  1. Here's Alex Ross on the DC Multiverse. I know the DC multiple Earth theory got a "wee bit convoluted" but it was still fun. It was the only way they could get away with having a adult Robin and super-heroes having children. Ala the groovy "Super Sons" (Superman Jr. and Batman Jr.). :p

  2. SNK/Playmore has revealed that KOF's New Heroes Team will include Terry Bogard and Joe Higashi of Fatal Fury. They will have the Garou: Mark of Wolves look. I've been a big fan of King of Fighters since 94 so I can't wait. The game will be in arcades but when will a KOF game be released on consoles?

  3. I caught the episode, very nice. It look like Magneto was actually acting as a teacher during the future glimpse. The Dark Pheonix was a nice touch, its bound to happen sooner or later, it always does. I didn't catch the Shield thing but I did see the Brotherhood. They look good as adults. Rogue will get her flying ablitiy which is cool. There has to be more after this, the Apocalypse arc was great. If they do more I hope they keep up this level of quality in the arcs.

The Brotherhood was standing in a room that had a Shield emblem. A few years ago in the comics the Brotherhood became goverment agents as Freedom Force.

  4. Prof. X, Storm, Magneto, and Mystique became The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse. When the X-Men freed them of the mind control, Xavier glimpsed into the future and saw many changes. First, Magneto appeared to have reformed and joined the X-Men. Secondly, Jean Grey went crazy and became Dark Pheonix. Next, The Brotherhood became agents of Shield. And, an army of Sentinels filled the sky. Finally, we see the adult future X-Men with Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Iceman, and Magma. Both Marvel and Kids WB haven't announced a fifth season yet but after seeing that a fifth season is a must.

  5. God. I wish they would move away from Macross. That's all Yune wants to do it seems. Macross all the time, ignore Southern Cross part of RT(a complete 1/3 of the series) and slowly come out with New Generation which will most likely be a rehash of an old comic series just the way the prequel comic was a rehash of the old Graphic Novel and Return to Macross comics(I think it was Return). Honestly if it wasn't for my childhood memories, not even sure about that anymore, I wouldn't care about these new comics. I want them to do well but what is bring produce is making that hard.

If the new series SK is working on turns out to be Macross related I just might have to say good bye to RT or at least treat it as one of the series I keep on my back burner.

Everyone is making such a big deal that Amano is doing the cover. Big dea. It means nothing if the actual comic is crap. Sure it will look great but story is what is important. Two stories in each issue. Like Love and War, I really find it hard to see how well they can tell a story that way when it will be shortened due to having a Macross story in the comic as well.l

I think Tommy Yune is trying to add cohesion to Robotech by adding Macross characters in a NG flashback story. Yes, they are treating SC like a forbidden topic but you just can't omit it because it was the least popular part.

  6. I would love an OVA in wich the macross 7 fleet is completely blown away so we can forget about all the crap that the series came with... yes, yes... I know I'm gonna get a flame war, but I don't want anything that resembles macross 7 in future series!

You're totally right. BG needs to go back to basics with this one. A serious SF drama with romantic overtones. Not a J-Pop fiasco. <_<

  7. I was going through all the crap I saved as a kid and came across a 1988 Robotech Calendar. That was one of the screen shots and I thought it might have been Hikaru (Rick) and Misa (Lisa Hayes).

They look real close to those characters.

    Scot

In Robotech, their names are Mark Landry and his girlfriend Becky(sorry, I don't know her last name.). In Megazone 23, it's Shogo and Yui. Carl Macek intended Mark to be a "cousin"(?) of Rick's. Maybe because he looked so much like him. Also, the same animators who worked on Macross did Megazone 23. Hal Mikomoto, the character designer of Macross, also did the character designs. To me, Yui and Eve always seemed more close to Lynn Minmay but not to Misa.

  8. Going through some of my video game magazines for a garage sale, I saw a VHS of Megazone 23 being sold in one of the magazines, released by Orion.

Cool picture though. A happy ending ^_^ I may just be blanking out, but who's that guy with the black haired girl? I know who she is, and I remember in the end of the movie she got a call from here dad, but is that her dad? I thought he looked different...

In the Robotech dub, her name is Stacy Embry. The man is her father Minister of Defence Daryl Embry. Go to the link I posted above read the review of the movie.

  9. I've never seen the Robotech Movie edit of Megazone, but I do know the extra animation bit was tacked onto the beginning of Macek's unreleased dub of part II (a bootleg copy of that was one of my first introductions to anime). It does use the part I character designs.

Macek could've used the scene for both the Robotech Movie and the Megazone 23 prt. 2 dub. I think either HG or Streamline did release Megazone 23 without any reference to Robotech. Also, Robotech the Movie was shelved and was hardly seen by anyone. He could've utilized the footage from the movie and added them on the part 2 dub. A few years ago I saw the comic adaption of the Robotech movie; the last panel ended the same way as the picture above. Remember, Carl Macek is the "King of Edits". :D:D

  10. I don't know what series this picture is from but the guy looks alot like Hikaru.

    Anyone know for sure?

    Scot

I think it's the end of Robotech the Movie aka "The Unknown Story". Cannon, the company who distributed the film, didn't like parts of the movie. So Southern Cross animation was added with the existing Megazone 23 footage to make it more battle friendly. It changed the feel of the movie; HG commisioned Artmic, who did the original Megazone 23 anime, to animate a brand new ending. Megazone 23 didn't end that way. Where did you get it? I've been looking for anything about Robotech the Movie for years. Here's a link to give you a review of the movie:robotechmovie

  11. Besides, most rational fans don't dispute that B+B did great things for TNG.  Most people are just saying that they need to give it up and move on...........after all Roddenberry had to do the same, why doesn't that apply to these two?

Err.. Roddenberry "gave up" Star Trek due to unavoidable circumstances (ie, passing away). Unless of course you're suggesting the same fate for B&B.

Wait, I think Cag meant when the show was cancelled in 1967.

  12. Lemme see if I got this straight.....she wants out of X-men to do movies like this?

I love the X-Men but we all know it's really all about Wolverine. He's the only character that will get a spin-off movie. Halle hasn't really done all the cool things Storm has done in the comics.
