very true but at least 1/60 so its in scale with theri old VF-1s and its BIGGER. aint nouffn wrong with that. hell even 1/48. i saw a 1/48 F-14 this weekend and whil its significantly bigger than a VF-1, its not a B-52 sized bird like some of u exeagerate it to be.

uh. waht do the MPC alphas have to do with this? those arent macross so sorry buddy those dont count. ANd not everyone is a hypocrit like you like to think. There are some who like the MPC on this board and again like i always say a lot who hate it for good reason. COmpare a 1/48 and an MPC and its like a god compared to a insect. I doubt someone would take down MPC alphas just kuz its toynami. You keep thinking people hate the MPCs just because of HG wwhen the real reason people hate them is because the quality on most of them is horrible.

no it doesnt because the 1/48s problems are not as bad as the MPCs. For the most part the 1./48s...some had missing parts, seam across cockpit, loose canopy, misglued seats. the MPC it was backpack not attached to toy or broken off in box, LOOSE RATCHETS on volumes 1-3(most of them are loose), paint on all heads is rather ridiculous, visors are not painted good i mean, light shines through visors since paint is not opaque enough, diecast swing bars have smudges, head lasers bent inwards(skull 1 MPC), leg armor not staying on. Thos problems far outway the problems on the 1/48. Id rather have a loose canopy, skull 1 1/48 with gap on cockpit rathe than a MPC skull 1 with LOOSE ratchets, mud smudges, and head lasers bent inwards and armor panel that wont stay on the leg armor pieces. I dont know if you gto a 1.48 but i got a hikaru 1S and 2 MPCs and myt 1/48s quality is MUCH better than the MPC ever will be. MPC is a decent toy but is marred by bad qc problems. oh and 1/48 Is a GREAT TOY. quality problems for the most part have been minimal on this board compared to 1/60s, MPCS, abnd VF11B ver. 1

BINaltech and alternators have no anime whatsoever and as far as hasbro is concerned are NOT g1. (who gives not like i follow them). yet those are selling mighty well. AS far as hasbro and takara are concerned it is a totally new line. u dont see g1 labels on binaltechs boxes now do you? latest microman dont got an anime. like i said toys dont need a cartoon to sell them.

There is no reason why they are stopping all Macross development for the future. EXACTLY. DYrl is 20 yrs old. yamato made a VF-1 that noone thought they would ever make. on a 20 yr old OVA. wih 2 scales 1/60 and 1/48. macross 0 is relatively new. 1/100 is first release. whos to say they will stop>? Not every fan in japan is a gundam fan. MAcross still has a presence and if they didnt yamato would jsut stop.

MPC could have been a great TOY had its quality control problems been ironed out BEFORE production. that did not pick up till the max version came out and even now i hear of YF1R's having problems. with the 1/48 yes yaamto could destroy HG. if the VF-0 1/100 has tight hips unlike that of the 1/60 it can most likelky be a better toy than the MPC. transformation will probably only take 30 seconds form the way graham described it. its really jsut rearranding parts and changind the nose. nost nose and additional part just nose connected to something.

PWAH yea right. yamato is known for combining perfect variable ability with bad ass aesthetics and awesome detail. what makes you think they would stop at a small ass 1/100 toy? macross 0 aint even DONE yet and hell yamato is smart they will milk that bitch till its dry. if they can milk the 20 yr old macross DYRL movie with a bunch of toys you can sure as hell bet they will do the exact same to a relatively new macross OVA that aint even finished yet. 1/100 is just a start. last ditch? nope. look at the super poseable alpha figures. those werent old. when they came out they wer ethe first super psoeable alphas. they werent exactl;y goldmine toys. Yep couple stores had to discount their asses to get them off the shelf. how about the SD morphers. those aint sell that well either. and the keychains. the MPC. when all is said and done robotech merchandise hasnt exactly FLOWN off shelves. its only done that on discount. SEVERE mass discount i might add./

to be honest it was only after i got the toys that i wanted to se the cartoon. i didnt even know a cartoon existed till i saw a commercial after getting my first transformers. seeing the commercial revealed to me that "hey theres a cartoon and storyline for these cool". my appetite was still wet with toys only. cartoon was cool but the toys are waht did it for me and many other kids.

