I'm in for just one. The battroid and gerwalk modes look really blagh but that fighter mode..... sweetness
Is it just me or does the fighter mode look a bit chunky compared to the anime version?

T3 strays so far away from the elements that made T1 and T2 great. I feel it's without doubt the worst of all the sequels. Despite how bad the others are, I feel the others had to work with T3 in mind as part of their universe that makes it horrible.
I really wanted a Terminator movie where we find how John does it without any time loops.

If he's doing MacGyver when will he have the time to do Robotech the live action movie?

Now, now........no need for white guilt here, there's been plenty of that going around lately, lol!
I'm Chinese and it doesn't really bother me in this case (Macross live action with Toby McGuire cast as Hikaru would piss me off). The film is trying to emphasize the legend that is Bruce Lee, and I think It's told from Steve McKee/McQueen's point of view to distance the viewer from Bruce Lee himself....but then again, what do I know, lol!
Please... emphasise the legend by making him sound like a jerk and with so many inaccuracies? White guilt? Or the harsh reality of an industry that has gone worse thoughout the years?
Bruce Lee is a big enough name without the need for such cheap ideas especially with such poor writing- Bruce Lee sounds like a prick and half of what we see in this trailer never happened the way it's being shown.
There is no real need for the "protagonist" to be there other than to connect non-existent strings despite it being "based on a true story".

Lol another movie where despite a famous name like Bruce Lee Hollywood still needs a white protagonist in there. They can't get Bruce Lee right and of course, the details about the movie and truth are hardly in line with one another.
Stay classy when it comes to genres of culture Hollywood

For a cheesy movie, $383 million isn't too bad. If they got rid of their comic relief characters it wouldn't have been half bad.
Don't know what's with the overreaction about Chinese brand placement- it's not as if America and other multinational brands are bandied around in movies, Bit hypocritical if you ask me.

I'm surprised HLJ doesn't have this available...
-
Just hope they can fulfill all their preorders. Heard stories that sometimes they can't.
EDIT: Got my e-mail confirmation so really hope that they don't come up a few short
-
HLJ said that they accepted my order but I don't have an e-mail confirmation and it's not processed in my warehouse either. Should I be worried?
-
Yeah HLJ is not doing great for me. I doubt I'll be able to get one

The Youtube areaseven has posted has that annoying detail about the nose and the rest of the paint not quite matching.
Hope it's more like the images that Swoosh has posted.

It may have made up the filming cost, but not the marketing costs and that can be just as much.
Hard to find out the marketing costs- but the movie didn't seem to be heavily marketed as some of the other $100+ million movies I feel. Doubt there's a sequel unless they can get over that $400+ mark.
-
Well it cost $160/165 million to make... does that change it much?
-
Strangely enough if it didn't get its money from China I'm wondering where it's coming from. It's doing ok (not sure if it's enough for a sequel) with $337 million for a roughly 200 million movie?
Anyone here think they've done enough for another sequel?
-
A VF-19 Active or VF-5000 and I'll be throwing them money
-
Is it just me or do the subs come a little later when there's less Valk action?
-
Apparently, toys of the earth fighter were planned and presented at the New York Toy Fair
Wish the movie was a big hit just to see these on the shelves.
Hope that it eventually does well enough to maybe get a sequel... doubt it though.

Marketing for big-budget movies is often equal to production costs. And my understanding is that the box office slowed down greatly in China after its rather huge opening weekend.
It's made over 2.5 times the money back without complete coverage and DVD sales. Surely that's considered a decent success- there have been sequels that have been green lighted for less. Would probably garner a sequel by the look of things- I wouldn't classify this as a flop unless you're only looking at the US market...
-
Well, this movie has pretty much died at the box office. Between the filming budget and the marketing, it's made its money back, but not much more. Unless this does big money in DVD sales, I'd be surprised if we saw a sequel.
I'm not sure you're correct- it looks like it's more than doubled it's money at the moment and it hasn't been fully released around the world yet. That doesn't include DVD sales either so I'm not sure how you wouldn't consider it a success as far as ticket sales are concerned.
Looks to me that the US isn't very relevant to the movie's success and opinions from that market has less of an impact compared to the global outlook which probably will give them reason for a sequel if they wish.

Cue the crickets.
Don't think even the crickets would bother turning up to this one.

The reality is that Hollywood have not really provided actors/actresses of other ethnicities as many roles/opportunities that can lead them be an A-list star that he's talking about. He's missed the point and came a premature conclusion without thinking it through with any depth about why some are angry about the situation.

looks like a transformers movie. and I mean that in the worst way possible.
For a fan movie it's not that bad.
And still light years ahead of Robotech and their live action movie.
