  1. Slamdunk, The contests are going to continue whether you join or not. We originally expected only 30-40 contestants in total, but the final turn out was over 90 entries. That more than doubled our expectation. So we know many people are interested. We have a schedule and a contest budget set for 2004. So that means the prizes are going to be handed out no matter what. Whether 3 people join or 30 people join, somebody is still going to walk away with that money. It's not my money, I have no emotional attachments to it, I am not worried that people won't show up to claim them. So if you have a problem with it and do not want to join, then it really is YOUR loss. That's how it works. Also, cursing and complaining here isn't really going to effect hobbyfan or future contests. We're going to be perfectly fine. Unfortunately, what you did will effect the way some people view Macrossworld's message board and it's community members. I always consider it a privilege to be a member here, and that's why I behave myself. This board is after all owned by Shawn and Graham and all of us are here because of their generosity. Don't forget that.
  2. I received this message from Re-issue Liu today: Hum, he spelled my name wrong again......
  3. BTW, Slamdunk, I noticed that you are the latest member to join this board and you have only 1 Post (and that's the post above) Does this mean you registered just to complain about something that you weren't really even a part of in the first place? Or are you actually a contestant who didn't win and feel the need to vent your frustrations?
  4. This is how the winners were chosen. It was a very fair method: http://community.hobbyfan.com/modules.php?...viewtopic&t=906 And as for the Most popular Votes, it was decided by public voting. No one makes a judgment on it. And remember, it clearly states "MOST POLULAR", that means people vote on what they LIKE not necessaily "the Best Kit". If you didn't bother to vote, then you really have no position to complain at this point, because it was YOUR decision which could've made a difference in that categoy.
  5. Here is the general schedule for upcoming events at Hobbyfanatic Message Board: http://community.hobbyfan.com/modules.php?...viewtopic&t=905 Due to the large number of Macross related entries we received for the Christmas modeling Contest, there is now a separate category for Macross modeling in the up coming Mecha/Sci-fi contest this summer. I would like to openly invite both Shawn and Graham to participate as judges for that category. It should be a lot of fun and I hope both of you will accept. Once again there will be some wonderful prizes for all the winners, so start getting ready everyone!
  6. All the winners are announced for the Christmas Modeling Contest. Please go here to see them: http://community.hobbyfan.com/modules.php?...=viewforum&f=33 Congratulations!
  7. Thanks for the comments everyone. Still have to do some more refining and to add in some more details. Probably about another month to go. As for casting the figure into a resin kit, I will need at least 10 people to buy it or else it wouldn't be economical to do so. I'll see how it goes after it is completed.

Just something I did for fun.
  9. Not sure about the error. I contacted the person in charge, and he told me that could not find any problems so far. I'm guessingit could be browser related? I personally have problem viewing or posting to the board whenever I go through AOL. browser. You can try going to the main forum here. You'll find the polls in the Current Contest section. http://www.hobbyfanatics.com/modules.php?name=Forums

  13. Hi everyone, Now's your chance to flex those artist muscles and win some prizes Please go here for rules and prize info: http://community.hobbyfan.com/modules.php?...viewtopic&t=775 Thanks!
  14. How about all the excess sculpy I carved off of the figure.... Didn't you know she loses her hands in Episode 3? Actually, I always mold the hand last because (1) it's hard (2) it's the most important part because they give the figure it's final gesture. The figure can have a completely different look/feel if the hands are positioned differently. Sculpy, Expoy Putty and Tin Foil. Here is the current progress and parts breakdown:
  15. Nobody at Hobbyfan's board seems to be able to guess which character this is that I am currently scratch building. Wanna take a crack at it?
  16. I sold my Club-M 1/72 VF-11 kit becasue I fully expect one from Hasegawa in the very near future.
  17. Hi, Just want to remind everyone the deadline for entering Hobbyfan's Christmas Modeling Contest is Nov. 20. 3003. That means you have less than 20 days left if you would like to join. We have some terrific prizes for the winners so don't miss out! Please go here for contest rules and registration info: http://community.hobbyfan.com/modules.php?...viewtopic&t=494 To see current entries go here: http://community.hobbyfan.com/modules.php?...=view_album.php As you can see, we already have a few Macrossworld members who entered their work!
  18. http://community.hobbyfan.com/modules.php?...pic&p=4351#4351 Can someone help answer his question to Macross Zero?
  19. It's actually a lot easier than you think. You CAN upload the pictures directly from your computer. Just follow the instruction given to you after your contest registration and you will have no problem doing so.
  20. Well... there is no way to get people to send in their actual model kits for judging. Uploading pics is the best we could do for an online contest. Besides, the main goal for the contest is to help promote model building as a hobby and have a little fun (which is why the rules are kept simple). The prizes and winning in my opinion is only secondary. In a way this is only a "warm-up contest". Hobbyfan told me that if the Christmas contest is successful, they will be sponsoring more contest and events in the future.
