  1. First layers of lacquer brushed on. Will do one more thin application and then it’s time to assemble and move onto the main body prep.
  2. @Big s I had no idea that sharpie had metallic colored markers. The build looks great and thanks for the heads up. Might have to track a couple of the markers down. Did you do a top coat over them?
  3. Theater-scout primed in mahogany and ready for some painting. Going to brush lacquers on this kit since I had so much fun with that Ma.k. Most of the parts need to be relatively “finished” before the main body can be assembled, puttied, sanded, painted etc…
  4. Hahaha.
  5. That’s such a great design. Might have to order one. 🤤 I Don’t know too much about Wave, but I loved the couple FFS kits I built. I appreciate the box to be large enough to accommodate a completed model “with some dismantling if possible like removing arms, legs etc…” for safe storage until a proper display presents itself.
  6. Coming along. 👍 What’s up with that Chocobo!? We love Lego and video games over here. It’s a family affair.
  7. @pengbuzzThanks for sharing. It’s wonderful to have such an amazing partner in life. ♥️ Working with yard debris. Making some dry environmental grass clumps. Good old white glue don’t fail me now. 😂
  8. Awesome! I’m excited to see some pics. 😊
  9. Hahaha Thanks. I am liking this brush painting thing. Having fun. I have also collected a bunch of debris from my yard for the display along with some coffee stirrers per suggestion, and used some air dry clay slapped on top of an old yogurt lid. Being resourceful feels good and I hope I can pull off a proper diorama/stand.
  10. Cluck cluck cluck Just need to add a bit of super glue at feet leg connection to fill that tiny tiny gap. Probably do a wash and a gloss on the tail feathers
  11. Thanks so much. I do want to try out that technique. I am working my way to the VE-1. Maybe I try it on that one. 👍
  12. Hahaha. I like that idea. @BoltThanks.
  13. Farm animal auditions are tonight. I think I’m going with chicken. Goose is great but tonight’s not your night.
  14. Nice! Excited to see this one.
  15. Love the suggestions. I think I’m leaning into a chicken or goose and smaller animals. I feel like those animals may survive some apocalyptic events. Small and able to reproduce fast. Also maybe a Rabit could work? I like the idea of included some detritus showing signs of what used to be a farm or human element like the fence or maybe even Brocken boards. 👍 I got work to do. Lol
  16. Paint is almost done. I like all the weathering that came with just the brush painting portion of the process. I also did a small amount of preliminary damage with fine grit sandpaper buffing to some areas along with a few slices with a file. Now It’s time for decals, to then more weathering/chipping and then painting the detail parts like lenses and any touch ups. I am unsure as of now if I’ll top coat it? I should be getting that 1:35 animal set delivered today so I will be making a small diorama stand. I have never done before so any advice is welcome. Might just go in the backyard and get some dirt and tiny wood pieces and use good old Elmer’s white glue.
  17. @nightmareB4macross so cool. Oh and that little trainer bot thing. Love it!
  18. I am also in the dark as far as the lore goes besides any translation I have read on the sides of the kit box(es). I am curious to find out more.
  19. This is a land based version lacking propulsion on the back. Went ahead and ordered that Tamiya livestock set. Got my eyes on a baby 🐖 or 🪿
  20. Yeah this kit is tiny at 1/35 and I’m doing a straight build which allows me to progress rather quickly. I may add a base to this which will haven’t done before. Maybe add a 1/35 scale animal buddy in there if I can find one in time? I'm also excited to see your build. Make sure and post some progress shots. 👍
  21. Looks great. Can you remind me what tabletop game these are for?
  22. Two coats before bedtime. Back at it tomorrow night for another coat or more. Regardless of the outcome I’m really enjoying this process. It’s very calming and its randomness makes it exciting. Main armor is Mr Color 21 Middle Stone over mahogany primer. Wanting to do some markings in an off white and I’m thinking the Neupanzerschrecks would look good in Mr color 512 Russian Green ? Not sure.
  23. Hahaha. I stay up late after I get the kiddo to bed so I can find some free time. I have to act fast if I want to get any building done. Been doing too many late nights lately. Running on 5 hours of sleep on consecutive days catches up to me at work. Not getting any younger over here. Wow! Getting closer. It’s so nice to see these two side by side. Once that primer and paint goes down! Can’t wait.
  24. @SteveTheFish Sounds cool. Rippin into this little 1/35 Artpla Ma.K. As fast as I can. Got it primed in Mahogany, did a first round of seam removal/putty. Moving into a second round of sanding/putty to tighten things up. Got a bit of MR Color 28 on the exposed frame parts and hand. Once seams are completely gone and final bits attached I’m going in for brush painting lacquers. I wanted to do this for my last build but chickened out and went back to the airbrush. Well the subject matter and tradition set me on a certain trajectory to try out something new and experimental for me. So excited 😆
