  1. I just bought my PS3 two days ago. I got Ninja Gaiden Sigma, as it seemed to be the only game worth buying. I'm a former Xbox 360 owner, but I got the f--k rid of it as soon as it did the red light thing. So far, I really like my ps3. While Sigma's graphics aren't as good as Gears of War, and the ps3 line of games leaves something to be desired, I'm positive that in the future, the ps3 is gonna' kick the 360's azz up and down the block. Once game designers get used to the cell processor technology, it's going to be gamers paradise. Right now I'm EAGERLY awaiting Bladestorm, Dynasty Warriors Gundam, Metal Gear, and Final Fantasy XIII. Any one of those games is enough to make me not care about missing out on Halo 3.
  2. Did gugava ever sing in M7? Just wondering. - and will he be in the new series? God I hope so.
  3. I'm sorry, but anything beats M2. No offense. 1 minute of FLCL is more entertaining and is more Macross-ish than M2. Don't know if anyone will understand that comment - but I really didn't enjoy purchasing M2 and THEN getting a chance to watch it. Utter despair and disappointment.
  4. I think everybody wants Yamato to make an official one, the problem I see though, is trying to get rights from Haswegawa to do something like that, which Yamato probably isn't interested in pursuing when they can keep pumping out their own slightly less-cool stuff. Who knows, maybe one day they'll sell a VF1S (Roy Fokker style) with a red and blue Hikaru pilot.... and charge the usual price.
  5. Sick sick sick! I love it!
  6. Absolutely gorgeous. I'm glad I made mine when Anasazi was still in business... cost me a lot less than 500 bucks to do it myself.
  7. Okay maybe I really missed something here. This "kissdum" thing, uh, it isn't THE new macross series is it? I'm not totally up-to-date on this thread, so, uhm, yeah. Quell my fears. The new series isn't fairies and a guy with a mud...log-arm .. thing. right?
  8. Having them sit on a shelf, man. That really wears them down I tell ya'. Maybe that's why none of my other 15 or so game systems have ever had a problem.
  9. Pretty interesting that someone other than myself actually knows who Rob Liefeld is! I still have the 1st issue of some lame comic he came out with for image back in the day.
  10. Only regrets I have are I'll never play Halo 3, or Gears of War 2. And indeed, those are deep, deep regrets. BTW, it was a salesman at Game Crazy who told me Microsoft only puts out the premiums now, my apologies for his uh, confusing the 360 with the PS3. (?) I think I'm gonna' go with the option EGM posted on their cover for this month's issue - wait before I invest in an upgraded version of the 360, or a PS3. After reading about F.E.A.R. becoming such an awful port for the PS3, I have my doubts as to how well game manufacturers will be able to utilize its capabilities. IF Microsoft can produce a nondefective product Sony's azz may be thoroughly kicked. Time will tell. Until then, I'm gonna' come back to this thread AGAIN and AGAIN waiting for the next of you to have an awesome red ring experience. HA!
  11. 30% so FAR. Before the next-next-gen consoles hit the scene (in what, 5 years? Maybe less?) I think YOU and everyone else with a 360 will experience the joy of refurbishing, just like I did. And I don't think anybody in their right mind would like to spend money on a core system (which I believe they don't SELL anymore) after their other one red-rings them into an aneurism. Hey - I like the Xbox360 games. Hell, that's why I bought one. But having to get it repaired after barely playing it for a few months? Pffft. I don't have the time for something that problematic.
  12. I agree. I value my entertainment time a ton, because I don't get enough of it. (who does?) I grew up with video games - I've been buying new systems since my first NES. The only one I ever had tank on me was the first xbox I ever bought (it only worked with one game in the end - Halo, which is how I duped gamestop into taking it off my hands long ago, which I still feel sorta' guilty about.) And then years later, my 360 goes down REAL fast. "wtf" Microsoft? I guess I'm just not forgiving when it comes to spending this kind of money. If I spend the money to purchase a Rolls Royce it'd better not have the drive shaft fall out onto the freeway during its first 2000 miles. If I spend 400 bucks on a console, well, same idea. I know technology has come a long way since sega genesis, and it's a lot easier for problems to occur; I'll wait and see if ps3's start bottoming out all over the place before I invest in one. Halo 3 had better be reeeeeeeeeeeeeeaally good if I'm going to risk purchasing one of the "new new new" 360s (Elite-ultra-super-duper-small-chip-slow-melt-edition or whatever.) I didn't know Bungie was owned by Microsoft. bummer.
