I find it interesting that so many people here (who obviously are all Macross fans) seem to dislike Gundam. Now, there's no need to get into history here, but our beloved Macross wouldn't exist without Gundam. And really, how are the original Macross and Gundam series any different from each other? They both go hand in hand as all-time classics. As far as Gundam's commercial aspects, that's the way nearly ALL mecha series are. I'm to understand the point of Macross ISN'T to show off cool Valkyries? But the point of Gundam is just new suits? Very rarely do you see non-commercial mecha anime. About the only ones I can think of that I've seen are Turn A Gundam, Gasaraki, and to a certain extent Patlabor. As for some series like SEED or Wing, the point is to sell toys and the toys dictate the story. However, you also have series like the original and Turn A, where the point is to tell a good STORY. As is the point of Macross. Gundam is certainly not lame...and without it we wouldn't be here today on this forum.

Here's some particularly bad examples from various projects by them: -Macross Zero, Skull Squadron is translated as Scar Squadron. -Also in Macross Zero, they translate AFOS as Air Force, despite AFOS appearing on screen in BIG ENGLISH LETTERS. -Someone already mentioned Nazca in SEED being translated as Nascar. -The best would be the "mass naked children events" from GitS: SAC. Maybe someone could dig up a screenshot of that.

Given the Bandai marketing monster, i expect at least two games next year for the US: 1. The SEED PS2 game to coincide with the American release of the series. 2. AEUG vs Titans to coincide with American release of Zeta. Since the Bandai marketing monster likes multimedia tie-ins, having these suckers appear alongisde DVDs and MSiAs seems highly likely.

The episode #106 you're reffering to is definitely not episode 106. It's the production number, and the designation probably means it's the 6th episode produced for the first season.

Don't listen to people who say G Gundam is just 'DBZ meets Gundam'. At it's core it has a great story about family, betrayal and the evils of technology that doesn't seem apparent when you just look at the fighting or the designs. Same goes for Turn A, which is a fantastic series. I have a real problem when people say they don't like it or rate the overall quality of the series on just the mecha designs. The two don't go hand in hand. Imagine if someone said: "Yeah, that old Macross show is a piece of crap because it has these weird looking chicken-legged Regult things!" P.S.
