I would pre-order the 19, but i'd like to know if there are any 'fixes' on it before i spend that kind of money.. i mean you can get a 19 with fold booster for that kind of cash... its a shame that by the time someone reviews it, they will probably be all gone or even more expensive (massive mark up on evilbay or wherever due to there 'limited' nature). bugger.

I bet they'll be using F-22s for the VF-1. Afterall, THEY'll want this to look real and modern. Not to mention the fact that the F-14 has been retired from active service in september 2006.
may we take a moment to remember the F-14...... (sheds tears)

I think you lose so much from dubs
i can't imagine patlabor without the voices of noa, asuma, and the rest
i've watched one dubbed eopisode and the entire mood and characters completely
changed, it wasn't the same.
And that happens to every anime i've heard dub for.
i usually watch the anime a second time anyway when i want to
just enjoy the visuals
watch these and i think it will give you an idea

Funny, I was going to add that i thought the Patlabor movie dubs (1 + 2) were really good!, I couldnt imagine those movies with different voices. Maybe its a 'rose tinted' memory thing.. you hear it acouple of times that way, and thats the way it will always be.
maybe someone should start a "good dub" list thread for people like myself and/or any newcomers to the genre.

Damnit!!!! I'm gonna need to put even more shelves up... (worries as he's running out of wall space)

-Steve Buscemi as "Exedore".-
Excellent choice

WOW! thanks sketchly. I would dearly love to learn an asian language, Chinese would probably be of most use as its the most widely used but for personal use it would be Japanese... I wonder how many people have learned a new language just for anime or movie viewing? I think i'll give it a try.
thanks for the input.

hmmm that sounds interesting.. will have to check the end of month finances..but keep me in mind.... i'll get back to you asap.
thanx by the way.

While out on a quick break from the office, a gem of an idea popped into my head...... what are peoples thoughts on a Macross live action series helmed by DAVID EICK and RONALD D. MOORE? (for those who dont know, they did the current re-imagining of Battlestar Galactica).
personally i think this, although it would likely never happen, would be the best and most awsome show of all time! think of the visual style... Huge spaceships a plenty, proper transforming mecha and nice speedy well cut battle scenes!
any thoughts? (I think this is the best idea i have thought of in years!)
(should this be in a new topic or elsewhere?)
-
Well folks... thanx for all the posts and debates... I guess... i'll have to learn Japanese, Chinese and Korean then... its not something i would have ever considered. Last i heard, Japanese is one of the hardest languages to learn, but i see the merit of truly enjoying something you love in its original format. And i think its safe to say...
we all love anime.
peace.

Yup, Yup and Yup the the last couple of post... we can all spectulate, battyulate and get ourselves into a near hypermental state, but seriously how long before we come to realise (2years down the line) that this movie will probably stay in development hell, i mean look at Indy 4 for gods sake! The Indy franchise had a MASSIVE following and that movie got stuck in hell for how many years? The reality of news like this is that its just a tidbit of news... nothing more... so what if it apparently has a producer/screenwiter/star/spideyblokeperson/bigstudio its still just q wee bit of news that will probably not come to any fruition for 3 or 4 years minimum. If i'm wrong, i'll eat my feathers!!!

I'm with ya on that one... southern cross/masters mecha sucks for the most part. By far and away my least favourate show.
