Yea please! I see it there in the background. ♥️

Gimme gimme. Haha

@Big s Such a smart and simple idea on trimming pegs at an angle. Brilliant! Once I ease this kit apart I’m going to trim down those pegs.

@pengbuzz @sketchley Thanks for the tips. @MechTech Thanks for the link. There is a lot of great details in there.

So taking apart the MG Tallgeese after test fitting is so sketchy. The fit on everything is so precise and tight I’m thinking I’m bound to break something. Do people who build Gundam kits skip the test fits because of this or do any of you have pointers for parts separation?

Hey, thanks for the heads up. I’ll look that up. Also great work on the Hikaru. Love it! I didn’t know about the IPMS. I joined today. And I might see if I can go to the Albany show with some of my builds.

@MechTech I tried searching for any modeling clubs/groups in my area “Portland,OR USA” and can’t find anything. When I stumbled upon this convention I figured it might be a way to connect with other nerds like myself. lol

Wow. That looks better than I had expected. I’ll have to order one. 👍

@SteveTheFish good idea on using Lego joints. Also thanks for the compliment. Same goes to you. I have test to try any resin kits and think I may take the plunge his year. @MechTech really appreciate all the tips and things to consider. This will be at a anime convention in OCT. It appears that dressing up cosplay and performing is the main focus and models being secondary so there is that. Details are still not cemented as I reached out for more info. Stay tuned I guess. I’m excited to try some new things. @pengbuzzLooking good!

So nice having help with decals. ♥️

@pengbuzz oh I like that. @Big s @Gabe Q thanks so much for the suggestions!

So yeah, this is my first go with a MG kit and I have to say they are wildly advanced. Test fit went together super fast and easy and looks great, but there was something missing. Call me crazy, but I’m not sure if I had fun building it I guess. I really appreciate it for its amazing quality, details and accessibility, but it really lacked some charm for me. I think mostly since I have never dedicated any time to the series at large. Not sure, but I hope I find some joy in removing the few seam lines present and painting it. Might do a dark, possibly black scheme or something? 🤔

No more loose hatch on the monster. Went for some magnets now I hope I can cover them up so they don’t look so out of place. 🤔 Also decided to submit a model for a show event. This will be a first on many levels. It has to be a Bandai kit and Gundam. I don’t know anything about Gundam so I went with this Tallgeese kit. I thought it looked cool and would be fun. I have only built the entry grade RX-78-2 kits so a MG should keep me busy. Now to think of a badass color scheme?

I see. That’s a bummer. The 1-D is getting reissued. Maybe we see the same with Hayao and having it available for all regions?

Was it limited release? Is Mandrake an option?

The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post

More of this please! ♥️ -
@PhotogirlLooks great!

Yeah I’m not sure if I will tackle the polycap parts like you said, paint is not its friend. Also good call on the wire for feet. I totally didn’t realize it’s present in the official art and not the kit.

These bright paint schemes are great!

While the search continues for the right ball joints for my Monster build I did a quick test fit on this Seapig. The Wave, Ma.k. kit went together very well. It’s going to need lots of seam removal but the fit is very precise. When it’s time to come back and work on this, the plan is doing the whole brush painted lacquer thing. Excited to try something new.

You totally should! Thanks so much. I’m new to model building and figure these older, affordable kits will be the best route to bust my chops and learn. Nothing to it but to do it. 😊 *Just noticed your handle. Are you one of the WiseGuyHobbies, guys? I only bring it up since I bought that Super and many other kits from WGH off of EBAY. Always a good resource for these old kits.
-
Yeah I’m going to add ball joints all around the kit and post updates as I dig in.

Never skip Chin day. Looking Awesome.
