  1. It was a slightly better episode, but now we're gonna be in this rush mode with episode 8 being the finale and that kind of pisses me off a bit. There hasn't been any suspense, thrill, or chills this entire season. I mean if I were to compare this series to Romulus, Romulus was oscar performing in comparison.

  2. I've been working off and on with Nissan for nearly 30 years, yeah, pre-teen, and my family and I have always been Z enthusiasts since we owned a 280ZX brand new off the truck back in 1980, so growing up around them I've always thought of it as a dream car. Then in 2022 I sold my old Honda HRV and bought a 2014 Nissan 370Z....sadly the market in the area for them was just terrible and the closest I could get was a Touring model with a terrible paint job and some issues. Spent a lot of time working on it making it better....then I had an incident with a police officer running me off the road doing damage to the car that was entirely his fault and his department refused to pay up to fix.
Well when the new Z was released in 23, I'd been sorely wanting it since first seeing the prototype variant at our dealership. Sadly these cars are super expensive for someone like myself scraping by.

Well, we had some pretty good deals over the summer, and I had enough of fixing a car that was never going to be how I wanted it. So I was able to work a deal with my sales team and we managed to find me a two tone silver/black sport model for the right price.
I've been absolutely loving this car, it handles real well, better at higher rates of speed, the engine has got enough umpf to it that it's made me really enjoy going out for long runs on my weekends off. Just this weekend I took it on a 100+ joyride just having a blast. Ended up picking up donuts and coffee, watch the sunrise then drove home.
I've named it Bluestreak in honor of the Fairlady 280ZX the G1 Autobot was designed from. It's got a nice 3 liter twin turbo V6 pumping out 400hp and right now sits as the top of the line now that the GT-R has been discontinued. I honestly don't see myself doing much of anything to it for modifications as it feels and handles nearly perfect for my needs.
Since getting it I've had to clear out my entire garage so I can safely store it as we've had some pretty wicked storms with quite a lot of hail falling, and I don't want someone trying to break into it being in a not so great neighborhood.
I really need a nice long trip somewhere to really have fun with it, but I have no idea where to go with the limited budget I got.

  3. I got my hands on Mixmaster and went to cancel it on BBTS and somehow canceled Scavenger even though I know I paid for him......not sure what happened there.
Didn't see much of anything exciting though besides Mixmaster. Neither of my closest stores have carried much, they're just getting shelf warming figures left and right. I mean Target DID have a Gamer Edition Thundercracker, but I'm not all that excited over game stuff....I feel like their WFC Figures are to odd of a size and not all that exciting. Optimus was okay, but man the other figures were so gappy and weird looking that I had to pass on all of those.

  4. I tried my hand at getting Mixmaster at Target yesterday, it showed 4 were available, sadly, looks like all 4 were taken. It even says today, limited stock 3 available but it just doesn't seem to be updating correctly and no one would look in the back room. Could confirm though there's a peg and a tag for him! I'm not gonna worry about it though, I have him on pre-order on BBTS, he'll be apart of my loot and I"m sure available in the coming weeks.

My Skydive did show up, so that makes Superion's legs finished. I guess I'll take the win on that one.

  5. Yeah well that’s very Japanese lol. Not sure why the manga culture is obsessed with that troupe.

Amazon told me they’re pushing firefight back to end of September now, not sure why when he was listed as paid.

so guess it’s just skydive now.
I did end up canceling A3. The only one I care about was the 2 pack variant and I missed out on that multiple times now.

I got several "your stuff is going to ship early" emails, too (weirdly for Skydive but NOT Fireflight), but until I actually get the "we shipped your stuff" email I'm taking their dates with a grain of salt.

I'm a little cranky. People were saying online that they were finding Mixmaster at Target. I checked inventory online- none at my local Target, but in stock in the next town over. I made the half-hour drive after putting my kid on the bus only to find barren shelves. The girl working in the toy department checked her computer, they supposedly got him in yesterday, but after looking in the stockroom for awhile she couldn't find him and I went home empty-handed.

Interesting I can’t even find him on the website listings. Otherwise I’d be searching so I can finish two combiners in one week.

  7. Got a few notifications recently, BBTS said Scavanger is set to arrive soon, so had to make some payment changes there to get him in my pile of loot.

Amazon is shipping out Fireflight and Skydive to complete the Aerialbots. A3 is set to ship tomorrow, I kind of wanna cancel him but at the same time, I guess he could actually TECHNICALLY sit in my season 3 display.

i don't remember deer stalker... is that the ultra magnus version of prime's roller?

i wonder if this is 200 dollars with tariffs

on BBTS's site, it's 225 with a 25 deposit and that's after tariffs. Personally I won't be buying any overseas figures anytime soon because of the tariffs are changing left and right based on ol Trump's attitude. Just isn't worth it since its the consumer who gets the pinch.

