  1. Ok , I´ve seen a trend with resent topics , we all end up discussing about their past and future works comparing them and reaching almost no definitive consensus.

I´ve been collecting their toys since the days of the M+ toys when they were going to release them in the states and all that.

Then they amazed us with the 1/60s as we never saw better renditions (1/55 and banpresto lovers could disagree) and shortly after with the awesome 1/48 which just plainly went out of our expectations.

Taking all that into account , what´s your take on the current and future situation with Yammies ?

Also , don´t wanna start another thread so I´ll ask this right here but , would fans want other companies to integrate into the valkyrie market ? kinda like Bandai or someone else ?

  2. I was making fun of the pic fo sho, but something's not right. Between the Yamato proto pic and the mag pic, either a lot has changed on the latest sculpt, or they simply did not transform it correctly AT ALL.

Cause the Yamato pic looks pretty darn good. I'm hoping that's all it is. I mean, look at the feet...something serioiusly wrong there with that big gap on the green monster from the mag, and the legs. Please tell me it was just transformed wrong.

*UNGH* THAT's gotta be one of my NUMBER ONE pet peaves: Promo pics with horrible poses and incorrectly-transformed toys.

Man, if I was the sculptor of a beautiful masterpiece, you'd be SURE I'd be there making sure the photographer does justice to my creation, if not heading the photoshoot myself! I bet there are a lot of sculptors out there crying from the bad pics photographers shot of their works.

Thanksfully it seems those guys at Dengeki haven´t got a clue about transforming toys and just did this the wrong way. :)

    STILL...

That doesn´t mean those ¨Claws¨ are in any way acceptable or that the paint job is even right.

Why claws instead of removable stiff/posable hands ? I mean , that wouldn´t been wrong at all , it isn´t like there is no room at all for real hands o

n this toy , look at it.<_<

And the colours are just too damn dark right now , hope they realise this.

I´m still gonna buy one as far as I´m concerned B))

  3. Damn at last we get some pics of this thing in Battroid

Looks good so far , I don´t like the head sculpt that much but oh well , is it me or does the paint look darker that what we´ve seen earlier ?

aren´t the back of the legs suppossed to look different ?

  4. Uh  ? I didn´t know Banprestp was making VF-0 toys ?.....mmm.wait , it ain´t a presto , IT¨S A YAMATO.

sorry to say this but if they´re actually gonna sell that POS that just proves they´ve become a bunch of lazy fat-asrses.

How can they ignore the the fairly good sucsess of the OVAs and make this kind of toys , have they got no self-respect ?

I hate to rant about yamato since they´ve given us some very good quality toys but this crap is utterly unacceptable from those very same people that made the 1/48.

  5. With the excetption of the VF-1 and Zero, that is the collest transformable plane I've seen.

    It rocks.

i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks that

    Me too ;)

You guy must check out this guy works , it has some awesome Gundam drawings I love that sketchy Cell-shaded-ish look

  6. Welcome ! Congratulations for finding this little corner for Macross fans

It´ll be great to see your work , any custom is welcomed here , we have a kind of addiction to that here ;):D

  7. While it looks very nice, why didn't they do something with a supped up red frame

Please, be careful what you wish for.

    mbf-p02-powered.jpg

Cooooool , those actually look nice , not gundam looking at all of course (which is a good thing , taking into account the Astray looks quite different from your usual MS).

The top one reminds me of the Alien cargo Robot that Ripley uses against the Queen Alien , wonder how small a person would look like compared to it , imagine , a giant mecha armour for an already huge mecha , that´s just top notch , the one in the bottom looks a lot like Tekkaman Blade :)

  8. I remeber we had a long debate about whether it was designed by Kawamori himself or not , I´ve yet to hear any definitive prove or either position but I hope it does , though from what I remember it didn´t appear on MDW book

Yup, I was a doubter. Looking at this picture, though, I think it was designed/drawn by Kawamori. The shape of the nose cone looks like an early version of his later Valks.

Yeah , there are a lot of things in the design that make me believe it was Kawamori-sama , that or the guy who did the 1SOL is now helping Kawamori with the designs in M0.

Notice the the incredibly VF-0-ish looking joints on that valk

the head unit compared to the VF-0S

    the nosecone

    the feet

    the hands

We could keep this on and on . IMO this is no coincidence , there are too many similarities between the two designs , something which is quite interestig considering the 1SOL design is A LOT older than the VF-0S.

  9. Awesome! A VF-1 with a Sound Booster! :p

I never knew lineart of this Valkyrie existed, much less that it was designed by Kawamori himself. I always assumed it was by Ohta or another of the ELS designers. If you don't mind my asking, which book was this scanned from?

Funny but those ain´t sound boosters , itwas never mentioned in Scrambled valk that it was a sound booster , I would say it´s more of a energy abosrbtion pod or something else.

  10. mmmmm ?

It says the site will be back soon , why the topic on the VF-1SOL  ?

Anyway , I assume you´ve done a page on this valk so I´m eagerly expecting it  :)

Thanks for working so hard for us fans ;)

Have you seen any other Macross site with VF-1SOL-S lineart? : )

It must be seen by fans.

Soory , for some reason I couldn´t see the pic on the page.

Now , after seen such a beauty I have to say : WHY THE HECK YAMATO CAN´T PRODUCE A TOY OF THE 1SOL !!!!!:lol:

In the VF-1 vs VF-0 debate thread a long time ago I used the 1SOL as a refference for my theory on the ramifications of the VF-0 testbed trials (if

the 1SOl was cannon of course)

I´ve said this many times before but MHO is that the 1SOL should be the basis as to how the VF-1 should look like in Ep.5 if it was to appear.

Awesome mecha design , wish it was more sgowcased in hobby mags or illustrations.

  11. I still can't see the landing gear and the machine gun, but I'm sold anyway

I don't think the VB-6 has any landing gear. None is shown in the line-art and in the VF-X2 opening movie, the VB-6 transforms from Shuttle to Gerwalk mode as it lands.

    Graham

Good point , I remeber the VF-X2 Op. animation.

The Koenig would certainly look bad with tiny looking landing gears , it´s far too wide for that.

  12. it's a serie, I've seen the first 4 episodes and I liked it! the mech thinks in it are pretty cool to..

    It has Mechas ?

    Kurosawa+anime+mechas = mmmmm...interesting.

The design looks awesome , I´ll have to check it out. Can´t be that bad hopefully

Anything done by GONZO has 80% chance of turning sour by the last few eps of a show.

Yeah I´ve noticed that trend but if they follow the original story closely then there´s nothing to worry about ;) .......mmmm...wait a sec....THEY HAVEN¨T !:lol:

Gues that means this series will be a hit-or-miss kinda series as well :p (hopefully not)

  14. Gundam used to be revolutionary, until they started with this alternate universe bullshit. Now it's just a marketing gimmick.

Gundam is popular for a reason. It used to be about the story, not the models, toys, and the shitload of merchandise that goes along with every new Gundam release.

If you don't see it, then too bad, but no one is forcing you to like it. Gundam fans just want you to acknowledge that without Gundam, Macross would not be the same Macross as you know it today.

What I don´t get though is how can Gundam be that popular now if true fans acknowledge the fact that it´s no longer the same revolutionary gundam it once was.

If people know Gundam is NOW all about the merchandise and little about new plots or more original characters why do they keep suppporting it and buying all the models and toys and whatnot ?

I´m not a Gundam hater but I do think Gundam has lost merits along the years for allowing the franchise go too pop-culture orientated and not exploring more of what was seen in the UC line.

I can stand the repetitive mecha designs but the lack of interest in exploring new themes and plots is just overwhelming.

  15. CAn can I say , Thanks lads

Those pics looks awesome , now that I´ve seen all those varaints I love the Astray even more :D:)

    It´s definitive then , I´ll get the 1/100 ;)

One more question though , what´s that Seed/MSV promo oav thing ?

Is it a new OVA series focused on the Astray or what ?

  16. I´ve been browsing through the net for some weeks in search of a good quality , easy to build , neat looking Gundam Astray (red frame) kit and I hae to say , damn is it hard to find a reliable shop selling it

So in my quest for a nice astray kit I came across two items which stole my attention :

    a) The 1/144 High Grade kit

    and

    b) The 1/100 scale kit

I´ve seen very few pics of both on the net but from what I saw the two of them seem to have a similar degree of articulation and detail (haven´t seen them on person though).

So here´s my question : Which is superior ? Which are the pros and cons of each kit ?

I would tend to think that the 1/100 is the best kit since it´s bigger but that little High Grade Title of the 1/144 kit is distracting.

    *(note: I do know that there´s a crapy 1/144 kit and a HG version ;) )

Oh , And I would like to know if anyone knows which kit is this custom based on , the 1/144 or the 1/100 ? (difficult but if anyone knows please tell me , thanks)

    Cheers

  17. Mugen is a wandering swordsman with an unorthodox fighting style somewhat similar to capoeira

Just a correction there , many people over the net have mistaken Mugens style for capoeira when it´s actually closer to Break Dancing , you wouldn´t be seeing those kind of moves if he was trying to pull off some capoeria stuff (he hardly does any kicking or dancing)

    Doh , I forgot to`post my comments.

What can I say , this anime has everything going for it , from the director to the art and music , it certainly holds a lot of potential. So far it has shown a lot of signs that th plot will get more complex.
