivery confirmation (which is free when you pay for it online anyway), and only ship overseas by express mail, since USPS only offers delivery confirmation with that service.

  11. Nice find, charger! Wish they had gone with a different joint design for the knees. If these are supposed to be more anime-accurate, the back of the knees kills it for me. They should have stuck with the way these really look back there with that ribbed covering. I guess this joint they're using allows for better poseability?

  12. It's true, the 11B is just as tall as the 21 in the previous GNU toys, no reason to believe the VF-1 would be smaller. Revoltechs aren't to scale either though.

This is probably the biggest gripe I have with these figures. I don't understand why they can't all be the same scale. I don't mind paying the difference if some are taller than others. I mean Kaiyodo did it with the VF-1's and the Regult, yet they kept the price pretty much the same, so it seems that cost isn't a factor. It's what irks me about those K&M figures, too. The Tomahawk is just as tall as the VF-1J and VF-1S figures, but the Regult is about the right scale when compared to the VF's.

  13. They seriously need to mix the line-up with this line. For every two or three figures of a VF-1 or Macross Plus mecha, they should put out something different (be it another type of VF or an enemy mecha or even some character figures), not just a repaint, like what they've done with the 1/200 figures. I don't see this line lasting if they keep putting out the same mecha at those ridiculously high prices. You can already see the Macross Plus figures taking a plunge on eBay.

  14. Ow. That's worse than I imagined.

My Aoshima (which I bought just after they were released) finally succumbed to his arthritis and the hands (BOTH) crumbled on the same day. Which is kinda of sweet in a way. The left couldn't live without the right.

Apart from that though, the Aoshima has survived numerous drops and lived to fly another day.

I thought the hands on the Aoshimas were made with a more durable material than the Toynamis?

  15. That was revealed a while back... apparantly Duke left her at the altar (possibly litterally) and she disapears and comes back as the Baroness. Also either Ripcod or Breaker (can't remember which) is supposed to spend most of the movie trying to put the moves on Scarlett.

Sorry, guys. I didn't go back far enough in the thread. I just read this. Holy crap! That plotline blows! And why Ripcord?! Was he really a major player on the team?! Why not bring in Stalker and get some older guy to play him?! Geeeeeez! Well, I guess I can set my standards as low as they can go. UGH!

  16. I haven't bought off Ebay in months but just had to get some out.

Low buy it now price say $20 and Shipping price of $80

It doesn't cost $80 to ship that you ass. I know what you're up to. You don't want to pay ebay any fees.

I'll place the item up for bid at Retail Price

Come on moron it is an auction. You place something with a low starting bid or a fair middle price. If I want to pay retail I'll buy at retail. Greedy ass holes don't you wonder why no one bid on your crap week after week.

    LOOK

Damn you son of a bitch! Make a normal title for your auction. Don't give me none of that LOOK crap!

    Macross Robotech Valkyrie

What do I find inside some totally unrelated item. Don't waste my time. This can apply to any item. I hate this practice.

YOUR NOT A F*CKING BUSINESS IF YOUR ON EBAY

Stop thinking you are. A business have a physical location. An Online Business has its own site. When you sale on ebay you a smuck like the rest of us.

Charge me for shipping not other poo

So the item didn't for what you thought it was too bad now try gain your losses by including it with the handling or simply taking forever to ship an item. "Let's see I used a gallon of gas, took a hour off of work and eat a corn dog. I'll add that to shipping.

    Man that felt good.

I have to agree with most of your comments here, but there is one that I do disagree with. Sometimes I put some unrelated words in the title of my auctions so they get more exposure and to put in as many words as I'm allowed to since fee-Bay wants to charge you for just about every little thing nowadays including a subtitle, but the main item is in the title AND you have the preview pic that allows you to see an item before you decide to click on the listing.

Another thing I want to add are same state sellers charging me sales tax. And I mean those sellers that sell stuff from time to time or it's more like a hobby, not a business. Those are the ones I'm talking about. I hear that sellers are supposed to charge sales tax to buyers from their state, but I doubt that the state goes after occasional sellers.