  9. Woohoo! Surprise FedEx drop. Little bummed they broke away from the autobot city back drop with this character, cause he in particular should have that setup.
Same time such a waste of packaging, like a bag of chips, they could put him in a box literally half the size and look better.

sadly I’m out and about so I can’t say much about him cause he’s still in the box at this time.

Now that I'm home and had time to mess around with him, I can certainly say, none of us are gonna be putting him in his alternate form. He's got great articulation, looks pretty close to his actual G1 representation giving very little hint he turns into a tank. Yes there are things that could been improved upon or done differently, but seeing how for the majority of us, he's gonna be in robot mode, it doesn't really matter.

  10. While the episode was def better than episodes 3 and 4, something incredibly bugs me that I haven't seen pointed out.

    Spoiler

How in the bloody hell are they aware that the facehugger releases an embryo, that will eventually hatch a chest buster and then grows exponentially and become a vicious killer. Yet they're suddenly all more worried about the security breach and what not versus hunting down the Xenomorph. They even call it straight up a Xenomorph. Now if they had called it the Xenomorph XX-121 proper I"d be pissed off and wanting to know how they would be aware of this.
Now my question is where in the world did they find the eggs, they even mentioned these things can survive in deep space, how the hell did they even know that?! How are they fully aware of the xenomorph and yet the medic goes and makes a dumb mistake like cutting into the facehugger thus killing the captain witht he acid blood? I mean come on!
The Xenomorph showing up looked way more like a guy in a suit in this round. There were to many wide angle shots and distant camera movements giving away far to much of the creature which was one of the biggest things Ridley Scott wanted to avoid....and he was right, doing close up slow shots of the creature helped build the suspense. This was totally lost from this episode.
And I'm starting to think there's something with this ey-topus. Either it's sentient in some fashion, or something else. Cause I was surprised that this creature went head to head with a xeno and was putting up a decent fight, even going as far as trying to take it over after escaping the engineers' body.

Just about a third of the way though episode 2.

There's a few things bug me, some of which have been mentioned by others already.

    • No attempt by Earth's military shown to stop the ship crashing / shoot it down / divert it's course etc. Yes, the ship had to crash to move the story forward, but at least they could have had a short scene referencing this.
    • No evacuation warning shown being given to the population of Bangkok. I'm sure the ship was being tracked and the approximate crash site would have been known.
    • The crashed ship doing increadibly little damage to the city and the building it crashed into.
    • Bangkok having almost no traffic, yeah, no.
    • The Prodigy soldiers were supposed to be on a rescue mission, but were not carrying any sort of rescue gear, not even ropes.  Were they supposed to be rescuing survivors with their rifles? 🤣

Earth "Military" or government is actually controlled via the 5 Mega-corps in this series. Which is quite interesting as the novels and comics depict things very differently.
In the novels up to today, you have the United America's (Us), Union of Progress People (all communist groups like China and Russia), Three World Empire (UK & Japan), Independent Core Systems Colonies/ICSC (Colony worlds), New Albion Protectorate (broken away group from TWE, almost like Australians and New Zelanders) then finally Interstellar Commerce Comission/ICC Which we hear about in ALIENS who take care of all trade and regulation enforcement in space to the colonies and earth.
What's odd is NONE of these organizations are even mentioned and are supposed to be the world governments that control yet influenced by the Mega-corporations. In ALIEN: Enemy of my enemy, All of these organizations were supposed to link up on a colonized world to talk about the terroristic attacks brought on by some rogue group who's dropping pathegon bombs on colony worlds.
And in the early drafts of ALIEN 3 the UPP play a rather important part of the script. All these organizations are supposed to exist yet never mentioned, they even exist with Amanda being an adult so I can't believe they all just sprouted up over night either.

So yeah, I do rather feel Alien Earth is half baked and no one really did their research and no one at Disney/Fox even gave a rats-ass about it.

  12. except for the last 3 minutes, it was another lack-luster episode. Even still, a bit controversial.

    Spoiler

There hasn't been a solid canon decision on how Xenomorphs communicate with eachother. In the old Dark Horse comics it was via a psychic link with the hive, mostly controlled by the queen or a queen, even the mother. Even Sea of Sorrows kind of touched on this a bit that it's a psychic connection when Deckard, a decedent of Ripley (think the hybrid version in Resurrection) could read their thoughts and emotions.
In other books and various stories it was pheromones. A scientist even explored this by covering himself with a synthetic mixture he created from his research which did seem to work, even singing french songs very loudly in the open and the Xenomorphs ignored him until the end when it wore off.

But here Wendy can communicate with the chest burster to a point it even accepted her. I'm gonna predict that WY is gonna figure this out and want her so they can figure it out and replicate her abilities so they can control the Xenomorph.

I'm also getting very sick of Nibs. She's gone full psychotic for some reason and they need to put her down ol' yeller style.

Did anyone else notice right away that Hermit had been stabbed in the chest by the Xenomorph's tail before being webbed up?  And that that's the reason he vomits and passes out after the fight and needs to be operated on when he gets to Neverland?

