I've finished texturing the legs (without jointsystem)
I've converted the files into PDF format
If u want to print it, don't forget to check if your printer is set to A4.
I'm suprised m crappy Epson s300 did a very nice sharp printjob.

I'm fan of the series but my opinion is that toynami doesn't make their legioss worth it.

hi everybody,
Here is some feedback from your ancestors over in europe..
The alpha just arrived in the Netherlands, i got so scared after reading al the negative feedback on this toy that i almost did not open it..
But i did anyway
I got lucky i did not have the mayor problems that the most of you guys had, but some minor things did come up though..
-one of the landing gears is floppy
-one of the missile doors on the arms is crooked.
-the whole toy overall feels a bit breakable
-the arms stand up fine though
-the decals look great
Overall i think i paid to much for this toy..it costs aprox. 144 dollars here in the netherlands..way too much for this thing
it's in the box now i am getting an other one next week..
I can try to post a pic if anyone wants..
my alpha is number 04406..
Duur he? heheheh
How much did you pay for shipping?

I'm sooo tired after work... but I finished making eps output of the leg for importing to photoshop... 150 DPI
Leg is going to have missile hatches, detailed exhaust and can transform correctly into armo diver mode (the heel turning backwards).
Tomorrow im gonna texture it with photoshop.... for now I'm going to bed.

Yeah it's very strange... since those scouts look for everything like campfire..
All in all... 25 episodes with lots of variation in the story, but too short to pack it all in. It's nice to see people die... war is messy.
It's cool to see a Tlead fighting a strong Inbit... nice damage impact effects.

Hmmm... when I went to Hong Kong during holiday in 1997, I've noticed a few Mospeada modelkits in different small modelshops in shoppingmalls.. now I regret not to have bought some of it. The prices were very very low due to bad economy.
I focused way to much on macross 15th anniversary
-
Imagine this scenario:
An individual(most likely) or an anonymous company is willing to design/produce a legioss toy for free, only let people pay for the material being used. No profit no loss...
Is that against the law? Since it is actually a hobby and the expenses being administrated... no marketing no names etc.
-
I've just finished watching all the episodes of Mospeada... to do this topic an honor
And now I'm watching Love Live Alive as a dessert... COOL!
Kickass vintage newwave synth rock (thnx PatS)

Transformers...
Late 1987 there was Robotech on Dutch television via "Superchannel" in the morning starring Linda de Mol and DJ Cat...
Then in 1988 I saw some transformable valks in the Intertoys magazine... I was trying to beg my parents to buy one... without any succes lol.
They were priced about FL. 29,99... that's just only $15,- at that time! Could be a small scale version I can't remeber it all.
And recently a few years ago I found out about mospeada and the Legioss.. I fell in love with the Gakken ala vintage style... it looks like a chunky solid plastic quality toy... and ofcourse the ultra vintage brown colored canopy.
There's one thing I still couldn't find out... which toy is released earlier? The bandai 1/55 or gakken 1/35?
-
I hope this issue is going to be published on some anime model/toy magazine if they excist. I mean surely... everyone knows that 80 buks is rediculous. It's being produced the same way as transformers... but cheaper with paintjobs.
Also my opinion is that Toynami want to take a big gamble with the legioss since there are no competitors in that kind of branche. But "if" Yamato has desided build one, they will hang eventually.
Did toynami aquirre an exclusive licence to build a legioss? Or may other companies get the chance to make one themselves?
-
Thnx for charging me up with energy people. And yes, I had issues on the cockpit but that's easilly solved. I'm planning to make the cockpit with some detail like using transparent film for the canopy... the lot is still squary but not that bad.
I hate the society and money (still i got to eat though)
So everything will be free to download and free to edit.
I'm planning to draw the textures with photoshop after output in pepakura. I will be using 150 or 300 DPI output. Texturing is too difficult and time consuming with Lightwave 3D.
I've spend $200,- on a gakken... it's actually quite a bargain and I felt bit sorry for people who can't afford it.. and no company wants to reissue it so that's why it's free.
-
HI! Could you give us some pics of the toy in transforming stages? I was curious if you needed to disconnect some parts..
-
I can see the upperleg part is very crude assembled.. an ugly split in the middle.
Isn't there a way to remove that paint smudge? I thought the legs are solid blue plastic.
I also dislike the cyan colored intake ring and dark gray color.
-
status:
I'm tired after work... so I think I can start on friday night, focusing the leg.
This time I'll use more detail for the legs such as:
- missile hatches with missiles in it (duh)
- rear landing gear
- textures
The model is going to be very large scale.
-
Here is a shot from the rear. Here are some tabs that someone pointed out. They secure the legs in fighter mode, but could they also be used to attach to a Beta?
is Beta another name of the Tlead?

MOTHERF*CK!!!
What SH*T.
Graham, you can mark me down as the first person to notice obvious quality defects before I even opend the F'n box!!!
First off, thanks to Kevin for the fast & well-packed shipping.
Now, if Toynami spent less $$$ on uselessly overdone packaging and more on hiring decent quality control folks, they might've had something here, as the sculpt looks nice.
However, I can't comment on playability or poseability, cause I never even broke the seal!
I felt like Ralphie in A Christmas Story... as soon as I opened the flap, I was like 'OH FUUUUUUUUUUUDGe...'
Only I most assuredly did not say FUDGE.
It was obvious that the paint was NOT EVEN F'N DRY before they packaged the piece of MasterCRAP because the paint on the flaps at either side of the cockpit was STUCK to the inside of the clear cover!!!
I've circled the defects in the attached pic. It wasn't easy to get a halfway readable photo beacuse of the reflections, but you get the idea.
How do you like that crap?
I take it Kevin doesn't do returns? I guess I'll haveta email Toynami customer service.
1st Toynami toy = LAST Toynami toy
I don't want a replacement from those turkeys... I want a refund.
That's an awfull paint damage

Does anyone know the real title of the song that goes "Love spirit in cosmic waves" featured on episode 18?
-
WOOHOO HOT!! Man cool models!!
Even a toynami can't beat the IMAI and Jung's skills
-
Very techy indeed
-
Just checked Robotech.com others are having problems with the Alpha too, the majority of the Alphas are indeed defective. So we arent whinners as some people are saying on the 2005 Boards.
Hmm.. I hope Toynami do everything to help the problem. That's the least owners expect from them to do so. Otherwise this product should be reported to the consumer bonds.

heheh... I'll try my best to make it simple as possible. The hardest part is to explain and draw the joint techniques in the manual.