After getting the toys i saw the cartooon which i did like but the toys for what they were were good for its time. out of all the domestic lines here transformers was the best selling transforming robot line of the 80s in the US. and not all of rthem sucked. People bought RID kuz the toys rocked we all know the cartoon sucked. Beast machines toy and carton sucked cept for that big ass exclusive primal that they sold at tru. so the cartoon dont always sell the toy. RID is proof of that. people bought it up kuz it was a loine of vehicle altmodes with beast wars articulation. NOT for the cartoon.

robotech aint selln well right now while transformers is,. thats my point. macross is doing good, 0 got the best OVA award. IM not sure maybe u think i think macross is the almighty god send anime that everyone likes but i dont think its likle that i think it has a strong following eclipsed by gundam fans. Most of the diehard transfans are g1 fans who saw robotech growing up. go to tf boards the majority of them are not kids. majority of fans in the US yes kids but a very strong presence is us collectors that are older and make up the majortiy of the members on boards. All im sayhing is give the japanese some credit. its not like hasbro did all this from scratch. convoy was an important mecha in diaclone., bam theres a leader right there. im not surprised marvel and hasbro decided to morph him into a sentinet character and a leader of all things. A number of japanese transformers shows are good and DONT have optimus prime. masterforce and victory come to mind. the bESt US show was beast wars. nothing weill ever take down g1. without japan there is no transformers. sure they might have screwed their story up more than anyone would even like to care to exp-lore but whos to say we havent. nonetheless they deserve their recognition and in some areas they outshined us a lot in terms of the toys they got. case in point? Japan deserves some credit. America isnt the almighty bringer of great stories transformers wise. the last ones they headed(beast machines and armada) are highly regarded to have SUCKED MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE IN TRANSFORMERS HISTORY UNANINIMOUSLY AMONGST ALMOST ALL TRANSFORMER FANS) Armada to collectors was a failure. Energon is much better than armada. Japans superlinmk though very similar is shaping up quite well too. Star saber manages to kick ass and not be like rodimus at all. japans got some good stories so does the US> but both of them have their rather crappy takes on transformers over the years. niether is perfect. they got their ups and downs.

because robotech bombed in more ways than japanese transformers series ever will. love for transformers in japan is high love for robotech in japan is not. love for transformers in the US is high love for robotech is not. I can see your point about it being likle robotech in terms of different names being used and botched footage BUT. Prime was based on convoy just like rick was based on hikaru. that was my whole premise. so its only natural for convoy to remain convoy in the japanese series. and plus robotech sucks during sentinels. after the majortity of g1 the japanese series had some good characters where as sentinel did not. THATS why i say its not like robotech. I saw it as comparing a crappy franchise to a franchise thats selliing liek wild internationally.

The comics i don't look at too much since the stories are very complex. Takara did the initial toys and hasbro and marvel initiated the storyline. Again that is common sense nowhere in that sentence did it say japan at all. YOu cant however say transformers arent japanese. Without takara there WOULD BE NO transformers. HAsbro had the idea to bring diaclone and microman toys over under a new line and storyline premise. These toys were JAPANESE. NOT AMERICAN until they changed a few things and gave them new names. But nonetheless they had their roots in japan. Even after the series starte designs were still being pumped out in japan. PREDAKING was designed by a takara designer who later worked at bandai after a lawsuit over daltanias likenesses. Oh yea he was japanese. Yes this means takara had work on transformers. Oh yea that also means that since they worked on it transformers incidentally as a brand and toyline had japanese participation. wait that means ohj yea thats right its a japanese and american toy hybrid line. if a VF-0D is made and a bad ass SV-51, I might have to get some of this line porovided the hips arent as loose as the 1/60. 1/60 would have kicked all kinds of ass had its hips stayed in the nose ALL THE TIME NOT FAL OUT ALL THE TIME. With this 1/100 line and some monsters and possibly destropids, i think it will be real cool. I only wish teh VF-0 comes with a stand to display in fighter mode. You know like one of those macross kits with a clear plastic stand attached. kind of like on the K n M figures.