I somehow missed that among all the things going on in the episode, and it seems like a fairly important point that probably should have been obvious to the viewer.

The only one I saw was AFTER that not before.

  14. Okay, I'm gonna say Episode 3 was a lack luster.

    Spoiler

I can agree with Seto, all that action we could have gotten happening off screen was rather a buzzkill. And Now I got another reason to not like Slightly at all again as he's now considering the cyborg security officer a "friend" and not smart enough to realize he's being used. Nibs I think is going psychotic, and Curly I think has daddy issues clearly.
We've now got a clearer picture as to the Xenmorph embryo which is interesting cause Romulus is is different, it's a pathogen that mutates is how it was suggested. But I'm not surprised as the unused Alien 3 script explained that the Xenomorph DNA can exist in different forms and a small amount of it can prove fatal and devestating altering the hosts DNA turning a Weyu employee into a hybrid. And to see them already using a chunk of the brothers body ie his literal left lung to grow a Xenomorph is rather a-hole-ish to say the least. I thought he had such a badly damaged lung they were gonna give him a synthetic replacement, nope, they're just using him.

  15. ya know, I read a lot of the novels, and the behavior of this particular xenomorph isn't surprising at all. it's interesting to see it on screen now, but they're brutal creatures and it's not just all about creating a hive and all that. They sometimes just wanna kill viciously and then reproduce afterwards. Infact I think in some of the old comic books they could completely rip apart a host, then somehow keep them alive just long enough to infect them with the facehugger.

I thought it was before the merger since they only talked about the lady as in the lady from Yutani. I guess they were just shortening the name. Either that or it is her actual name and I kinda missed that bit trying to rush the episode last night.

according to the comic books of late, it seems there are several Yutani family members in the business. One in particular is rather young in his Teen years and uses a Synth body as his double to go on away missions to colonies and various projects he's interested in getting involved with while the real Yutani is on earth monitoring what goes on.
Infact I believe becomes familiar with the Xenomorphs himself and even tries to get them from some ice world and fails pretty badly resulting in his Synth being destroyed.

  17. Okay now with that first look teaser as the story goes on, it looks really really interesting, and I knew the question of AI versus human consciousness was gonna come into question the moment episode 1 started.

    Spoiler

Episode 2 was a lot more intense. I loved how the Xenomorph was just stalking everyone starting in the middle of the first episode then just blending in the start of episode 2. And the party group just being absolute dinguses made me immediately think, "Yeah they're gonna die, here's a good distraction to RUN!" But man, this Xeno is far more brutal and merciless than what we've seen in previous movies. Like we usually see a hole punch, or impaling of some variety, maybe even people just being nabbed into a vent or offscreen death. But now we're seeing the absolute gore and destruction ONE Xenomorph can do on its own. That gives a whole new fear for me and making me think back as a kid how these creatures scared the hell out of me.
As for characters, I'm really hating this Prodigy guy a ton.....he's like an adolescent Peter Weyland in a way. Thinks highly of himself and not of others and I get the feeling he does this cause he's bored.
The children.......what's his name? Slightly I think it is, I just wanna smack the lil snot nose brat.

  18. Starscream looks nice, I still rather like that he's his Trijet alt mode and we barely even saw it in the film. Actually I feel like the characters in this film really shine in the Studio Series line. I only ever got B127 and missed out on Prime and Megatron entirely, but that figure was pretty solid compared to his deluxe variant.

  19. I only saw the first episode cause I got my days mixed up. It wasn't bad,

    Spoiler

I'm rather confused cause we see this crew and we see these flashes of them being killed or tortured or whatever in the beginning until we get to the bit with the guy in mothers room. So now I'm wondering, did the Xenomorph kill most of them, or did he have a hand in it as well? I'm guessing this will get touched on as the series progresses as to what happened....but right now it's like "Wait how did we go from Step A and we're immediately at Step J?"
This is also an interesting prospect cause we're dealing with what seems to be about machines now, we're introduced to 3 different types, humans who have had enhancements who are labeled Cyborgs, machines made from scratch who we all know are Synths and now humans who transfer their minds into Synth bodies which is new being called Hybrids. So I guess that means we can pretty much kiss Bladerunner tie in goodbye maybe?

    I

I'll watch episode 2 when I get home tomorrow if I'm not stuck trying to get the paperwork to my new car done.

  20. Not to mention it's sort of Hulu's last hurrah.

So, apparently the first 2 episodes reveal all 5 of the creatures onboard the ship, but no predator as speculated online... which is odd considering the sound hints of it in the first trailers. Maybe a connection will be revealed in later episodes.

I'm not surprised, and in fact I had a pretty good feeling we weren't gonna get anything Predator related at all. Xenomorph do chitter just like the Predator species, so the sound in the trailer could been a Xenomorph right next to the character, who knows.
