  1. Saw the leaked pilot too. It's like watching a superhero version of Ugly Betty. The only 2 thing I really like is first, the heat vision effect, it's better than Man of Steel's. And second, the 2 known 'Supers' actors playing her parents.

  2. Evolution Toys mainly release diecast toys, quality is quite good. I have their Zero Tester. They are quite small for the price tag though.

From the pics this ain't a model kit. Most likely comes with diecast parts.

Regarding the tab on the top, you can always cut it if it bothers you so much.

Guess the tab is there for a 'purpose'. And you can't just cut it unless you want the parts to be loose upon transformation. The way I see it on the picture, the tab is somehow or will be connected to the back part area in Fighter mode. It's just a bother to some since it's exposed. Hope they find a way to fix that or redesign the tabs for transformation.

Or in this case - just SAP : /

    +1

  3. For future reference on other VF-25 Tornado owners, would enlarging the hole a little in the legs armor helps not to break or snap the peg? I have the Tornado parts and up to now I haven't use the leg armors yet. I just bought it for the wing and cannons. But does enlarging it kinda helps? Thanks in advance. ;)

  4. I couldn't find the old Arcadia 1/60 YF-19 thread... so here's what I just finished! Finally after a year of nakedness... I managed to make some combination of decals, rub-on transfers and some very special help from an old friend on these boards. These are the markings that should have been tampo printed on a $400 toy! The panel lines are too shallow to hold any wash, so I used a very sharp 4H mechanical pencil to line them (the flaps and moveable surfaces are a black wash) and did a very light "post-shading" with pencil filings and a smudge stick (very light since its a new demonstrator aircraft). Finally it was all sealed in with a semi-gloss future clear coat to protect the custom rub-on transfers and post shading. I added a dab of silver to the landing gear struct and it improves it a lot IMHO. I guess the VF-0D is next, but the salt weathering has me cautious.

Great job Mr. Cheng! Love the subtle look of the decals.

Btw, I notice the different shade of beige on the shoulder swivel part and the wing joint that connects to the thigh. Is this because of the top coat or just the lighting effect only? Thanks. ;)

  5. that game play looks pretty cool! Might have to get me a PS3 just for this game!

Hahaha! I'm thinking the same thing, spanner. Should I buy PS4 just for Batman Arkham Knight game.

But overall Macross 30 is a great game. Fun to play with. Not so sure regarding replay value though. I started the New Game Plus thing months ago and somehow got tired of playing it again just to get the upgraded blueprints. But flying the Valk is so cool. ^_^

  6. dang it looks good...but dat price. is it me or is it even higher than the 0d? cmon preorder discounts...please be more substantial! should i just skip and wait for the 0S? also who knows if this will be close the final colors, the 0D's first colored photos were not even close. i guess at this point i'm a fan of the valks more than the anime (for zero) so as long as it looks great i want it.

hmm 20% discount. looks like it will be about $300 usd with shipping. wonder how much hlj's will be.

    Rest assured, it's lower than 0D. ^_^

  7. Thank you so much, Noel!! That was EXACTLY what I needed to do, and now my belly plates are nice and flush!!!

I never would have guessed you could push that joint in another notch (it doesn't feel like it can at all!), but your guidance and method worked like a charm. Using your technique the joint actually moved to that extra notch fairly smoothly. Thank you for once again helping me out, Noel. :D

You're welcome Keiichi. Glad to be of help. ^_^

  8. Noel, can you please explain in as much detail as you can what you are doing to make that black dot disappear?

I used to be able to transform the VF-22S with my eyes closed, but I eventually sold all my VF-22S off. Now I've re-bought Gamlin's VF-22S (and a YF-21 :D ) and I'm totally lost, haha. The previous owner tried to transform his VF-22S back into fighter mode, but he wasn't able to get his legs into position so the belly plates cannot close. I can see those black dots on both knees but I cannot figure out what I need to do to get rid of them; it doesn't feel like I can push the gerwalk joint in any further, if I straighten the legs the dots are still there, and bending the legs does not help either.

My YF-21 came in a properly transformed fighter mode, and if I move aside the belly plates I can see that the black dots on the knees are hidden, so I know that I need to do the same on the VF-22S, but I just can't figure it out.

Hey Keiichi. Sure. I can do that with the best of my knowledge without the help of pictures. ^_^

Basically, we really need to hide that black dot in order to flush in the legs inside the bay so that the bay door will close properly. In order to put back the legs inside from Gerwalk or Battroid mode. After you straighten the legs from Gerwalk, you will notice the black dot on the side of the knee joint. And this is the part where you say, 'I already did pushed the knee back from Gerwalk'. Remember that in Gerwalk mode, the knee extends to expose the rotating joint area. After you pushed the joint back in, you really need to push one more to hide the dot. The best way to do that is, hold the upper leg area (thigh) with one hand, while the other hand is holding the lower leg area, and at the same time, put your thumb at the back of the knee joint. With a little force from the thumb, try to push the knee joint upward, the same motion when you push back the joint to hide the extended rotating joint from Gerwalk. Once you successfully pushed that back in, you will hear a 'click' sound. And voila! The dot is already hidden at the edge of the thigh part. ;)

Hope that helps. Let me know the outcome. ^_^

  9. I speak no Japanese but if google translate doesnt fail me, Mr K is saying this will have the gray goggles? I asked if it included the gray goggles. At first he said no that gray had been done before. Minutes later he responded with this. If it is indeed gray, saved me some money because i almost bought the old bundle today :D

    *snip*

Cool! No need to use paint or marker. ;)
