1. I think one of the major problems we are having with it is the root word for spiritia is spirit, maybe we should look at more from a bio-electric stand point. Humans can almost be considered as batteries, you drain off too much energy and they start to fail [coma etc], sounds that are enjoyed or sounds that stimulate anger may recharge that source by stimulate the persons brain functions in a certain manner?
2. Thanks, Kelsain. Those are the largest ones in the book, although I think I still have the scanned images which were done at 600 dpi res, I can check and see if you want? Nope, no pics of Battle 5 in attacker mode, although if I could ever find a decent artist I would see if they could do one.
3. Please let's not degenerate into calling things gay and what not, this thread has stayed pretty calm so far.
4. It's been stated before that SK does something different with each sequel, I doubt if we will see anything of M7's like again, and if SK doesn't do anymore Macross and someone else picks it up that stuff will most likely be more along the lines of SDFM and Plus.
5. I have a whole monkey butt of pictures here, just click on them, not huge sized pictures but decently sized. http://www.un-spacy-qmtdb.com/macross_page...rrier_01_04.htm *Disclaimer: Some information on this page is non-canon*
6. I thought most of the later Valk's head lasers were supposed to be used for anti-missile/chase armament anyway, or at least that's the impression I always got from the designs.
7. I know how to kill the topic. Usually I don't get involved in these discussions but since this one is pretty tame. So here are my takes on it. Macross II - Characters - Could have been better, most of them seemed to flip-flop between competent and stupid, except for Exagram [sp?] who just acted mysterious. Mecha - Would have loved to seen more of the New Destroids, the VF's in my opinion weren't so much lame as rather on the generic side, as were the Zentraedi Battlepods who seemed to take a step back in usefulness, the power suits were also rather generic. Music - It was okay, but not my favorite. Storyline - Good war story but a tad on the shollow side for development. Macross 7 - Characters - Max was cool as ever, Millia was a little too neurotic and I'd love to find out how she ended up this way. Basara I wanted to punch the first few episodes but he does mature somewhat towards the end, although running up to people and yelling listen to me sing or whatever it was did grate on the nerves, Gamlin should have given up on Mylene and gone after one of the bridge bunnies and his character should have been better developed, as for the other characters there seemed to be a nice blend of nutty and serious. As for the protodeviln, well maybe a little less colorful and maybe a little scarier would have helped. Mecha - Eye candy out the butt, love the VF's could do without the boobs on Mylene's VF however. Loved seeing the older Destroids and Valks at the one fair or whatever it was. Battle scenes could have been better, and a little more Max action as well. Probably could have done without the transforming Battle 7 but hey the last long running series had one so why not. Music - Loved most of it, but the repetitive gets annoying at some points, I still laugh at my subbed copy when they are talking about planet dance and the subtitles have it as Parry Stands, took me awhile to figure that one out. Storyline - Pretty good, gave us some background on the ProtoCulture, a little bit more of character development wouldn't have hurt either, although I would have to agree that it could have been a tad shorter maybe 39 Eps.
8. The minor updates are up.
9. Being unable to repair their own technology was more of a Robotech thing, otherwise Kamjin would never have gotten that gunship off of the ground, they probably didn't know all the intricacy of repair and retrofit but could still do some stuff but for the major stuff relied heavily on the factory satellites.
10. Sorry about no updates lately, I'm painting someone else's Warhammer army at the moment but I am just about done with the small updates to the Space vessel files, hopefully have them done by the end of the week. Just to remind everyone the details behind this update, this is mainly to fix some cosmetic problems, replace some pictures, and get rid of some files I wasn't happy with, informational updates will take place later on. Also I would like to reiterate that a lot of the information on the site is non-canon. Please keep this in mind when using any data from the site.
11. Looks like animebooks.com still has it as well for $40.00 at the moment.
12. Block 1B is the only one I had information for, although one thing we keep forgetting is that it's at least two years ahead of where we are now plus the fact that OT is starting to be used so they could be a later model that doesn't exist in the real world. "Shrugs" So I went with the one 1B. I didn't even realize those tubes behind the Island were for Cheyennes though I haven't seen the rest of the show, good info. And good luck on your project.
13. I don't think I've ever seen an actual line drawing of the gunpod with it's bayonet out, but I may have a pic of the pod itself. Here are the pics I have. One BW Line Art the other a screen shot.
14. While the small guncannon/ship does have wings they aren't pointed like that and is shaped differently.
15. Wasn't New Edwards a UNAF base rather than a UNS base, it's been awhile since I've watched Plus. I'm not sure though.
16. Looks a little short and stubby to be the Arcadia plus the rear isn't the same shape.
17. Few more file updates as well as some new non-macross content.
18. I've read it, they are some of my favorites. I even tossed laser heads into one of my d20 games.
19. Actually I haven't updated those dates in about six years, I just recently got the DVD version of the movie, and need to fix that, since it says 80 years after the last war, I need to adjust it to about 2090 or 2091, although the way I was running it in my campaign other Marduk forces faced outlying colonies. I like MII but one of the biggest flaws is fleet size in the show, there should be tons of Terran built vessels eighty years after the last war, but there only seems to be about five or six capitol ships and maybe a couple dozen smaller vessels.
20. Those aren't canon names, I used them for an RPG I ran for a short time; and most of the stats are guess information based on trying to measure and determine distances from other ships in the show.
21. Slight tiny update to UN Spacy Aircraft and Mecha, visual update to these files plus the dropping of others, updated the by type pages as well with the new links.
22. They refer to him as Captain so I guess Goval got demoted. Unless you are talking about somebody else. He also has a beard instead of a mustache and no accent, although that could simply be because he was an unnamed character. Also, he would be much older looking. 427859 I think you guys might be referring to two different people, the guy with the mustache is I think part of the security force and the gentlemen with the beard is named somewhere on the Macross Compendium. Higgins, the guy on the right side is the new captain of the SDF-01.
23. You know what I really don't appreciate having myself likened to some 16 year old twit that can't spell or use proper grammar. The fact of the matter is the majority of games that I've ever seen Nintendo put out are targeted towards younger audiences. As for the VHS and Beta thing, I'm not even going there because obviously you can't have a conversation without insulting someone.
24. I'm having serious doubts the PS3 is gonna survive. Sony's following the traditional pattern of the video game industry, where the dominant hardware company grows overconfident, believes they are invincible, and then shoots themself in the head. 415183 All the companies are having the same problem 360's smoking problem, the Wii's retarded name and several other considerations that just aren't making me personally happy with all three companies. 415188 Only Sony is making the same mistakes that led to the fall of the House of Atari, the Kingdom of Sega, and the Nintendo Empire. MS is still playing the traditional "Man, I wish I was number 1" role, and Nintendo is doing their own thing, which has become what they're best known for post-SNES. Of course, Nintendo's the only one to fall and remain relevant, so clearly they're doing something right. 415189 I think that's mainly from the fact that nintendo's market is little kid type of games alot of the time. As for Sony they'll always pull crap and bounce back from it, let's not forget Beta.
