  1. I haven't been into this in almost 10 yrs now and I want to start building a small collection. So, I'm starting with my favorite. I was looking at these online last night and I can't tell if they're the same thing but different packaging. Or different. Are they the same? If not, which one is better?

    Thanks for your help!

  2. Yo! I haven’t been on here forever!

I couple of 3-4yrs ago I sold my entire collection off (except a few choice toys) when I was opening my new business……I needed every bit of cash I could get my hands on. I’m missing them.

What’s the latest and greatest? Last I was here the 1/60 VF stuff was hotting up (I had all 1/48 stuff). Is the 1/60 stuff the hot setup now? I’m looking to build my collection back up but for starters I am not looking for any of the real “collector” stuff. I need the basics at this point.

What would you suggest the re-beginning collector should get/start with?

What’s the deal with Yamato I read? Is the stuff they made before imploding still the stuff to have or is everyone waiting on the new stuff from whatever the new company is called?

Tell me anything you think I should know.

    Thanks!

  3. VF-1S Yamato Fokker 1/48 with S&S Parts

I have a huge project that needs to go into production and I am short on cash. Unfortunately it looks like my favorites are up for sale.

I got this in 2006. It has been transformed once and that is it. It has a set of GBP hands (the best looking ones I think) and those custom under the armpit block off jobbies that are hard to get. The only stickers used are the ones on it. The other stickers and both instruction booklets are all still in their original plastic sleeves. I hate to sell this because it is my favorite one. And the chances of being able to re-create it in the future are slim, but it is what it is.

All the parts that come with it are shown.

Unfortunately the boxes were ruined by water damage.

Has been kept in a smoke free environment and never seen sunlight.

Shipping in the lower 48: $25

I ship flat rate FedEx Ground in the continental United States

International / Post office Shipping (this includes P.O. Boxes, CANADA, APO & Military addresses, Hawaii and Alaska):

I have already been asked multiple times about this so I guess I have to address it. International shipping is very inconvenient for me, I have to spend more time packing the item(s) up and dealing with the post office is always frustrating. It takes a large chunk of time out of my day to drop it off and the tracking that USPS offers is not very good. In the past I have been constantly pestered about arrival times and tracking information even though I had zero control over them. In addition to that International shipping is not inexpensive when being shipped Express (the only way I will ship it because it offers tracking and insurance) and most of the time the buyer treats me as if I set the pricing and I am trying to pull ‘A Fast One’ on them.

I will ship internationally under only one set of conditions and they are non negotiable. I priced out shipping with all the bells and whistles and to most countries it is about $100. But history has taught me that once it comes time to pay, fees vary greatly. And as explained above I HATE THE TIME IT TAKES ME TO PROCESS THE ACTUAL SHIPMENT. If you would like international shipping I will require that you pay $150 for shipping when you pay for the item. Once the item is shipped I will refund through Paypal the difference between the actual shipping cost plus $20 for ‘Handling’.

Example: actual shipping cost $105, my handling fee $20, my refund back to you $25.

The shipping label has the price charged printed on it so when you receive the package you will have 100% conformation of its actual cost. I’m sorry I have to be so overly aggressive in regards to international shipping but I have had many, many problems with it in the past and if I had it my way I would never do it again. If you agree to the above terms I will ship internationally. Thanks for your understanding.

    Payment:

If you are interested send me an email to jasonetter78@yahoo.com WITH YOUR PAYPAL EMAIL ADDRESS. I will send over an invoice for you to pay. If the invoice goes unpaid for 12 hours I will have to cancel it and go to the next person in line. In a sense “First Pay, First Serve”.

Any deviation from the payment instructions will get you bumped down the list. Sorry I have to be so harsh but history has taught me that 90% of people want to change something about the deal I am offering. I will make it perfectly clear now, I will not be changing any part of the deal.

    Thanks

  4. MOSPEADA RIDE ARMOR GAKKEN 1/8 Scale

The toy is absolutely 100% mint. It looks brand new despite being 25+ years old. I purchased it new and unboxed it in 2006 (they are going MISB for about $300-400 now). Unfortunately the box was in storage and suffered water damage. I have only transformed it into its current state once. Everything is tight and in perfect condition.

Has been kept in a smoke free environment and never seen sunlight. But, for some reason, and I suspect it is the formulation of the plastic it is slightly yellowed compared to my 1/48 Fokker which I got at the same time and they have been sitting right next to each other. It’s by no means bad and probably has more to do with oxidation than sunlight damage (it could only be reflected light at best).

  9. Agreed.

The honorable thing to do is to man up and pay for the stuff out of [my, yours, yourn] own pocket in order to be able to honor the contract between buyer and seller. It is not the upstream seller's fault when a third party buyer backs out or procrastinates. A middleman always has the ability to sell to another party.

