  1. Speaking of the war, didn't they indicate at some point that Adama himself may have helped to start the conflict? I can't remember much in my old age...

Yup, you're right there myk, i think its episode 8 of season 3, where they 'find' a cylon raider with one of Adama's viper pilots from before the war. Adama was the commander of the Battlestar "valkyrie" (kinda apt for this forum) and sent his man in a stealth viper , behind enemy lines to spy on the cylons. He gets spotted, picked up and days later the war starts. So Adama was/is maybe kinda responsible for the war starting.

  2. Thanks for the link. There is music too for some anime.... Easy to use. ^_^

Yup, orginal manga too. I wouldn't usually do the "donation" thing on sites like that, but the 'premium' stuff is definatly worth the $5 a month.. speed is twice what u get as a regular user, and waaaaaaaaay more choice too. I started Mac7 when i posted the link yesterday.. on the last two episodes now. (including encore!). Its one of my new favourate sites.

  3. Try Mandarake. In the Namba and Umeda stores, over the past 4 years, I have seen all of the main Macross books, except for THE Gold Book (I may have seen it once... can't remember with certainty) and most of the minor books. By main and minor, I mean by whatever must-have rankings English fans put on them.

Also, I do not recommend making it public that you violated copyright and pirated a publication. It means a paper trail back to you. (IP code, ISP has your address, etc..)

Thanks sketchley, i'll check it out. The pics are free for all to download via the orginal website (if you can find it) just in a (slightly) lower resolution, so i didnt see the problem. And as for ip tracking.. anyone can fake an ip address these days so it doesnt bother me.

Thanks again for the tip on the books!

  4. Since i went out on a limb and posted almost all of Hidetaka Tenjin's Valkyries Art Book, I wouldnt mind getting hold of some scans of other Macross books... like the 'This is animation Mac+ special' or the 'perfect' book.. any decent images from the design works too. I've only seen one or two small pics from each and i'd love to see more.

Actually I wouldnt mind buying them, but soooooooo hard to find. (any pointers would be great)

Come on peeps, lets do some sharing of the wealth

  5. while not the greatest toy, I don't think its that bad. It's just decent. It's not a playing toy but more of a posing toy. Mind you it can't do very dynamic stances, but you can pull off some nice poses. I like it. What it lacks in playability, it makes up for in presence on my shelf.

    vinnie

DAMN! Those are some BIIIIIIG pics justvinnie!!! I know i know i may be a tad too harsh, but it vexes me that every time ( ok twice) i take it out of the box, it takes me about 10 mins to get frustrated with floppy bits.... actually make that 5 mins. It just isnt solid in any mode. Battroid mode being the most solid i guess. YAMATO ARE YOU LISTENING? BRING OUT THE PROPER MONSTER DESTROID IN 1/60!!!!!

  6. Why not play with them? I play with my Low Vis v1. :) Unless your definition of playing is slamming it against other toys making explosion and impact sounds (which I did as a kid, but haven't since I was a kid).

True, true.. but due the tempremental nature of all yamato valks (i mean quality control) would you risk it with a limited edition?

  7. Those would be the ones. I don't suppose I should take them out of their boxes either? :/

If you're looking for non 25th ltd edition stuff, i can recomend http://www.yesanimation.com/macross.html (they may be bit pricey for some items)

I live in the U.K. and they ship fast from the states (well packaged too), so even faster to you ! As others have mentioned HLJ is great but they take forever and a day to ship items..

If this will be you're first "toy" or model i recommend not getting the 25th anniversary valks, as you should get one to play with first... and yes i said PLAY! It dont matter how old you are, its like.."zooooooooooooooom" and "whooooooooooooosh" when you get your first macross valk. start with a 1/48, you wont regret it.

  8. Its a shame because i reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaally wanted to have a monster destroid in gerwalk mode next to my valks or guarding my computer, but its (temperature rising.... blood boiling....)..... No, its not really worth it. Wait and see if Yamato ever bring one out ina different scale that works.

Actually if you can pick one up cheap it may be ok to glue into a certain pose, but as a transforming thing.... i'd rather chew off my own arm.

  9. :o :o :o Great image's vermillion01 , excelent

But I need the second image in a resolution more or equal 1920x1200

    Thanks ^_^

Try resizing in either photoshop or MS paint... I am working on some more avatars and bits at the moment.. i just upped the best resolution i could do.

  10. With our luck, we'll have to wait until the series enters the Public Domain. :(

Hey there The Shade, I was orginally getting torrents of Mac7 but I have done some digging and found a site with direct downloads of all 49 episodes with fansubs. (you have to register but its free and okay as far as i can tell) give it a try.

    http://www.anime-eden.com/page/anime/macross7/series.html

    quality is quite good considering.

    hope this helps.

Oops, just realised this should have been directed at keith as he's the one about to spend $700 on Mac7 imports.

    waytogo noobskillz on me!

  11. Old thread I know, but i just had to share my utter dissappointment, frustration and general hatred of this "toy". I bought one about a year ago, and took it out of the box for a couple of hours then, got P*@sed off with it and back in the box it went. I took it out again about an hour ago (being better at transforming the complicated valks now) and ARGH!!!!!! what a floppy, annoying, flimsy pile of s*@t. (EDIT - sorry for the bad language - if you own one you'll understand). I have the (very good) transformation guide by peolesdru which helps a lot, but I still weep at the total lack of tightness in any of the joints, and flimsy materials. If it was diecast it would be too heavy, in fact its already too heavy in places....GRRRRRR!!!!! AAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!

I am now captain angry bloke!

coming soon to a forum near you - one Yamato 1/100 Konig Monster VB-6 only been out of box for 2 hours........etc. etc...

  12. I cant wait to see the other modes, and some more in a higher res. Do you plan on using the wallpapers for background images? that would be amazing!

Its about time someone came up with something fresh like this. If you havent already get onto Graham or Shawn about getting them embedded into the toy review pages!

  13. Nice animated gifs vermillion01, my favorite is the Macross Plus one with the 1J being paint shot.

My pleasure... never tried it before so i did a bit of net searching for some software and some nice clips to work with then hey presto. If there is any you would like making up, just drop me a line with a link to a clip (high quality is better.. tried youtube but it sucked) and a time code of the requested bit.

  14. No, that would have happened anyway. As is, I'm fighting to convince myself that I don't need to spend $700 importing Macross 7...

I know its aways nice to have the original DVD's, gods know i'm a sucker for that myself, but surely it would be better to (ahem, cough) download them with decent fan subs than to pay $700 for the full set on import? I am settling for d/l dvd rips with fan subs until a decent sub version comes out (probably the 50th anniversary at this rate!).

  15. I'm afraid i cant help you with most of the stuff you're looking for, but I have my MPC VFA-6I green Alpha fighter stood next to one of my 1/60 VF1's (and some MPC 1/55's too) in battroid mode and i can tell you, the alpha is way smaller. its dwarfed by the VF-1. They are no good for scale displays. All the of toynami's masterpiece VF-1's are listed as 1/55, but i don't think the alpha's are in the same scale.

I''l try to post you a pic tomorow.

Sorry i aint got any for sale but i hope the info helped.
