You shouldn't let other people's opinions (OPP - LOL) stop you from watching 7 or Delta. Even if both have problems they are still Macross series and still worth a watch. There will be stuff in there that you like guaranteed. Personally, i love 7. The only thing that really bugs me about it now is that 90s flat colored animation style. It hasn't aged well. The early episodes of Macross 2 looks better IMO.

Hah yeah I thought 7 must be terrible since most people here seem to have such hate for it, boy was I surprised how much I loved it when I finally gave it a chance.

So, I've never seen 7 or Delta (partly due to opinions I've read here on MW) but I will say that I think Zero is the weakest of the ones I have seen, save maybe Macross II. The main things that make Zero interesting for me are the connections back to SDFM (and now forward to Frontier) meaning it doesn't hold as much value on its own. And the psychic/supernatural elements in Zero got a little far out there for me. If a new series comes anywhere close to Frontier (which honestly owes a lot to SDFM) then I'll be very interested.

I'd say to give at least the first half of Delta a chance, after that you can drop the rest of the show and wait for the movie.

    Question:

How much would you say is a comfortable range for domestic shipping? I had someone win two MG kit auctions, and combined shipping from the Midwest to CA for the both of them would have been

    - $40 Priority Mail (with padding)
    - $20 Priority Mail (w/o padding)
    - $18 Parcel Select Mail
    - $16 Priority Mail (w/o boxes)

The buyer claims that the shipping cost is too high, which I can understand (especially that first option, yeesh), though the more reasonable prices only add $3-7 to the ~$13 it would cost to ship either of the two individually. I totally get where the person is coming from... but they were well aware of the shipping cost of at least each individual kit before bidding.

But I'll just offer it to the next highest bidder, see if they want it. If any of you know of any lower-priced shipping options, let me know, too. These shipping prices ARE pretty steep.

Ehh that seems about right for big box shipping to California, at least when I put in shipping from my zip to 90210 for a 12x12x12 box thats what I got. I think you can buy the USPS postage through Ebay and get a discount so that might help you out.

I'm kind of amused that, for a comic book that pretty much everyone in this thread seems to hate, that it has generated 12 pages of posts.

These terrible comic pages give me life, I hope they never stop! Oh is Miss Macross already trademarked or did the writers really think Macross has Talent is a better title?

It may not be the Falcon. Another SSM member floated the idea that this is just a different freighter, but that it was the one that caught Lando and Han 's eye.

It's likely the Falcon, can't have a Solo origin story without it. If the story ends with Lando and Han going to the local used ship lot at the end of the movie lookin for a cheap junker I'm all for it.

This is part of the weirdness they've introduced by nixing the known EU canon really.. I want to say it's entirely possible, since the ships were supposed to be from a common production line that had a lot of customizable options, and were very popular with light traders and smugglers.. but I have no idea what the history of the design is supposed to be anymore.

The part that throws me is that for years, the front mandibles of the ship were always labeled with some cargo loading/unloading/grasping function.  Removing those changes the the ship both aesthetically and from a practical perspective.. since.. I mean, if you're not using the centerline for a cargo-related function.. why is the cockpit offset?

I always thought the mandibles were for cargo too, can't remember where I heard that from so many years ago though.

  5. The over engineered parts to me would be the legs, they could have gone with the same leg extension that MP Wheeljack had. Instead they went for the panels folding on panels approach and while it works, it just seems a bit busy. They probably felt that using the same transformation again would be boring and wanted to keep things interesting. I still like Sunstreaker and the transformation is fun, it's just something I would have done different which is something I usually don't have to say with an MP release. Backpack wise I'm fine with it, it's smaller than MP Hot Rod's and I was cool with that too.

Sometime right about now, we're still actively pretending Gundam Build isn't just a commercial for ugly MSV gunpla kits thinly disguised as a boy-friendly version of Angelic Layer.

And to think Yoshiyuki Tomino fought bitterly to prevent Mobile Suit Gundam from becoming one of those toy commercial robot anime... kind of puts me in the mind of this quote from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum:

Hysterium: "My father would turn over in his grave if he saw me like this."
    Pseudolus: "Your father is alive."
Hysterium: "Well... this will kill him."

Ehh at this point I doubt there are people out there that think Build Fighters is anything but a way to market kits with slight tweaks so they can sell them 5 different ways (including P-Bandai variants of course). I wouldn't doubt Tomino wanting to die so he can finally roll over in his grave :D

Should we be excited? I was under the impression that the first two were pretty bad free-to-play games.

Ehh the first game was fun but the free to play model sucked. It was one of those pay for fuel to use your MS each day kinda deals. The trailer voice over is hilariously bad, I hope we get a US release but I won't hold my breath.
