  1. he was only a ecepticon for about 15mins as he seen starscream which was his collegue before the war they were exploring planets etc, jetfire( skyfire) has always protected life and doesnt want to destroy it he only became a decepticon as he thought the or was told the autobots were evil, until he rescued spike and sparkplug off an iceberg and took them to see megatron, where he choose to keep them captive and told megatron that no harm would come to them, but the decpeticons didnt like that as he had no rite or something then when starscream went to destroy some of teh atobots jetfire rebelled i think and starscream blew him away, only to e repaired by ratchet and then he became and autobot yes the colour scheme had not changed on him, mainly because he was going to become and autobot, but i bet if he stayed a decepticon then the colour would of been different, like the pics above i think also on the grey paint, i have a load of tamiya acrylics here, so ill take a look and do some tests to get the rite shade im looking for, i just dont have any purple yet!
  2. ill take alook into colour schemes, but he is going to go a grey colour as he doesnt look correct with white and purple stickers and it is about getting teh correct shade of purple aswell i do have a macross jetfire here, not in the best of condition, but he is staying with my macross valks, my best one is the one i have boxed which is an inbetween a macross and a bandai valk
  3. ive actually emailed this chap and he got back to me today, he basically paid someone to do it and make the box a few years ago but he carnt find the blokes email address, which is a shame as id love the box im tempted to go that colour scheme, but with the armour purple, im not sure, think ill have to experiment lol i class an evil jetfire as a different colour and of course decepticon insignia on him, though i do have a grey macross sticker aswell which is just the rite size for the wing lol as ssoon as i get the last bits of armour ill start the thread
  4. just wondering if anyone has done an evil jetfire from the bandai 1/55 mould as im lookig for reference pics ive just dismantled my spare jetfire, and im waiting on the custom stickers from repro labels but i need to get a couple of bits of armour first and a gun but im unsure on what colour scheme to go for i was looking at all the white bits will be a light greyish colour, armour would either be dark purple or a slightly different grey to the body if anyone has any pics id be very gratefull so i have an idea, this will be my first custom ive done and im looking forward to doing it and ill post pics once i start thanks
  5. do you mean items (plastics) that have already yellowed or when they yellow after painting if the 1st then theres no way of reversing the yellowing no matter how much polish you do as its a chemical reaction within the plastic
  6. i would say thats the finishing touch adding that desk and roy sat there lol looks excellent so jealous and i so want one lol
  7. that is fantastic excellent work on that, you should start making them into productions as id imagine they would sell very very well

  9. mechtech ive been looking for somewhere in nuneaton but had no luck, i will try these though good idea on the sprues though thankyou, but practice makes perfect lol mixing paint i mean about thinners, like when people say 2:1 etc, i know what it means i just need to know how they go about measuring it chalks i wont use im afraid as i dont know how they would react to when i want to seal the model
  10. i have a wave vf-0s to do and a vf-0s reactive armour im going to take my time, ive also just bought an ultra sonic cleaner aswell soi can clean all the pars in there another thing im confused about is mixing the paint in how do you do it or easy method of doing it as i carnt find an info on it
  11. i use a gundam marker for my gundam kits ive built, but even the finest point i find it goes on to quick and is a pain to get off aswell so i would like to try the oil paints as a lot of people seem to have great success with these, plus once sort of dry a bit of spirt will take the extra off ive heard, but depends on what clear coat i use, mostly i will be using klear floor polish i think it is, but ive never actually done anything like this before so want to get everythiing correct and have the correct tolls and accessories i need before i start
  12. hello was wondering if anyone could help me in telling me the basics of what i need to get to start modelling so far i have compressor dual action air brush exo knifes cutters dremel needle files this is what im planning on getting as i know im going to need this tamiya acrylic paint tamiya thinners cotton buds/ q tips cocktail sticks tamiya masking tape paint brushes modelling mat no there is some things imnot sure on, being in the uk and model shops miles away im stuck with ebay lol what i need to know is about glues/epoxy resins etc, also decal setting solutions, polishing compounds and filler (putty) as i havnt a clue on this lot also what oil paint to get and stuff i need for this for panel lining so any help would be much appriciated as i have a lot of time on my hands and need something to do and i have 2 macross kits here that havnt been touched for 3 years and i have a gundam kit on its way lol thankyou

  14. they look stunning wow is the only thing i can say did you buy these already built and painted?
  15. ok thats not a problem i take it is best to use oils for panel lining but really thinned down like water and just dab it into the groove and let it run etc? have i got it rite im best of coating it then applying decals, caoting it again, then panel lining then using a flat caot to finish the model what about weathering, i know this is an art all by itself,so when you do weathering is it worth leaving the final coat and do the weathering after the panel line and decal settings, then applying a flat coat to seal t all id like to know what dry brushing is aswell and washes etc, i read the terms but carnt find much info about it
  16. thankyou i was going to order the gundam strke freedom off them as they have the best price for it, i will check to see if they have them in stock first now beofr i order ive got my airbrush, got the machine mart one today, and just waiting on the compressor will take a trip to supermakrets next week and get some window lene and klear just read the article the complete future, thankyou for the tip as that is really helpful 1 question though when i paint my model and i want to seal it i use the klear yes once dry i can apply the decals and seal it again then i can panel line(still need to look into this) but what do i use to take off the panel lines spillage without damaging the klear woul it be windowlene? and then after panel lining i can apply a flat coat to seal everything have i got that correct?
  17. where would i get this klear from the tamiya thinners i seen on ebay think it was a shop called model-direct
  18. thankyou ive looked at the ones in machine mart and i have to go down there this week to get a new jetwash anyhow, so may aswell pick this one up whilel im down there i think im going to go for the tamiya paints as these seem to be widely available but is theer 2 different sorts? acrylic and enamel? or is it just one type also would i have to thin the paint down like you do in automotive paint? ive found the big bottles of tamiya thinners so can get these also looking into is it micro sel and mciro so for the decals? and another thing im curious about is priming when i prime once dry to i flat it? for the aint to stick better also what do i use for panel lining, as ie heard im supose to laquer the model with gloss is it, then panel line using anoil based or enamel paint then laquer again, then apply the decasl then use a flat laquer over the model carnt you tell im new at this, but ive always asked questions before i take anything big on and i appriciate your help alot as its always nice to learn
  19. thankyou i won the compressor at £82 which i didin think was too bad after reading up on them, as it seems to be one of the best to use, so will see how i get on with it when it arrives with regards to an airbrush, ive seen this one, i know its cheap like but is is this the sort of thing i need with the jars with pipes in? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Black-Air-Brush-Kit-...1QQcmdZViewItem
