A few have commented on basically MISB Valks yellowing "in the closet". I wonder if there is an additional factor other than sunlight that causes yellowing. -Temp fluctuations? -Humidity fluctuations? -Off-gassing from materials near the Valk? -All of the above? -None of the above? Styrofoam absolutely off-gases as it breaks down. "Regular" foam does too. That's why when you get a new car the insides of the windows gets foggy at an accelerated rate. That is the seat foam off-gassing. Add big temp and humidity fluctuations to the mix and the window fogging rate changes. And as previously mentioned, the plastic is a factor too. I had a Yamato YF-19 that yellowed pretty bad sitting on a wood laminate bookshelf. No direct sunlight and very little sunlight in the room in general. It was there for about 10yrs. Right next to it was a original Gakken Ride armor. That dude is 35yrs old at this point. It hasn't yellowed one bit.

10.75" tall 11.25" wide 11.5" deep Base is 7" across it's furthest point. Those are Arcadia 1/60's. They fit in a Detolf with plenty of room to spare. If I have some spare time today I'm going to attempt to stuff two 1/48' in there too (different shelf of course). Fingers crossed.

Roger that. Thanks for the outline. I suppose I never thought the process through at all. I knew that FromJapan was going to buy the items for me and their service is processing the order. I didn't think about it past that though. That system is sketchier with private sellers, small fly by night operations, etc. Arcadia I'm not worried about. And at the end of the day there is always the PayPal/CC protections. Thanks!

In theory NY is shipping me a fix it kit. I have another one that needs to be fixed I got from AmazonJP. I'm not having much luck with the seller. Does the post above say Arcadia is shipping the parts direct to customers? Or is it only to retailers then customers?

I'm confused about the board policy of copyright infringement. There has been a very large precedent set by the aftermarket auto parts industry that applies to this. And other points. Can someone explain it to me? -There are oodles of companies that sell exact replicas of OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts. There would be no auto parts stores in this country if that was copyright infringement. There are about as many auto parts stores as there are McDonalds. If the OEM's could sue, those stores would disappear. -More applicable to things like re-cast hands would be the "Hot Rod" parts industry. That industry (the one I'm in) is an almost $300B/yr industry. An industry that does exactly the same thing as making re-cast hands or cavity fillers. And at the extreme end you can buy entire "re-pop" cars now. A 67' Camaro for instance. Per board rules you couldn't do the same thing. Offer a "aftermarket" Valk could you? -In regards to the FEXT (sp) GBP armor that I have seen posted on here. Is that not considered copyright infringement per board rules? Or is it that we can talk about it, but it can't be advertised? What about if it's second hand? -I absolutely understand that it's copyright infringement to sell a product on the board that uses the UN Spacey logo. I'm not trying to rock the boat or argue with board policy. It's a private board, they can do whatever they want. I'm just curious.

So you're the one with all the YF-21's! I've got one. But I really want another so I can display with and without booster at the same time. Man, they're rare now. If one does come up it's either for insane money, damaged, or both.

I don't know the answer to this. That's why I'm asking. Like eBay (technically PayPal I think in the end) does FromJapan guarantee your order. I.E., will they refund your money if the order isn't filled?

I searched, I didn't find anything. I may just suck at searching. Did the Yamato VF-1 1/48's come with cavity fillers? When I was collecting years ago I don't remember the under arm area being so wide open. I have the ones that came with the 1/48 GBP set. But nothing with the few 1/48's I have (which are used). If they didn't come with any. Is someone making them? They can't be hard to 3D print. Thanks!

Yes, I know my cell phone camera kills suck. I'll work on that stuff after I figure out how to set displays up. Just got a batch of YetiStands in. I'm not 100% happy with this, but I think it's going in the right direction. It certainly fees up cabinet space! I think Gerwalk needs ordnance too.

I can't see any other way to do this. But it doesn't allow the wings to get back to "resting position". Not exactly the most aesthetic situation in the world? I'm trying to get this guy on a Yeti Stand and I'd really like the wings tucked all the way in. Got any tricks? Thanks!

That's a good point. Of course nothing including this is simple and one dimensional though. $190 tacked on to my mortgage would absolutely get me into a bigger house. In theory if one is renting it would be the same. Or How much of an addition can you put on your house for $190/mo? I have no idea. I'm not sure how loans for that sort of stuff works. Scratch that, I just did some cypherin'. A $35,000 home equity loan would run you about $200/mo. You can do a pretty good size basic addition for $35K. And in theory it's an investment. Not burned money like rent is. Or If you guys need to clear out some stock let me know. I can send you my wish list.
