  1. Hmm...I really hope that the rumor about Takara canceling the line isn't true but just a wake up call for Takara to stop making crappy models... the line has some serious ups and downs.

If it's true, I can see why Hasbro's milking the molds for all they can (referring to new repaints..)

I'm sure if the line's to continue on, they'll need to compensate for the lack of Takara's business.

  2. I will wait for pics, I am not loving the recent Alts most are meh. <_< Sigh and I use to love TFs, damn the limits for using only licensed molds! :angry

Mirage is pretty neat, and Prime is... tolerable...

I'll reserve judgement on rumble until I see the mold... still praying they don't make the thing transform like a goddamn cracked egg.

  3. We do have two Lightnings (95 & '03), but only one Cobra ('97).  The two older vehicles are basically worthless though since the market for 93-98 L's and 96-98 Cobras regularly has mint examples selling for way less than 10K.  (And ours are far from mint...I'm more the "drive the wheels off" than "pamper and trailer" type of owner.)  I just want a '93 since it was SVT's first Cobra.  (And because the IRS didn't hit us as hard this year).

The poor resale on Mustangs is kind of a double-edged sword, since on one hand they suck as invetsments or if you're trying to resell your car but on the other hand you can get a very fast car for relatively little money.

*Nods* The 94-98 GT's are all over the place here, and most can be had for 5K or less. And it has passed the true test of affordability...lots of the local college kids are driving them. ;) (Anyone who has had to pay their way through college knows how much disposable income that leaves you...)

So true, so true.. picked up my '96 GT in phenominal condition for 4500. I'm TRYING to save for some toys under the hood (and even started selling my *gasp* Macross toys.)

  4. It's just an artist's conception. I'd wait until we see SOME sort of prototype. I mean, God, it's awful. I'm sure (Pray, anyway) the final model looks better.

THAT's what scares me. Artist conceptions often look better than final results because intentionally or not they can cheat with scale or how well everything fits or accidentally throw in some more articulation than the final design allows. Maybe we're lucky and it's just the current favorite design out of two or three potential ones and somebody will pick one of the others.

This is true... Honestly, reminds me of a knock off more than something developed by a major company. Then again, I hated Prowl's robot mode until I got it.

Edit: Ebay Prime Testshot I'm going to try to win this.

  5. Between Rumble and Optimus, all I can say is 'Who got let go from the BT/Alt design team between them and the previous models?' At least Prowl, for all my dislike of him, actually has some nice spots. These are starting to look too regular current Transformer-ish...almost Masterpiece Gobot-ish.  :p

Disappointing....I like how his body looks like the old guy, but would prefer it didn't happen at the expense of hanging giants pieces of car off his arms.

Y'know, had they gone a similar route to my goofy idea of making the two tape dudes overly-street modded Civis, Rumble could've had dual mufflers that could've been his 'pile drivers'....oh well.

  6. Yeah, after the Honda Element, the Scion is probably the ugliest car I've ever seen... and why do you keep all your others in car mode?  That defies half of the point of Transformers....

I love the reaction when I tell folks that they're transformers.

  7. Just got my Case of 4 from BBTS with Tracks, Prowl, Skids, and Sunstreaker.  I opened the two new molds, Prowl and Skids.  Prowl is kinda dissapointing... the whiteish grey plastic looks very toylike and crappy and transparent, and the leg posiblity is nill.  Skids on the otherhand, is the best figure of the line so far, and maybe at all.  Transformation is awesome and bot mode is fantastic.  He's the most posable Alternator yet, has a really slick paint job, and alot of stuff is smaller and sleeker and more advanced roboty looking rather than big and chunky and wonky like some of the other ones (Prowl.)  I must say I am toughroughly impressed with Skids and it is easily my new favorite Alternator.  Grimlock can get some really dramatic poses and look sweet, but I think with a little effort Skids'l be able to blow him away.

Yea, Skids' bot mode is by far, the best of the line. I keep my Alternators in car mode, but this one will be the exception. It's for the best really, as I can't really stand the xB.

  8. I found a Decepticharge at Target today. I was surprised, they had three more, plus a Swerve, two Swindles, and IIRC, a Battle Ravage.

Edit: This one'll stay in 'bot mode, without a doubt, although the plays on the usual rice stickers are pretty amusing, with my favorites being the destron racing fuel/oil. I really with this had been clean, like Windcharger. My buddy's got a yellow s2000, and it's a beautiful car.

  9. My boss?

I'm working as a bouncer to pay off some debt (thanks to UF cutting back my funding.) I've got class MWF, and have it in my hiring agreement NOT to work Tuesday, Thursday, OR Sunday (early ass class.) Now I'm working, with nothing done for tomorrow's class (due to a sick friend.... God bless good deeds. It's becoming apparent that human decency is about as productive as an American auto worker...)

So, I work tonight, and somehow have to manage six hours of aerospace-related homework, at a bar....

I guess, on the bright side, I AM allowed to beat around "trouble markers," so I guess I'll have plenty of opportunity for anger management.

  10. My feelings are with ya, man.

One of my best friends here lives (lived) in Lakeview. Hell, I stayed with his family not more than two weeks ago on my way back to school... can't believe it's all submerged under, what, fifteen feet of lakewater?