  13. Dej - unlike a Macross 7 thread, people jump on you here for criticizing the mighty xbox. (And unlike Macross 7, one can actually PROVE that the xbox360 fundamentally sucks.) Well I'm not "trolling" this thread - I just come here to check if someone else's console has busted yet. As for purchasing an extended warranty to avoid the loss of paying 400+ dollars for a new Xbox, well, I'd just call that prolonging the inevitable. I myself purchased the extended warranty... and sold it on ebay along with the system once I got it back from the repair center. I lost money big-time on ebay selling my box and all the extras but at least I saved myself a future aneurism. The thing that baffles me is that in all my video game mags, all the exclusive games seem to be going to the 360 now. (?!?!?!) I can't believe people are actually clinging to a system that is going to die. I don't mean in general, I just mean that anyone who purchases a 360 is going to have to get it repaired sometime, period. I'll wait and see if the Xbox's "new" 360s don't die practically fresh-out-of-the-box, but even if they're built worth a crap I still think I'd walk on by. I think it's pretttttttty sad when you have to redesign a system because it was constructed so poorly to begin with. And what's even sadder is all the killer games I'll be missing out on because of my disdain for Microsoft. (Please oh please bungie get greedy and put Halo 3 on the Ps3) EDIT: 3% FAILURE RATE MY A-S-S. Microsoft has BALLZ to assert THAT claim. More like 30%; I'd estimate more.
  14. My 360 broke down real fast. My nephew's friend's 360 broke down (not sure how long he had his) and he "claims" that more kids at his school have had breakdowns. A coworker of my wife's had his 360 break down about a week ago. The funny thing is that personally, I don't know many (or of many) people who own 360s. But everyone I do know has had them go out. When mine died I sold it on ebay with all the accessories for a LOT less than I paid for it. I kind of regret it, because I see all of the sudden a bunch of nice games coming exclusively to the 360. But then I think of my hassle, and about all the word-of-mouth horror stories like mine and I'm just happy to be rid of the thing. Note: Sony didn't pay me money (though I wish they'd have) to post this. I don't believe that Sony paid off anyone I know to go around spreading tales of xbox doom. I don't believe that Sony has organized some massive secret campaign to make everyone be afraid of buying a 360; Microsoft has done that on their own - and paid for it themselves too!
  15. I'd be surprised to discover Toynami plans anything out ahead of time at all. I'd place their advance thinking at 2 months at most. This gives them plenty of time to react to any given situation, and to screw over macross/robotech fans easier.
  16. I didn't accept it. As soon as mine displayed red-rings of death I got it sent in for repairs and had it sold on ebay by the time it arrived back at my house. I'll never buy a microsoft vid-game system again. (After having two faulty xbox ones, I find the matter reprehensible.)
  17. Maybe they'll make a Minmay man-doll to go with Hikaru?
  18. Yeah, and look at that buffed-out venom in the upper left.
  19. Personally, I think if they do release anymore 1/100s, it'll be like this: 1. You can buy DYRL fast-packed valks, NO armor sold seperately 2. Also, FP'd valks from the TV series, again, you'll have to purchase the valk with the armor. 3. Of course, a cannon fodder 1A. 4. MAYBE Max's 1A as a "special" release or comic-con thing. 5. Maybe GBP, sold without a valk. And then there's the possibility that they won't MAKE anymore 1/100s. In that case, get ready to customize customize customize.
  20. No doubt that looks cool. But color it red and it's that carnage fellow.
  21. Oo's and Aah's from this corner, still.
  22. Well I'm sure Venom will have a miniscule role to play, and yeah, he'll be the main villain in part 4. They'd better make brock bulk-up for the sequel. They already HAVE a skinny version of Venom in the comic world, and I believe his name's Carnage. (Although I'd effectively stopped collecting by the time this guy came out) To me anyway, Venom will always be this - Hulk + Spiderman + (generic psychopath) = Venom Oh man when he came out he was awesome. I wish I'd kept those issues. I was depressed when Todd quit the amazing, happy when he came out with his own spiderman, and bummed again with the advent of Spawn, which I could never bring myself to get into.
  23. I'm tellin' ya', those 1/100's are some awesome lookin' toys.
  24. They're in every-single scene in space, it's just like sum said, you can't see'em because of the paint job. You turn on an episode of Macross, and I'll point out a stealth 1J.
  25. To anyone who actually used to collect comics back when Todd McFarlane drew the Amazing Spiderman and Venom was brand-new, this movie's version of Eddie Brock is a laughable joke. Brock was a gigantic weight-junkie in his 30's or 40's, not some skinny kid. I don't know the name of the guy playing Venom in the movie, but I can tell you that this is a travesty. *points to the picture of the toy up there* Look at that skinny thing. How's he supposed to be scary? Venom was cool because he was a super-huge, almost Hulk-size version of spidey, not because he had a grill. He was dangerous because he combined super-strength with super-agility, not because he could bite you.