The above is no indictment against anyone participating in this thread, but is fairly basic common-sense logic which should be applied to any 2nd or 3rd party transactions occuring anywhere.

Yeah, no kidding. Isamu test pilot sounds like a real "pass the buck" kind of guy.

Isamu test pilot ordered it, he has to pay for it right away. The third party is irrelevant. They may as well not even exist.

A wise man once told me when I was about 12 years old “A Ma is only as good as his word”. I have stuck with that thought my entire life. And sometimes being true to your word cots you time, money, etc, etc, etc. I have literally, and I am not kidding about this paid over $20,000 out of my own pocket even though it was someone else’s “fault” to make things right in the past year. That was an awful lot of money and it hurt real bad. But you know what? I can sleep at night knowing I did the right thing.

  10. Just an observation...

So basically, the problem started with procrastination and ended with procrastination.

Hmm, who would have known this could be a recipe for a disasterous transaction.

Seems like someone got a taste of their own medicine.

    Again, just an observation.

For the sake of argument we go with your progression of thought. I take a long time to ship the items (which I said would happen before the purchase was made). He keeps the items and does a chargeback through his CC company and ends up with the $$ and the toys. The next logical step (using your progression of thought, right or wrong, or whatever you want to call it) would be for me pay him a visit.

    Lets see:

Took a long time to ship

    Justification to steal

    Justification to “visit”

Yeah, that just about makes sense. If you can’t see that he has STOLEN money/toys from me you are a complete idiot……just an observation.

What, no witty retort? Not even a "You know what, your right man?". Just radio silence?

What are you? 12 years old? When you turn into a Man you will see this for what it is and have the confidence to admit when you were wrong. Avoiding or not being able to admit you were wrong is a wide spread character flaw in this day and age. Everyone is willing to dish it out but not take it. Forums have ruined the days when people were held responsible for what they said.

  12. Squidd, I am sorry to hear about this situation but I have to admit that reading your post was very entertaining to me and I did laugh out loud at the end. I hope that he finally comes through for you and makes up for his BS as well.

I don't think he is smart enough to get this settled.

He has obviously never met anyone like me before. If he takes this all the way I assure you that he will never want to meet anyone like me again. ;)

  13. WARNING!!!!

Don’t do any business with Michael Youn. Unfortunately I don’t have his screen name and he is such a punk he probably won’t post up here and make himself known.

    Honolulu, HI 96818

    United States

So here is what happened. When I was selling a ton of my stuff off (I’m sure most of you remember) Mike wanted to 1/48’s from me. I don’t know if everyone can remember back that far but I made it 100% clear in my “for sale” post that I am a slow shipper and if they can’t handle that then don’t buy from me. Ends up it took me 3 weeks before I shipped his package. The problems started when I accidentally switched shipping labels on two of the boxes that were going out that day (I was shipping about 10). The two I switched had very similar last names. Mike’s stuff went to a guy in CA and the guy in CA’s stuff went to Mike. When it was figured out what happened (I think it was CA guy who knew first) I sent an email to both people asking if they could send the packages to each other and I would Paypal them the shipping money once they knew how much it was. CA guy was a ROCK STAR, he had the package he got shipped off the next day and sent me an email with a total. I Paypal’d him the money. Half the problem solved.

The other half of the problem, Mike was being a little punk. He refused to ship off the package that he had in his hands before I pre-paid for it. Well it’s pretty hard to pre-pay for something when you don’t know how much it is so I asked again if he would just ship it and I would send him the money through PP. No go. Because I don’t like dealing with bullshit I printed a FedEx label off, scanned it and sent it to Mike so he could ship that package off to CA guy right away. I would like to go on record and say it was a LOT more expensive for me to ship it FedEx then USPS but I just wanted the problem to be over.

At this point you think that the problems would be over, but no. Mike asked me for an update on his shipping status to HI and I didn’t have one (remember, I didn’t ship it) so I said I didn’t have one. Apparently Mike has a hard time being told no because he started the chargeback process with his credit card that he used to pay through PP. The little punk didn’t have the balls to tell me he was starting a chargeback, he just did it. That’s totally weak. Passive aggressive crap. Once I see the chargeback I email CA guy and he scans and send me the USPS information and guess what? The package was delivered to Mike that day.

So this is where the fun starts. Mike drags his feet on canceling the chargeback. I threaten to come over to his house and collect the money (I will be in HI next month for a wedding) and he writes me a whiny little email about notifying the authorities if I don’t stop threatening him. Threaten? What threat? I said I was going to come over and get my money. If I were to threaten him it would be 100% clear. It would be something along the lines of:

I’m coming over to your house or work, dragging you out the front door by your hair and then I am going to beat and kick you till all of your ribs are broken.

    That is a threat.
