  1. Agreed, I don't like how they're doing it either, but there really isn't anything we can do about it, sadly. -Kyp
  2. I always wondered where that term came from, I never realized it was the forum censor, lol. -Kyp
  3. Just read up on it, and you're absolutely right, Bandai made the kit using the new 2199 design. Makes me glad I got this. -Kyp
  4. I love them both dearly, for different reasons. The VF-1 is iconic, it's the very first VF that anyone ever saw (Or would see until Flashback: 2012 in 1987), and will always have a special place in my memories. The VF-0, while supposedly being a technology test bed for the upcoming VF-1 series, is a refined version of the VF-1 design. If there was ever a remake of the original series, I wouldn't be opposed to the VF-0 design being slightly redesigned and retconned as the VF-1. -Kyp
  5. The Yamato looks just like the new Bandai 1/500 kit. -Kyp
  6. This. Why the frak would anyone want to wait to bring up concerns over the design until it's too late to do anything about them? -Kyp
  7. It's been put off for far, far too long, in my opinion. -Kyp
  8. If anyone looks at that picture and sees boners, I'd say you have issues, just saying. Totally agree about fighter mode, especially considering that was all we ever saw for the longest time. -Kyp
  9. If they still insist on using those feet, then this could be one solution: Although in this image from FB 2012, they do stick out just a tad, and the CAD's tail fins appear to be correct meaning this is most likely going to be Hikaru's valk, IMO. -Kyp
  10. Feet thrusters shouldn't be sticking out that far in fighter mode, from the pictures I've seen. Also, they look like VF-1 feet thrusters, and I don't think that's right, either. -Kyp
  11. This, plus a Low Vis VF-1, please. -Kyp
  12. I've got the same issue with my right wing glove, it looks like someone panel lined it because the paint didn't get into the details enough. And I totally agree with you, why the Hell didn't they simply mold that part light Gray rather than paint it, it's pretty stupid to me too and makes no sense. I managed to match the paint enough to cover the scratch from the factory well enough to my satisfaction. I'm pretty happy with it overall, I just wish the bottom right wing glove didn't look like it was lightly panel lined. -Kyp
  13. Got mine yesterday, mine has fewer QC issues than my Alto, I've got a small scratch on the Skull though, I'm thinking about either trying to match the paint, or use a small piece of the waterslide Skull decal from my 1/72 to cover it up, I haven't decided yet, either way, it's an easy fix. Unless my second Ozma turns out to be even better than this one, which I doubt, it will be the one to end up wearing the Super parts. Speaking of the 1/72, I'll be taking comparison pics, but I think it's safe to say that I'm far happier with the 1/60 V2. @Rabidweezil : LOL...there's no magical place to get one, I'm just going to be prepaired to pay $200+ for the second one. *Edit* It appears the the Skull logo for the 1/72 is a much darker gray, where the 1/60 appears to be an off White or Insignia White, I'll have to try matching the paint, then. -Kyp
  14. I sincerly hope that mine doesn't have those above issues, otherwise, I'm going to be really pissed off. But then again, if it does, then I know which one will be wearing the Super Pack for it that I bought. I plan on getting another Ozma next month so I can have one with the Super Parts and the other without. -Kyp
  15. What are you panel lining it with? -Kyp
  16. Paid for it Friday, and it's getting here on Wednesday, definitely no complaints from me, lol. Usually, it gets here by Thursday-Friday the following week if I pay for it on Friday. This will most likely knock my Alto from the #1 spot of my most favorite Valk list. @eugimon: I very seriously doubt we'll ever see a V3 of the 1/60 VF-1 series, lol. But as for the 1/48's, I used to be opposed to a V2 1/48 VF-1, but after seeing what Yamato did for the 1/60's, I'd LOVE to see what they could do if they went back to the 1/48 with what they know now. It would be amazing, I think. But to be honest, if they'd just eliminate the low hanging shoulders in fighter mode, that would be enough for me. It was the one and only thing I hated about the 1/48 VF-1's. -Kyp
  17. Looks like mine will be here tomorrow, w00t!! -Kyp
  18. Especially to having holes in the feet thrusters. -Kyp
  19. Yep, I ordered through them and paid for it late Friday evening, it's already at the customs office in New York. -Kyp
  20. Mine already in customs in New York, should have it by this Friday at the latest. -Kyp
  21. That's about what paying for the Ozma felt like for me, I REALLY, REALLY wish they'd have stuck to the late January release. I thought I had another two weeks, next time I'll take the possibility for an early release into account. -Kyp
  22. I see a potential problem area for those of you who will be transforming this to Battroid: ^Look at the right horn on the skull marking. Apparently, you can rub off the paint when pulling the wing gloves all the way to the back. Mine also shipped from AmiAmi, w00t! -Kyp
  23. Damnit, this is going to make money really tight for me, I wasn't expecting this to come out for another couple of weeks. I'll be able to get it, but I really, really wished they'd waited a couple of weeks. -Kyp
  24. ^I agree 100%, the missiles really need to be separately made, to prevent the above mentioned issues that having painted, molded missile bulges would no doubt create. Even with Yamato's level of paint app ability, it wouldn't be enough to make it look good enough, IMO. -Kyp
  25. At first, I was "meh" at the possibility of this thing getting made, but over the last couple of weeks, I've grown to really like the design for it's uniqueness, the fact that it's not anything like the other Valkyries made since. That having been said, my opinion about adding hard points, gunpod attachments, and such is thus: I sincerely hope that they don't put any hard points on the wings. Based on all the drawings I've seen so far, I've come to the conclusion that they were never meant to be there, because that was the whole point of having 12 semi-conformal missiles in the first place. It was also never shown having a GU-11 gun pod attached in fighter mode, either. THIS ISN'T A FRAKING VF-0/1/(INSERT ALL OTHER MODELS HERE) VALKYRIE, it's a Godamned VF-4G Lightning III, and the whole point to me was it's uniqueness in NOT having a GU-11 attached in Fightermode, nor any hard points on the wings, because they weren't needed. They finally decide to make this Valk, and several of you are wanting Yamato to turn it into every other Valk out there, WTF? And before any of you say "Kyp, you don't have to attach the missiles or gunpod if you don't want to...", I'm quite well aware of that, but I don't want those ugly 1/60 VF-1 hard point nubs on the wings, they're the reason I tend to keep the missiles on my 1/60 V2 Roy in the first place. As to the 12 semi conformal missiles being detachable, that's neat and all, but if it's going to leave peg holes, which I see no other way to make this possible, then I won't be detaching them anyways, so it's a moot feature to me. Gimmicks are all great and fine, but please, for frak's sake, can we not mess with things that to me make this Valk unique? Am I the only one here that feels this way? -Kyp
