  1. This is an old photo I found via Google from @plastik on his For Sale Thread. The original file has already been deleted on his Photobucket album. But basing on the lowres photo on the Google search, you can visualize that it somehow in-scaled to each other. You can pm plastik or wait for his reply or any other members who have both figures to verify on the scale.

    Hope that helps. :)

  2. Here's the blue paint spillover on my YF-25. Still think rubbing alcohol is the way to go?

    *snip photo*

You can try and use a pointed Q-Tip. And just use the pointed area of the tip. Just be sure to dab lightly with alcohol.

For safety, better put a Tamiya masking tape and apply it on the edge of the blue painted area instead of applying the tape on the top part. Then apply the alcohol-dipped Q-Tip. Hope that helps. :)

  3. Loving the Fighter mode with this add-on parts. And kinda weird looking to see the boosters pointing down in Battroid mode. But I love the shoulder missile pods in Battroid mode though. :D

I can't remember who posted a photo of the Arcadia YF-19 with the DX VF-25F Super Pack's boosters. But I was trying last night the same thing putting the boosters on my YF-19. Kinda worried on scratching the paint so I just extended the wings and let the booster rests on the metal hinges. :)

  4. He may well be a leader type person lol.

I was on Jungle the other day and saw that Valk plus armour for reasonable money. The Valk was B graded with slight damage to box, the armoured parts were minty sealed fresh. Got them both delivered plus fees to UK for £300. They let you choose to have them sent as a gift too so that will help dodge ridiculous customs charges.

So I had to promise no more valks for a while to keep the other half sweet.

I also told myself the same thing. But that was 2 Valks ago right after I said I'm not gonna buy for now after purchasing those Alto's expensive 2 Packs. Hahaha! :D

Just like the famous quote from a well-known snack: "One you pop, you just can't stop."

  5. I want one too!

Btw, is TREX the original ones who created the option parts for the Yamato VF-1's? Before it was available bundled with the 30th Anniv repackaged VF-1's? Would it be possible down the line that Arcadia will reissue the YF-19 without the missles but bundle it with these Frontier packs ala-35th Anniv repackage? Anyways, hope they will release this soon. :)

  6. Great photos once again, Saburo! You might want to try and do a custom Paladin Parts by mixing Super and Armored next time. ;)

By the way, how's the blue from the 25G and the YF-25? Do they have the same shade? Again, great photos. :)

  7. @aaajin

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try to open this baby over the next weekend to see how badly the crack inside and to study how to reinforce the insides. Also, did you repaint the whole thigh after the superglue dried up? Or the whole thing is exposed during Battroid mode? Can you post pictures when you have time. Love to see how you repaired yours. Thanks in advance. :)

    @David Hingtgen

Would love to try that soon. I was browsing some videos from Youtube on the best plastic cement and this is mentioned on the video as well. I know those will kinda melt the plastic portion where the cement is applied. And when you say apply superglue externally, this is the exposed cracked lines, correct? And sand it afterwards too? Can you also post photos of our repaired thighs? Thanks. :)

Also, I'm just wondering, does applying 'resin' on top helps reinforcing the ABS plastic? I do really love transforming my valks so I'm just looking for ways on how to make the repair long life. I'm also thinking that by painting it, it means that I'm going to scratch the paint time and again by transforming the valk. If resin will be the tough agent on fixing this then I need to find a way on making a custom-colored resin so the only thing I'll do is to sand it without the thought of scratching the paint afterwards.

Again, thanks for all the suggestions. :)

  8. Ok, so now after I transformed it to Battroid mode, the crack on the thigh got worse. I guess, this will stay in Fighter mode for the foreseeable future until Arcadia decides to make a renewal. If not, is there someone who could point me to the right direction on how I can reinforce the thigh before it really brakes (crack plastic to fall off)? I don't mind the puttying, sanding, painting and all as long that it will really hold the plastic for future transformation. Any same experience with your copies of YF-21/VF-22's?

Anyways, thanks in advance. Looking forward to your insights.

  9. I tried, I really did, I don't think my figures were defective, I just didn't get the head/neck area, it was just too over-engineered, it just wasn't working for me. I tried watching every video I could, I even got like 6 different very helpful MW members to send me pics and try to help me out, but it just didn't help, I couldn't figure it out. I don't own any Macross Frontier mecha anymore except for my 29 Anniversary, it's cool, but once again, I'm never ever going to try transforming it, it went to gerwalk once and that's it, I may keep it, but I've been thinking about selling it lately and spending the money on some Power Rangers legacy items instead.

I agree. That's the only part I'm having trouble transforming it at first. It's easy to transform the head from fighter to battroid. But putting it back to fighter mode is where I always encounter the sliding problem. But all is good now after transforming it for more than 3x. ;)

  10. Looking closely though they look like they are still detached, but close to being locked in.

Yeah, they're still detached in those photos.