  17. Not including super armor with it sucks big time. I hate the fact that you will probably have to swap out limbs with these like with the previous GN-U Valkyries. I guess they didn't want to make holes in the parts.

I'm not liking those elbow joints either. I wonder if the feet can close? I don't see that in any of the pics. Hopefully, it will come with a set of TV hands, too. I'll wait for these to go down big time before I even consider picking them up. This line would have been great for obscure mecha and character figures, but they keep putting out the same Valkyries from other lines. Lame.

  18. when you buy an item from the so called 'ebay store', sent payment immediately and patiently wait a few days and even up to a week to receive shipping confirmation and it's not until you contact them that they tell you the item is out of stock and if I'd like another one

WTH, you happily take my payment immediately and conveniently forget to notify that the item is out of stock until I ask for it, I don't want you're other sh!t, that's why I didn't bid on it, and then you have to practicly beg them to give you a refund

I had kind-of this problem not so much with an eBay seller, but moreso an online anime figure merchant, www.toyslogic.com (I think that's there site). I had pre-ordered 3 Revoltech Macross figures (2 Regults and one of the VF-1J Max) about a month before they were expecting them. Every month they would update the site and say they were going to be out the next month. Finally, I got an e-mail saying they had one of the Regults in stock. Mind you, I agreed to have my full order sent once they had them all in stock, so I waited for the rest of the items to arrive. Months later, they still hadn't received the other 2 figures. During this time, Lost and Found Toys (www.laftoys.com) had a sale on Revoltechs and dropped down the price big time on the VF-1J Max, but I decided not to get it because I had one ordered with the aforementioned retards. I think I placed my order with them in May/June of last year. By November, they still hadn't received the 2 Revoltechs I was still waiting on. I was fuming that I lost out on getting the VF-1J Max from laftoys.com, which of course, was sold out by now. I cancelled my order for the 2 pending figures, so they refunded me for those, and I told them to ship the one Regult that they had. This gets better ... they ship the figure to me (they are within the SF Bay Area as I am, too) and when the mailman shows up to my door, he tells me that I still owe postage for it and can't leave it unless I pay! This was a first for me. I never had to pay postage for an item at the door that I had already paid postage for when I ordered it. I told him to send it back to the sender. I wasn't going to pay double shipping! I contacted those fools at toyslogic.com, and luckily, they refunded me the money for the one Regult. So, for months I waited and waited only to get nothing but my money back. I'll never pre-order anything from that site again.

there's also the idiots that don't describe their item and just put a tiny picture of it.... yeah right

and then there are the other idiots that write a freaking novel description of the item with no good punctuation or paragraphing

One of my biggest gripes about sellers are the ones that don't describe an item that REALLY needs to be described well, especially a vintage item that you want to know everything you can regarding its condition. I hate having to ask them 20 questions. Or the ones that have really lousy pictures. There's no excuse for that in this day and age. Most digital cameras nowadays take decent pictures.

oh yes, almost forgot, the guys who say they will 'combine shipping' but then when you get the invoice for like 4 items, the combine shipping is only like 1 dollar less from the sum total of the shipping of each item added and when the item arrives, you get two things crammed into one box...there's your combining for you

Alot of overseas sellers do this. It pisses me off. They offer lower prices, but they still get you on the combined shipping. With domestic sellers, I try to ask up front if they can tell me how much it would be for certain items before I bid on those items.

  19. ok, I got this a while ago...I think it was a nice deal, this figure seems to be hard to find since they are discontinue and the other one MISB are almost triple the price I got

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=200299876773

and I got the figure in pristine conditions, I feel it's one of the best ebay bargain I've gotten

Those things have gone up that much? Man, I picked one up and the Ayane figure both MIB back when they were plentiful for about $30 each. Anyway, check out these SD Macross toys and a Robotech Monster I scored:
