Song makes me even love the mospeada bike. :o

Sounds  kinda new wave, duran duran like B))

You can get it on the imacrossVII server under mp3 then under mospeada. Its called Areno he.mp3. I think you can log in anonymously on that server. Check the pinned thread under Movies and TV series.

    thnx for the tip!

I've made a little remix of the song... i'm just an amateur composer/mixer ... i just got a sample from an episode with some annoying background sound.

    hope you like it! :lol:B))

  2. Have to add my 2 cents worth on the arrogant geek topic.

The techies you describe are very inept at social interaction, but they are not a-holes because they want to, but because they invest their time in things they like, namely computers/games, instead of things they don't like or are scared of, like the world outside or people who they don't share interests with.

It's actually very hard for them because they have such a limited view on life. Some learn, some don't. There's enough of them out there, though, so you can always fire them and hire some others. They'll learn their responsibilities towards their boss faster when they are shown their limits.

As for the "not willing to learn because I don't care part", it's exactly that what pisses them off. They have to learn all the other stuff that's so hard for them (like leading a life), that you can do. But you can't be bothered to just take look at your configuration screens. It's not that they learn all this techie stuff in school or University, you know. They just have a knack for figuring that stuff out themselves.

Most times I've seen techies frown and be arrogant towards others is when these people (their customers/friends/coworkers) ask them for really mundane stuff. Like, the stuff the techie doesn't want to know, but can find out in about 30 seconds if he must. He doesn't know what your business software does, and he doesn't care. But he knows how to install and maintain it and thinks it's idiotic that people pay for this stuff, because it's so easy and self-explaining. Nobody gets paid for the interesting parts, of course.

Some figure out that they can earn more money by being nice to their customers. But some don't want to be nice because they get asked the same questions every f**ing day by their bosses, their customers, their relatives, their SO's... It's like you get ambushed every minute of your life by everyone you know. Just because all of these people don't bother to open their eyes. And geeks are too weak to say no.

Imaging being a lawyer and giving everyone free consulting services. Or a doctor that has a 24 hour 7 days open practice. Geeks have to learn their time has value. Nobody asks an architect how to build a garage at home every evening. If you have learned more social skills than computer skills, be thankful for that.

hmmm. i was like saying something about the gunsounds... I just got more geek replies in return...

For god sakes... what I wanted was that the gunsound sound powerfull like a real shotgun so it gives me more joy to shoot it. Wether it sounds heavier or not the gunpower itself does not change... and I'm not interested in that because that's not what i'm aiming for in previous posts.

Man if I gave those replies to my boss at office he would shout at me telling him so much crap around the subject not being straight forward.

Have you ever shoot a real gun? A little gun blow your ears in reality.

  4. I've dl episode 5 of 25 and Mospeada really rocks!

The storyline may be not so complicated as macross but in all I like characters in a crusading team.

The opening is really funky vintage cool. B)) Is it a HUD display of an alhpa fighter or cyclone?

I always wonder why they didn't make an rpg. It's too bad Mospeada didn't get as far as macross. They should deserve more! B))

  5. I really hope theydo something about the gunsounds... they just sound too soft.

I want better gunsounds with lots of kick  in it! <_<

You're fighting against the hordes of Hell. The weapons were designed so that they aren't exactly overpowering--it takes upwards of six bullets to kill a simple zombie--but that you somehow got the job done anyway. So, despite your dinky weapons, you still kick Hell's ass.

The point is to create a sense of accomplishment, and it works.

lol no i'm not talking about the power of the gun... i'm talking the soundeffects of a gun... i'd rather had the doom2 shotgun sound because it sounds heavier and more convincing. :)

  6. I got an AMD 1600XP with 512mb ram and an Ati radeon 9600pro.

Not a supercomputer but the game runs smoothly in 640x480 medium mode.

I have no problems with lagging demons at all... I'm currently at the doubleheaded demons and I accidentally blow myself away in a highly flammable area :D

Sometimes lag may occur shortly by entering a level... or after watchin some video messages, but that seldom happens :)

The most scary part i've envountered till now was the mirror scene

    that's something I didn't expected at all

  7. downloaded it bittorrent... pretty fast connection! :p

This is bumpmapping galore! Although my system runs optimal at 640x480 it's still playable with many loads of detailed objects. Glass blur effects..

However, i'm disapointed with the sound of the firearms... in doom 2 it was really kicking but in doom 3 it's sounds like gunsounds from a cheap speaker in the game itself...:S:S... hope they come with a mod very soon!.

I like playing with my searchlight but it kinda gets annoying if you can't hold the flashlight and gun at the same time.

But the game is really cool, despite the low detail settings B))

I'm having trouble with antialias.. i can't get it set.

  8. I'm not sure about diecast... if you put diecast and plastic together you will see some visual difference. Either it is full diecast or full plastic. I think only the gunpod and the shoulderjoint should be diecast.

As for the prices they offer... I'm not satisfied the way they treat the edges.. I can still see some molds leftovers and some parts are not fitted with precision.

But I'm happy with the technical aspect.

  9. See that is why Asia is almost an eden. Unless Graham can refute this. It is extremely rare for Asian gangs to really have a gun. Only the Yakuza or HK triads, or other such equally powerful gang can have access or the funds to buy a gun. That is why you have  other forms of violence like knife/machette fights baseball bats and such.

Thankfully, HK is a very safe city and we have very few crimes involving firearms. There are probably only a couple of armed bank or jewellery store robberies a year here and a lot of the time the bad guys are carrying imitation (airsoft) firearms, not the real thing.

It's not particulaly difficult or expensive for criminals to get fireams if they want them, as stolen PLA (Chinese Army) firearms can be smuggled across the border from mainland China pretty easily and bought cheaply.

However, it's pretty rare for Triad gangs to use firearms here. Don't believe everything you see in HK movies :p Triads are businessmen, with their main businesses being pirating movies and software, prostitution and smuggling. Having mass shootouts in the streets is bad for business.

However, back in the early 1990s, we did have quite a few big shootouts in the streets with ex-military criminal gangs using AK-47 rifles coming from mainland China to perform bank robberies in HK. Thankfully that doesn't happen these days.

In HK you can walk pretty much anywhere you want at anytime of the day or night wihout fear. Although there have recently been quite a few cases of poor mainland immigrants robbing hikers in country parks.

Of course we do have crime just like every other country, but according to the annual police report just released crime is down 7.5% from last year (read story here), except I think for the number of pickpocketing cases and rapes which are slightly higher.

    Graham

The only thing I fear watching those series/movies are those gangs running with stilleto's... they'll chop u up.

It's also strange that in HK they sell huge amounts of firearms replica as if they were candies..

It's weird to think that ur an adult at the age of 16 in the US... where in my country you have to be 18

  10. I'm currently using 170 grams paper a4.

it's a little bit soft but easy to fold.

BTW i was thinkin about an idea... i want to inject/fill those objects with some kind of foam.. does it excist?

oke there is one thing i came across... the middle body section is too thick compared to the legs :(
