  1. GEEZ!! Seeing those pics again and the lineart comparison makes me want to preorder again so I can furiously cancel it one more time!!
  2. It's just one, the other two are just photoshoped.
  3. As well as the grey goggle!! We just have to accept it!
  4. If Arcadia or Bandai won't make changes/improvement when pre-production shots like this are showed. I doubt this 2SS will get any better. I'll take my chances and wait for it to go on clearance if I have the extra dough. Oh yeah. HLJ allows for orders to get canceled with not backlash.
  5. The idea with models and applying a top coat is for both protection and allow an even finish all around the surface making the decal look like it's parts of the fuselage. Hand brushing will add a thick coat, using a spray gun is much easier to control the spray and apply a very thin coat. You could try applying a very very very thing coat for topping around the edges, won't give the ideal protection but will make everything even. If you want to go hardcore, use a caliper to measure and sand off the clearance for the added coat your using to allow transformation with minimal chipping. One must allow proper curing of the coat, not hours, but days or weeks depending on weather so it won't chip with proper handling during transformation.
  6. guys guys! we know they read this forums and probably estimate market value with us. Let's all just say, we will pay no more than 22500 Yen for this non-hero plain scheme valk that's not exactly the same one that had less than 10sec screen time in FB2012, but it's on a crappy video game. I only pay top dollars for hero valks. Hikaru, Max or Millia. Who's with me?? PEER PRESSSUREEE!!!
  7. Yes!! this, I've been thinking about it too. Arcadia must have encountered some licensing issues when obtaining the Yamato old license. This is only speculation, they probably have some license and production debt from Yamato, and have to make this small but obvious color changes to avoid some sort of "Yamato copyright" and avoid paying. Like how the Chinese knock off replica market gets away with it by changing the colors or spelling of name brands. Could explain the blue highlights on the 0A, different white colors on the DYRL VF-1's, missile tips on the 0S, gold trim on 19Kai, etc. The 0D was a new mold under Arcadia, so the blue would just be a f*ck up. Curious what will change in the VF-4G. On topic! 0S is sexy!!!
  8. Yes, he posted his link here. He's made other macross related articles on Forbes. Oh man!!, imagine if Disney would acquire the Macross license giving us a Macross city at Disneyworld with Valkyrie roller coaster!! /End dream
  9. If you're doing it on a model, you must apply a coat of gloss so the decal can slide smoothly, this also prevents air pockets under the decal if the surface is not uniform, after they're set another layer of coating to protect and have an even finish is needed. If you plan to do it on a yammie/arcadia/bandai, they're safe on the paint without any gloss coating but you might encounter everything I already mentioned. Without a protecting coat the decal might ripped in any part that moves. You must be aware any extra coat over a yammie/arcadia/bandai will chip when you transform.
  10. haha!! The Yammie boxart was terrible. I hope the pilot figure is much better than the original figure we got with the Yammie.
  11. LOL!! The Macross holy grail is the 1/2000 SDF-1 kit
  12. Not that I'm not happy about this reissue, I have two VF-4G's and I may get a third one if the price is reasonable, but I was hoping Arcadia would reissue the VF-1J Max & Millia first. They have the SDFM license, wonder what are they waiting for.
  13. Great pics!!, shame Yamato could not find a way to add the cockpit shield.
  14. It's a VF-4G with arcadias signature blue nosecose and side thrusters and less, muh less tampo for a higher price!! Blue is the new black guys!! LOL If it's a VF-4G I hope its priced similar or slightly higher cause it's not a new mold or retooling.
  15. Sorry, I expressed myself wrong, I meant that Arcadia notice about their errors in a certain way contradicts ("shutting down"), MrK comments about why their products are so expensive.
  16. Aaaaaaand...it's sold out acording to Arcadia
  17. Well...Arcadia just shut down MrK blog about those hard working chinese factories completely.
  18. AFAIK the updated VF-1 CG design on the Pachinko videos are based on the Yammie V2 already.
  19. Can't they just release M&M VF-1J already????... It's like they're allergic to money!!
  20. I have lately been dredding a strong feeling that Arcadia ran into licensing issues and are running a loophole. So...MrK, low production, left over material, high cost in taking the pieces of the sprue cleanly, etc.??I have the answer for you.... ASSEMBLY KITS!!!
  21. Nope, Mr.K said that at the moment they are focused on the zero line and he wishes enemy mechas would be made but that desition is not up to him. I wouldn't call Arcadia a small company, but they are not in obvious scale to Bandai. Remember Arcadia makes those creepy fetish dolls and other anime mecha line. Besides, he says costs are high but they make limited human sized gunpods and Firebomber guitar and bass replicas. I bet that isn't cheap at all. Unless they are adding thise item production costs to the valks too. I wonder how the recent economic problems with China stock market may affect them now.
  22. I understand everything he says in there as valid points. Except he did not addressed QC issues. In the old Yamato days, the last VF-19's and the VF-4 were pretty much QC perfect aside from some lemons. But Arcadia's are riddled with QC issues again. If production costs of this collectibles niche items are increasing, and they know the price is much much higher than before, isn't it common sense to make sure this "knowingly expensive" items are not plagued with issues? Or are they cutting costs on QC too???
