  1. We've run both G and N. All the computers have a matching N Adapter, and the Toshiba Satellite A500 Notebook and my ASUS G73J-TZ008X has an N wireless adaptor too. All four PCs in the same room has problems every 5 minutes when playing Supreme Commander, Aliens VS Predator, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 and Call of Duty: World at War.
  2. We're talking at least 20m of cable here. Unless I can drill a hole into the roof and then go directly to my room, then down again, we'd have to go at least 8m to the ceiling then across to the other room, but the end room is only 3 m to ceiling height.
  3. Damn I want a pair of ATI 5850s in Crossfire now. True Multimonitor goodness!!! Oh well. I'll have to live with my 295s for a bit longer. I'm looking for alternative in my room for my router. At the moment I have two in my house, and I hate running them concurrently cause there are all sorts of conflicts that happen. The reason why I have two is that I need to run LANs in my house every Thursday night, and having it over wireless is pretty crappy, and I'd rather not move the phone connected into the router outside into my room cause we only have one phone, and it's all the way on the other side of the house (we only have VOIP, so we don't pay for line rental). I was thinking ethernet over power. What do you guys think?
  4. Good rig, and choice of motherboard too. Mine is almost the same as yours, except I got dual GTX295s and a ASUS Rampage II Extreme motherboard. The P6T is great cause there is less of a failure rate, my Rampage failed a week into use. Just to let you know, if you chose to have dual 5970s, you will not have room for a wireless card. I have to use a USB dongle when I am not LANing. With the multiple monitor support for 5970s right now, I would only get one, plenty of power. If you can, just chuck in one 128 GB SSD for the OS and it could possibly beat out my rig.
  5. Gaming wise you'd want the one with the GTX 260M. Its got great performance for games according to Notebookcheck. That, or just get the best, the ASUS G73J-A1 I soooooooo want this laptop. Glad I didn't put the down payment on it, as the dollar took a bit of a dive and also there are shipping delays for Down Under. I think that the G72 is down in price cause the G73 is the new kid on the block with a ATI Radeon 5870.
  6. Well, don't have any USB hubs yet, I have one Logitech one that is powered. I might use that. Finally my room is starting to take shape. I just got to get 1 beanbag and a Logitech G27 Steering wheel, give things a good clean and I'm ready to go. Just a few photos of what I'm planning to do:
  7. is it bad to plug in too many usb devices to my computer? I must admit i have a fair few, and i've had troubles with my usb adaptor in turning on and off and BSOD issues (power state failure), and random things turning on and off. I have a surge protector and and a 1000w power supply.
  8. Once at work, i had to clean the keyboard, and at the time, only had Windex. I used too much and it slipped between the two sheets with the electrodes or whatever, and this was causing it to type wild things. Once I let it all dry after taking it apart again, it worked.
  9. My desk is getting cluttered. Anyone know a good website for aftermarket chargers for the controllers for PS3? I'm looking at the Power Pyramid from Konnet now. I had the Venom Pyramid charger, but it only did two controllers. I have four.
  10. Got the same laptop as you Roy. The touch is great, but I keepon hitting it accidently myself. The screen is beautiful though, and it is powerful. The biggest thing I've used with Win7 is the search function in the start menu. So much faster to look for stuff. I love it how you can turn on and off the touchpad with a dedicated button.
  11. Bah, I am sick of the no dedicated servers for MW2. Just wondering if anyone has used the Splitfish Fra Wireless Pro Controller? I'm still not used to the controller, the PS3 is my first console ever.
  12. Looking at a netbook as an early Christmas present for a friend who is struggling. I want to help him out, but I don't want to go get one if the performance is really sluggish. Primary things that he will do or use is: Surf internet Outlook Word Excel Powerpoint Mass Storage Device is there a netbook in your experience that you can recommend?
  13. As do I, but there is no doubt that it is popular.
  14. Played it already, you're going to hate Urban fighting by the time you finish it.
  15. Thanks! $6 ones it is! Just got my copy of Modern Warfare II! Awesome!
  16. Hey guys, Just became the happy owner of a Sony Bravia KDL40-Z5500, and wall mounted it, and connected it to my computer! I want to get an HDMI cable though, but I need advice on this. Do I have to buy an expensive cable or will a cheap one give identical quality? I heard that it only matters for longer distances, and I got a gold plated tip one waiting to be used. Which one would be better?
  17. I've had an old DOS game Incursion work on Windows 7. I'll see if it still does after I've upgraded.
  18. One of the oldest games I've ever tried is Crazy Taxi, but remember that Professional Edition of the Win7 OS contains a beta of the XP Emulation mode. Perhaps your games can run under this. I'm installing Win7 now. Can't wait till it finishes, and then wait for the Win7 upgrade for my new notebook in the mail!
  19. I've been buying and installing and playing a lot of games lately, and only had a problem with one. What games are you most concerned with?
  20. Using an ASUS Rampage II Extreme motherboard. I think it supports the 1366 chipsets. I had it in QUAD SLi, but the third slot in basically useless, no way you can fit anything in there.
  21. Yeah, actually, my game froze and it affected everyone else LANing, cause I was the host. I actually got a superficial burn, the skin is actually glistening. So surprised. Cause I thought that for non-graphic intensive games, the more powerful your graphics card is, the more you can push it, but if you choose to game at sub par, your graphics card doesn't have to work that hard. I didn't max it out, yet it was burning.
  22. Um, is it normal for my graphics card to be so hot that it burns my fingers when I touch it? The only game I've been playing lately with it is World at War and the Zombie missions. Last time it was COOKING. I run 2 GTX 295s in SLi Mode. Should I run a probe to see what temps its working at? Cause I have not overclocked ANYTHING, CPU, GPU, RAM, whatever. All is stock. And all the fans are working.
  23. Usually the P6T Deluxe from what i understand. My Rampage II Extreme has failed on me once, and the rate is about 60%. If I knew this initially I would not have bought it. Let's hope I have no more problems.
  24. Agreed, but that goes for any computer really. Horses for courses mate.
