Maybe I’m a freak, but I like the whole putty, sand, prime, sand, putty, prime, paint loop. It just feels good once it all comes together. I work it like a meditation. Maybe having a kid has honed my ability to be patient and work patiently? Lol

Congrats on a remodel. House updates never end. My wife has a list on our fridge with everything we need to work on and it feels great when we get to cross off a completed project. A basement remodel is next. Can’t wait! I need to buy a proper display case eventually. My completed builds are stacking up and sadly live in their boxes and never see the light of day 😔 I’m excited and intrigued about what you are going to share. Look forward to it. 👍

@derex3592Wow, thanks so much for the post. I agree with what @Big s said. This kit looks way better than I had imagined. It’s next up on my bench after the Glaug. I’ll take a bunch of photos as I progress through the build. I have been trying to hunt down the remaining ARII fleet but the resale on those ships is very high so it’s hard to purchase right now. I’ll keep looking and hope I find a deal.

Did panel lines and a dark wash and will call it good for now. Want to add some chipping and basic weathering later. I’m happy with how this little buddy turned out. @Big s @Gabe Q Hey, thanks! 👍

Ready for panel liner and wash. Then final assembly with a few small pieces on the back of the legs. The photos look blue but it’s a deep purple scheme.

I have seen 3 versions. Green, purple, and that light blue version. I’m leaning towards the purple.

Cool. Thanks. I was tempted to get purple power but chose LA Totally Awesome based of early recommendations and the name. Reminds me of something from Wayne’s world! Lol Wonder if IMAI was like, “well we have a bunch of this color so let’s use it.” Hahaha. @Big s Grey and white makes sense to me. So I am in phase two of putty, glueing, and sanding on this little fella. I think I need to shorted the cannon stand a couple mm. It looks a bit high off the shoulders but most of this is going to just be a straight build. Having fun so far.

Yeah. It was a fun surprise seeing there was any color separation at all on this kit. Maybe it’s the same colors as the non “iron type” not sure.

@joscasleThose look great! @pengbuzz love it! Oh and thanks for the recommendation on LA Awesome! It only took about 20 mins of soaking and the chrome came off without any scrubbing at all. Now rinsed off and drying. Much appreciated 👍

The pilot is charming, but I’m building the power suit in a closed position. I might return to the pilot later as a companion build to stand alongside the suit.
