I see in pic 2 the Navy can't afford missiles any more so they shoot American flags at incoming ordnance
-
Can you get this in Japan? ELO
-
I fail to see what cost has to do with it
It took one sheet of the small & approx half a sheet of the large. 623Y all up, a real bank breaker

Nice, but no substitute for time and effort.
Time & effort? The tape doesn't apply itself

Meant to say clear blue
-
Clear red is usually orange-red. That's why it doesn't work with blue well. Orange+blue=brown.
Gunze clear red & clear purple. approx 50/50 mix. Looks purple to me
Top pic is painted side bottom pic is unpainted side. It's a bit uneven because it's brushed on.

Man that's one sexy tank there
it looks awesome.
Thanks

Nice work painting the weapons. Haven't got around to mine yet.
Thanks. That was the big let down with both kits. The figures need no painting apart from a clear coat to get rid of the plastic look but the weapons were all one colour and it wasn't even close to what they were supposed to look like.

I have not watched any of the OVA's other than the Last Red Shoulder.
I am kinda scared too. I love the original show so much..
I've just finished marathoning Pailsen Files, Shining Heresy, Phanton Arc, Case Irvine & Finder so here's my 2 bobs worth.
IMHO if you want to keep the memory of the original show untarnished then leave well enough alone.
Shining Heresy was probably as close as you're going to get to the original show but it really didn't add anything and was pretty silly in places.
Pailsen Files was for the most part as boring as bat sh!t. The action was few and far between. I'm afraid I'm not a fan of cgi battle scenes, lots of flashy explosions but too fast to take in what's going on. Nicely detailed but I felt it didn't really add anything to the story line as most of it was only elaborating on things that you got from the original series.
Phantom Arc, yak, yak, yak! Some nice animation, the original gang was back together and that was it. Total waste of 2 and a bit hours.
Case Irvine has absolutely nothing to do with the original series apart from the VOTOM's themselves. It's just another cgi fest.
Finder. I didn't even finish it. How they can claim this has anything to do with VOTOMS is beyond me. It's just another cgi fest with smart arse kids thrown in. I suppose it would appeal to the Dragon Booster set but it should not be associated with the VOTMS series.
If you want to keep the memory of the original series alive give the above OVAs a miss, I know I regret watching them

But Glaug Booster was in 1/100... it was a Samurai Monkey kit.
It was still made by John wasn't it.
The tachikoma is a Samurai Monkey kit and yet it's still made by John.

Why hasn't this waste of bandwidth been locked

Another Chicken Little
Be careful of anything that glows in the dark, at least you won't have to buy any display lights for your cabinet .

You'd better run outside and check the sky as well, you never know

This showed up in the mail yesterday.
Stop or I'll kwai you to death!
Pretty easy build. The longest parts were waiting for the paint to dry. Lot of pre-painted parts. They are removed from sprue painted then put in separate plastic bags. There is still a bit of painting to be done to make it look right.
