  1. I am in the process of cleaning up my stash, cataloging my kit manuals, decals and extra parts hands etc… and recycling all these empty boxes. Anyway I discovered I had a resin kit in my stash all this time and never opened it and completely overlooked it. I don’t even remember when I bought it. Lol. I’m old and will use that as my excuse. Anyway I pinned it up quick this morning. It’s very very basic with only a few pieces but needs lots of clean up. It’s the Hasegawa Macross DYRL Miria non scale figure. This will be my first figure build and hope to work on it this year if possible. It will look nice next to her Q-Rau
  2. Millions of seam lines later I’m about to prime this 🦖 today. I’m guessing I’ll have to do additional surface prep once the primer reveals errors in my hasty work. I had lots of ambitious plans for this old fella but I am feeling lazy so this will be a straight build without modding anything.
  3. Got some better pics of an old kit I build this past year. I’m so looking forward to the new version coming out this year.
  4. @505thAirborne Wow that came out great! It’s hard to tell how big it is but it really has a presence
  5. I hear this. That’s my situation right now. hahaha. Devils advocate. I see you
  6. I want this! Do I want this? 🤔
  7. I’m ready for this. Missed out on the larger tomahawk.
  8. Built up a tiny PKA with my kiddo. I really like these 1/35 Artpla MaK kits. They usually come two or three per box so you can give one to a friend or build them up with optional gear/parts that they come with. Great value and smart fool proof construction that has creative peg shapes so there is no guess work. Mak for dummies. Hahaha
  9. Best time to slack off is at work. As long as your stuff is done on time. I see it as a prime opportunity to talk about models, food, or how to make repairs in your home or car if ya have one. What have you. 😂
  10. Oh wow!!! Happy birthday to you and yours. That’s super exciting. I turn 50 in June. Bunch of bicentennial babies right here. ♥️ Please post your VF-1A if you find the time. Would love to see it. Stayed up late lastnight doing the test fit on the Our Treasure 1/144 Gatexion Mark3 Dharmas. This little model has a ton of detail and is going to take a lot of effort to correct seams and paint. It’s really back heavy too. I am going to mess around with the balance when final construction happens. Would like to avoid a stand if possible. I do have to say I’m loving the wild design. There’s a lot going on here.
  11. Phase 2 of operation Jurassic model in effect. Putty applied. We wait to see if it has any effect. Hold on to your butts. Every piece has a seam. This is going to be quite an adventure. I was too preoccupied to see if I could and didn’t stop to see if I should … make this build work
  12. @tekering hahaha. Yeah this dinosaur has its issues but life finds a way. Any updates on the Bioroid?
  13. @Cheese3 nice! Test build on the Spartan was fast a fun. Also enjoying a sunny winter day in Portland. No rain! Where am I? lol whenever I can I love to do bench work upstairs in the sunlight if it’s not going to be too stinky or messy. Also this IMAI 1/72 is around 18cm tall. Not too shabby
  14. Yeah I’m really enjoying the super simple build. Having fun and it looks like it might stand taller than I had expected. The rest fit is almost complete
  15. Got this Spartan a couple weeks back from Wiseguys for a good price because of a damaged box. Might slap it together today in a fixed pose and brush paint this sucker later. It’s missing a ton of detail which I may try and add in. Not a sure thing since I’m feeling rather lazy. *Side note the missile bays don’t open which is a head scratcher. Maybe I try and add those in there?
  16. Thanks @Big s I have used Milliput and like it and imagine it will adhere to resin. One way to find out. (= @Thom hahahaha i have been home for a couple days with a sick kiddo and found some time to dig into this mess of a project. All smiles though considering
  17. Pinning is taking awhile on this one. There aren’t any clear connection points on this old recast so it’s a huge learning experience for me. There is going to be plenty of areas that need cleaning up and gaps to fill. Some small tips of pieces came broken in the box so I am attempting to reattach and sculpt them using some CA glue and baking soda. Hope it works. Also structurally this thing is very back heavy with the wings so I need to make sure when the time comes that the feet are securely attached to some sort of base or this thing will never stand in its own. It’s still early on but I’m excited for this build. It’s my first figure build too which may lead to others. For those who build resin kits on here what’s your go to for gap filler putty? Also any preference on CA glue type or epoxy?
  18. Hey thanks so much all of you @Big s @derex3592 @Thom means a lot coming from you guys. 👍
  19. @nightmareB4macross here’s an up to date pic of my display cabinet. This is almost all of my builds since I started getting close to 2 years now. I’m almost out of room already. 🙃 Please excuse the backdrop. My bench is in the basement next to the furnace.
  20. I took a few better quality phone pics of that old theater scout from last year that I brush painted with lacquers.
  21. Hahahaha. I posted this on another forum and someone said it looks like the mech is skiing. Hahaha
  22. Thanks so much. It’s all because of your generosity and thoughtfulness. Here’s some better pics with some lighting. The lack of detail under the skirt armor is really bugging me. I will revisit this soon and add some .3mm pla plates under there and paint them frame color. That will help out a lot I think.
  23. Thanks. I didn’t topcoat any of this. Not sure if it will affect the color or not. Probably do a test under the skirt armor since it lacks any details and honestly needs some love…aka panel details added eventually anyways. This kit lacks most details we see in any IMS kits which came later. I think this was Volks first go at FSS as a plastic injection kits based on resin kits they put out. The surfaces that are outward facing have ok detail, everything else lacks any surface detail and instead is riddled with injection marks, large void areas and rough textures. Not a complaint, it is what it is.
  24. @Big s good recommendation. I’ll remember that one. KOG over the 7777 is about done. This one shows its age and I did what I could. Still plenty of spots I’d like to rework/dial in and may revisit it later but I want to move along. This train ain’t stopping. lol I’ll get quality pics later tonight.
