Grey+Orange is one of my favorite color combinations, but I kind of agree on the B scheme being boring. I think the reason I find it boring is because all the fast packs are the exact same shade of gray as the mech itself. It would be more interesting if they were a darker shade of gray for contrast. Maybe the same dark gray of the joints/feet/hands. That's one of the reasons why I like the C scheme better...because the fast packs actually contrast the naked mech.

I'm not the kind of guy to buy multiples of anything, but (speaking of paint schemes), I would buy another VF-11 in that blue camo scheme in the picture I posted in the 51 vs 27 thread. Sort of like Dobber's famous SV-51, but with a less jagged/splintered pattern. That would be boss.

The 21/22 is not bad, but I think in terms of sleekness the VF-11 takes the cake. That is one smooth and beautiful bird. The more I think about it, the less I think the word "sleek" is appropriate for the 51 and 27. Both are quite jaggedy and menacing, actually.

Sleeker?... If we're talking line art I think it's dead even. If we're talking 1/60 toys I'd give the edge to the 27. I can't put my finger on what it is, but the Yamato 51 didn't capture the sleekness of the F-mode quite like Hasegawa did. I'm an SV-51 fan though, myself. I don't like the SR-71 influence on the VF-27, or the oversized gunpod in F-mode, or Brera/Grace as characters very much.

I just realized the VF-19P also has the ventral fins, too. I never noticed those until right now. I think it's the only 19 variant other than the YF-19, (and the VF-19A which is basically just a YF-19 clone), that has those ventral fins.

Sounds like the VF-19P might be up your alley. I'm not sure how likely it is that Yamato will make it though. It would be very simple to do, but I don't think it ranks very high in popularity.

I personally have no love for Mac 7 designs, (only exception being the CF VF-11C), so if Yamato wants my money then designing a new YF-19 is the quickest way to get it. That being said, I do hope they get around to designing everything for the Mac 7 fans out there. It would be pretty cool to see pictures on this board of Emerald Force, Jamming Birds, and especially a completed Sound Force some day soon. It would be nice if one thing didn't have to get in the way of the other.

I'm actually coming around on the more widely spaced tail fins, myself. I don't have anything to base it on, but I think sales will do well. The YF/VF-19 is probably the most popular Valk after the VF-1, and VF-25. Shouldn't sales be better than a VF-11, SV-51, YF-21, or even a VF-27? I got the impression that those all sold well.

That would be pretty awesome, actually. They have some great schemes in there. I still hate the LERX and ankle ring verniers of all the major VF-19 variants though. Just my personal preference. I'm a YF-19 guy, and Isamu Dyson is pretty much my idol.

Well I'm still not crazy about the gap between the nose cone and torso in B-mode. The torso is riding high and blocks half the face if you look at it straight on. That's not line art accurate. I'm hoping the torso can be pushed down further but it really doesn't look like it can. That's what I'm praying for too.

So am I. But you know that some people will complain. The same people that want optional/fatter legs that they can plug in to their YF-21s for B-mode. And even though I'm not one of those people, I can see their point.

Totally agree. I'm not sure why people are saying the gullet looks smaller...I actually think it looks pretty large in the illustration. But if they can angle down the cockpit and nosecone like it's supposed to be, it's going to make all the difference. Yamato should think about including clip-on some fillers for the leg cut-outs too, because the holes in the legs look pretty fierce. I think the Hi-Metal has them, right? Perfect transformation be damned. It's close enough to PT, and some leg fillers will help Fire Valk vans to get that perfect Battroid.

At first I thought it was mis-transformed, or just that way because it's a prototype. It looks like the chest can be locked down further to eliminate the gap on top of the nose cone, and the gaps along the sides under the torso. But then I looked back at the concept art on page 8, and the gaps are there too. So now I think it's just the way it's designed. It's still looking pretty cool though. I'm happy for the Fire Valk fans, and I'm secretly hoping Yamato has learned from this and has plans for a 1/60 YF-19 2.0.

I saw it last night. Absolutely one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It's as original as just about any Charlie Kaufman movie, but also thrilling on an action level. So well done, and especially well written. Did Nolan write it too? I'm so impressed. This is what movie making is supposed to be. I am so sick of remakes, and reboots, and sequels, and live-action versions of cartoons, and comic book movies, and all the rehashed BS. Original ideas are what it's all about. I wanted to watch it again as soon as it was over.

I'm curious too. Regarding the common intake seen on some of the A-types and F/S-types, I wonder if that has something to do with the component design mentioned in Sketchley's translation. Like, maybe you can slap a VF-19A's intake/thighs on a VF-19F's frame and come up with a hybrid of the two? Just guessing. I'm starting to lose interest in Deadliest Warrior. Or at least, the scientific flaws are starting to drag my interest down. I recently watched Somali Pirates vs Medellin Cartel. They tested the PKM Machine Gun against the M60 Machine Gun, and gave the edge to the PKM over the M60 because the PKM only jammed once and the M60 jammed twice during the test. But who's to say the PKM wouldn't jam twice the next time they tested it, and the M60 might not jam at all? It's funny...they run the battle simulation 1000 times so there is no statistical variance, but they don't do the same thing when it comes to actually testing the weapons. They could at least test them 10 times each. That's not so hard.

Except Signs had something to say. I still think it's one of the best movies about spirituality/faith ever made. I didn't really get anything significant out of The Village. It was just a story.

I loved Unbreakable. And I loved Signs even more than 6th Sense and Unbreakable, in some ways. I don't understand how a director can go from 6th Sense/Unbreakable/Signs to The Village/Lady In The Water/The Happening. The Happening which by the way, is easily one of the absolute worst movies I've ever sat through. (Decent premise, but unbelievably bad execution). I was never interested in Air Bender to begin with as I'm not familiar with the series. But It just blows my mind how a director can lose his way so badly in such a short time frame. What the hell happened?

1. Recently correcting someone who used to watch Robotech as a child, on the difference between a Veritech Fighter and a Valkyrie. Someone who obviously had no interest in knowing the difference as an adult. That was definitely one of those "God I'm a nerd moments". 2. Spending way too much time and effort building a kick-ass (yet non-transformable) YF-19 out of lego. When I was in college. 3. Realizing that a very small part of me was getting caught up in the moment of a Macross 7 episode when Gigil started singing Basara's songs and coming over to the good side. This was embarrassing for me because I pretty much hated every minute of 7, and I was determined to keep on hating it. I only watched it out of obligation as a Macross fan, but Gigil still moved me. That's pretty damn nerdy.

Hate Fringe here. But I admit I didn't give it much of a chance. Only seen 3 episodes or so.