Actually, I did check the photos afterwards and compared it side-by-side with the profile shot of the fighter mode, and you guys are correct. I guess the whole pelvic area will be detached when it enters Gerwalk mode. I really hope that this one is really super tight and not to hard to open it when we try to tighten it once the joints get loose. It's always a given to assume that all the joints will be loose after 1 to 2 transformations.

  11. Congrats guys on your YF-25 Prophecy purchases. Especially those who buy multiple copies and display each modes. I envy your purchasing powers. Hope I can do that in the future too. Hahaha! And I'm glad that everyone's liking it. ;)

Saburo, man, your photos are great as always. Love it. :) But unfortunately, it still doesn't make me feel sorry that I cancelled my preorder. Hahaha! j/k

  12. What's with the YF-21 right leg, why is it taped? Plus I am so jeolous that the nose on your 19 locks into the cockpit section.

It's not a tape, it's the original plastic wrap that came with it. Bought this second-hand on eBay without the original owner removing it. So I assumed it was never been transformed. I believe it was only displayed in fighter mode. I felt bad now since I know for a fact that it was never been transformed, it's me who gave him the cracked bruises on the thigh.

You can check my post on this thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=27704&p=1129290.

And maybe you can give me any advice on how to repair it.

By the way, what's wrong with your 19 not locking on the cockpit?

  13. I never liked the wings on thighs design... I hope that it never comes back.

best part of the valk ;)

Yeah, me too. :D It's kinda nice to see different Valks in toy form that has the wings on the sides instead of the traditional backpack wings. That makes the YF-21 unique since it has both wing backpacks, and side panels huge like wings. But down part is, it limits the movement of the figure since the side panel bumps always on the main thrusters backpack.

    I agree ;)

And I like the YF-21 being taller than the YF-19 becauese it's a meaner machine!

I did try again this afternoon to check the YF-19 and YF-21 in their proper ankle joint extended and somehow it really looks better than the one I posted earlier (comparison photo #2). So, true, that YF-21 looks meanier when he's taller than YF-19. I'll try to post new photo next time. :)

Thanks guy's for you pics, waoooouu it's really bigger the YF 21, do you thinking Arcadia project to make a new one YF 21?

You're welcome. Hope the photos helped you. ;) Are you trying to purchase each of this valks? And YES, I do wish Arcadia will touch this blue bird once again. Since I already messed up one of the thigh by transforming it. So now my YF-21 is fixed in fighter mode as of this moment. It would be cool to display one valk and one battroid mode. Another reason is, this bird is really hard to transform.

They need to. It's another one of Yamato's "figher over everything else" designs.

Battroid and Gerwalk are just a complete insult to fans of these modes.

    It's not THAT bad.

YF-19 battroid mode looks good... YF-21 battroid mode could look better though.

Agree. They don't look so bad. :) I really do love how they look except for the YF-21 legs. And I prefer this version than their 1/72 counterparts. If only they could make something a cross of the GNU-Dou YF-21 Battroid mode, which IMO the best YF-21 Battroid mode, and the Yamato 1/60 YF-21 Fighter mode, then all is right in the world. ^_^

I also think it could be better, but I like it anyway. And such a beautiful fighter mode!!!

Amen to that. The fighter mode was their selling point. ;)

I also prefer my YF-21/VF-22's in fighter mode. If Arcadia revisits the 21/22 series I would like to see bigger legs.

Me too. GNU-Dou legs and proportion please. Heck, they can even retain the shortened nose cone design. :D

  14. True. The one click ankle for YF-19 for Battroid mode is the proper way (as per manual) which I didn't do it here since the ankle on my YF-19 is quite loose. However, I did try doing that and it still didn't help. The YF-21 (on his proper Battroid leg extended) looks really big over Arcadia's YF-19. Remember that the Arcadia version is now shorter in height compared to the original Yamato release by about 2cm. This is by following the revisions done in VF-19Kai. By extending 2 clicks on the ankle joint, which is for Gerwalk mode use, the YF-19 will look awkward in Battroid mode besides the YF-21.

You can still check Reivaj post before my comparison post. The YF-19 there uses the proper extended ankle. But do note that the YF-21 on that picture is not using the proper extended leg.

My conclusion is, YF-21 is a taller than both versions of YF-19. But this time, it really did make him more taller since Arcadia's YF-19 is now shorter than it's Yamato's counterpart. Based on anymoon's site, Yamato YF-19 stands 25.25cm; Yamato VF-19Kai stands 23.5cm (almost the same with Arcadia's release); Yamato YF-21 stands roughly at 26.5cm.

  15. The intakes on the YF-30 detach in Gerwalk mode. It was always going to be on the ball joint.

I'm assuming we can still put back the intakes during Gerwalk mode. But it will just limits the swivel joint movement. I really don't mind if I limit the swivel joint by doing that. As long that it will not get too loose. :)

    Gerwalk is for jerks :D

    I like Gerwalk on my YF-29s :(

I'm a jerk for loving YF-19's Gerwalk mode. Hence, my avatar. Hahaha! :D
