  1. So assuming this is the Yamato finale and Arcadia decides not to product any Macross products, I wonder if another toy company will purchase the license and continue the 1/60 and 1/48 line?

Most likely Bandai is the only candidate at this point. Which means Macross collecting will suck because Bandai doesn't give a crap about Macross

  2. Well, I can't say the same. Turns out you did get the last one, because they just cancelled my purchase. I can't fault them though. They simply hadn't updated their eBay auction before I made the purchase. In all honesty, HKCollectibles has always offered stupendous customer service in my experience.

Aw, that sucks, OM. I thought they had a few available on their ebay auction. So I guess their webstore stock is accurate then. HKC's customer service sure is great. Last time I needed to return something due to their mistake, they paid for the EMS return shipment and gave me a $20 voucher.

  3. Yeah...I was eyeing that TV VF-1S! Almost bought it this morning too! Had to resort to ordering it thru HKC's eBay auction. I hope they have one in stock for me. The page said there were 2 available at that price ($144.99 shipped), so we'll see...

Hopefully that is the case. I was contemplating overnight whether I should pick it up since I already have the VF-1S Hikaru Super TV version. Luckily I concluded that I need a spare due to future yellowing and the TV roy pilot figure. No cancellation email yet.

  4. I would think Yamato's 1/60 v2 VF-1 line is the most complete line by far. They've given us almost every squadron from the show (yes, even the cavaliers!).

The rarest would still be the 1/48 Low Vis VF-1A. Next would be any 1/60 v2 valkyries that did not get a re-issue: VF-1J M&Ms, VT-1 Ostrich, VF-1S low vis, VF-1D Virgin Road, etc. Of course, the Roy and Hikaru Skull VF-1Ss will always be popular as well.

If Bandai takes over the Macross VF-1 license, there is no way they will ever treat us as well as Yamato has.

  5. Is this list still being updated? Just in case, I wanted to add/mention some great transactions I've had recently.

Bar81 - payment, communication all went smoothly on a pricey item

DarrinG - great seller and awesome 1/60 gunstraps!

Valk009 - great seller on multiple transactions (past and present)

Thanks guys and keep straight shootin!

  6. Valkyrie23, the one you got have the shoulder issue?

Hey Dapro - Nope, the shoulders are fine and according to Anymoon's review, mine was a v.2.2 according to these attributes: clear canopy and 1/48 style crotch locking mechanism. You can find more detail at his review direcly:

    http://anymoon.com/blog/?p=4599

There is also a great list of which releases were which version. Based on his list, I'm pretty sure the one I rec'd from HKC is the 5/2010 release marked as "Version 2.2 Safe". Its the release right before the anniversary editions so no option parts are included.

  7. I have the VF-1J unassembled kit purchased from HK Collectables, and mine came with grey option parts. I have them installed on my TV VF-1A MP.

Whoops, my bad - you are correct. I got mixed up between all of my sets. I got the re-issue super/strike sets from amiami and they came with white parts. The dark colored parts look pretty cool.

  8. I just picked up a VF-1J from HK Collectibles. They are not the 30th anniversary, but they are the re-release just prior to the 30th anniversary editions. That means they include the clear canopy and 1/48 style fixed crotch pieces. You can always grab side covers off someone in the forums. The reissued fast packs contain DYRL off white side covers and the blank, build your own valk kits contain TV white colored side covers if you're picky.

  9. No idea if Yamato will do a re-issue for the VF-1J 30th. But we still have plenty of the standard VF-1J and super parts 30th:

    http://www.hkcollectibles.com/macross-robotech/7153-super-strike-parts-for-vf-1-with-optional-parts.html

Just a FYI for anyone interested. I ordered the standard VF-1J (along with a couple of VF-1S Hikaru) and they arrived in perfect condition. Also, the VF-1J I received is the later release just prior to the 30th Anniversary issues. That means it has all the fixes described in anymoon's blog - version 2.2 with clear canopy and 1/48 style crotch piece. Excellent!
