  1. The 1/60's are not cheap nor fragile. I've had several for over two years with no breakage and minor wear. They have had attention constantly, I might add. GO ahead a purchase one. If your a Macross fan you want regret it.

One thing about the 1A Max is that it has a floppy backback. It's not very stiiff.

The same could be said for all of the earlier 1/60's. Atleast, In my experience. The hinge is an area to be careful with but should not be a deterent from one to buy the toy.

  2. After Max & Millia, Yamato a pretty much run out of choices for valks. There probably will be a CF but I'm not holding my breath for two seaters any time soon. The 1A molds are already there. I'm sure well see another variation sooner or later.

I think there is still a chance that the two seaters will be made though. Simply because the choices are running out and Yamato probably wants to make as much money as they can from their Macross license. Even, if they don't continue producing valks, I want mind if they give us some enemy mecha.

  3. If orders don't pick up in a week or two I'll place an order for Blaine's design. I'm not to worried yet. In two or three weeks I'd start to worry if orders didn't pick up.

MM do we need atleast 20 orders 40 total of each set to get them through? Since it's pretty much divided, Would it come to scraping one of the designs in order to fulfill the twenty case quota?

  4. Since I don't plan on picking up the SDF:M DVD's I don't really need one of the Keepcases.

They sure look DAMN SWEET though, and I don't think my Robotech DVD's (Macross Saga) really belong in them.

Why not? I'm filling my case with nothing but Porn! :p

The perfect place to hide it were my girl want look. She never touches my Macross stuff!

  5. Wow. Macross toys aren't popular in Japan? That's funny.

It's pretty sad but also very true. It reminds me of that TRU Japan thread that someone posted a couple of weeks ago. In almost every picture you could see isles among isles of Gundam products. When it came time to show the Macross stuff it was kinda pathetic. ONE measley area of shelf space for a couple of 1:48 Yammies (I believe it was a Maximillian Jenius).

    :(

And then that was at the very bottom :(

  6. CF-1A... CF-1J.

CF-1A and CF-1J? What does the C stand for? Or is that a typo?

It means cannon fodder. It's a generic term applied to all the brown valks seen in Macross. So when I say CF-1A, It actually is a VF-1A the has the Cannon Fodder color scheme. Same can be said for a 1S and 1J.

  7. Hikaru is shown in a 1A while he is training in SDF Macross. Plus Roy is His sempai, He got the hookup.

Hikaru never once in the tv series flew a VF-1A. According to flight tests, simulations etc, the more skilled the pilot is, the more "privlages" one shall have. Since Hikaru has won many flight competitions not to mention maybe just MAYBE Roy putting in a good word for him got him to be a top knotch pilot.

There is a scene where he has an unpainted VF-1J during his training shooting at stuff, never do you see him piloting a VF-1A unless it's animation error when an episode's animation turned, "Crappy" cause if so, than you can say even Roy piloted a VF-1A in the series...

The J variant was also discussed as being a Jr Officers fighter, those with high skills and great potential. Now before you say, "But what about max?" I believe max even states he was very inexperinced and later when he got use to the flow of battle he became some what of a genius. You never hear how he actually did during all those tests he took, nor if he had any prior experince before signing up with the UN Spacy forces...unlike Hikaru.

I suggest you go whatch episode 6 Daedulus Attack again. There's no animation mistake there. Hikaru is clearly shown piloting a CF-1A landing on the Promethueus. This is right before the animation of Hikaru landing from gerwalk changing into battroid while piloting a CF-1J.

Maybe those scenes signifies that Hikaru was progressing in his training so he was promoted to fly the 1J.

  8. It wont be successful <_<

Why? because your average American kid has never seen Robocrap.

Funny thing, I was in Best Buy the other day checking out the anime section. There were two kids about 7-10 years old begging there parents to buy them robotech DVD's. I just had to laugh.

  9. Wow an upgrade to the Rau and I haven't had it even a week. Heck, I'm still waiting for my 1/60 fast packs. Were there any pics in the article or just a sentence that stated this?

  10. Here's an Elint I used a number 2 pencil on.

I've used the Micron pen too. My only complaint was it was to dark for my tastes.

Blah. Can't really see anything in that pic.

    http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...topic=135&st=60

just click on the Sithlord 's signature  "check out the shelves"

I think he really lead a most powerful air force....

maybe a most powerful universal force :)

GOOD LAWD...! And I thought I was bad.

I put that link into my favorites. So next time I feel guilty for spending 300-400$ on Macross Toys I'll pay Sithlord's site a little visit.

  12. There was a thread a couple of months ago. Where the person used several layers of clear coat in critical areas. It was a low-viz custom 1/60.

I don't recommend clear coat outta the can I keep getting poor results. My last project yellowed pretty bad.
