  1. Thanks for sharing. That’s a great looking build. 👍
  2. It’s LED Mirage time. 1:144 light armament version. Very excited for this little gem. The pearlescent armor along with silver and gold spot colors are going to look great! The armor is semi-transparent which may allow the dark purple/silver and lavender frame get a little reveal here and there. Might be a cool effect 😊 Only issue so far has been the poly caps in the knees were so tight it caused the plastic on both to split and need repairs. As long as I can get it into a simple standing pose when completed that’s fine with me.
  3. @derex3592Wow! That looks amazing. I was obsessed with the blackbird when I was young. I had one that was a rocket you could launch. It was amazing until the parachute didn’t deploy on the way down. Hahahaha. @LocusPocus That looks great! I also have one in the stash I hope to get to soon. @nightmareB4macross Is there no end to your madness? 😳 Ok so I’m all done with the Volks 1:144 Neptune. Not tooting my own horn but I am starting to see progress in my building and painting abilities when looking back at past builds. It feels good. Still lots to learn and the more opportunities I have to build will help me get the skills I need to get better. Better late than never getting into the hobby. Loving it. A huge thanks to everyone on this forum. Y’all have giving me plenty of confidence and support. 👍
  4. Hey thanks. 👍
  5. You rock! Thanks a bunch.
  6. How long is the cure time? I need to put a solvent AKA lighter fluid on the surface to clean it up and hope it doesn’t dissolve the paint. I might do a test tonight and see what happens. Not sure if they play well together.
  7. Hey thanks so much. Means a lot. 👍 Do you happen have any experience with Vallejo acrylics?
  8. I went rouge and just went to it. I think for its tiny size it will look just fine. I am unsure how long it takes for Vallejo to cure, but I need to hit this with some lighter fluid to clean up the wash that I put down before painting so the edges look tighter. I may also add a very thin black wash to edges once I’m done and then gloss it up. I think it’s looking more natural than the decal. Not necessarily better but I like it.
  9. Hand paint. No fear. Hahahaha
  10. Decided to add a light wash to the raised area so I can see what the hell I’m about to paint. It’s go time.
  11. @nightmareB4macross
  12. Wow! What an amazing design and equally beautiful build. Outstanding work! I assume this is a resin kit? I have yet to jump into that world. One day when I have more $$$ Thanks for the vote of confidence of brush painting. I bet I can pull it off too. I am hoping the super glossy topcoat will allow cleaning up any errors I make with acrylics easier. Decals have always been so challenging for me. I have lots of trepidation in their application. I ditched the shoulder decals for the 1:144 KOG I built recently and brush painted them which I think was more satisfying and I felt more in control of the outcome.
  13. @electric indigo yeah it does feel good to finish up a MH except for laying down that decal on an extremely wonky surface with wrap around that’s a 45° angle. It didn’t conform to the curved edge and raised surface in a good way so I’m scrapping it. Time to bust my chops brush painting the tiny mermaid logo. The Deer Stalker leg looks beautiful! Very excited to see this one come together. @Big s yeah the polycap is very shallow and the ball that needs to go in it just sits in it, there is no snap into happening. Very weird. @Thom Thanks so much. Hope when I get a better photo in some natural light that the shimmering paint job comes through better. Again it’s so hard to capture it with my limited photo capabilities. Lol
  14. @pengbuzz I wish you and your better half all the best. Hope to see you around here again soon. ♥️ Here is a quick family portrait before hitting the hay. 💤 Just need to add the mermaid decal and a few brush painted gold emblems and this build is cooked. I’ll grab a better photo in daylight once all the loose ends are tied up. *note to anyone building this… there is no way to attach the head to the polycap. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? I vividly remember the same issue happened with the Prominence build “yellow MH in the pic”. I decided to add a brass rod and some super glue to make it work. Kind of annoying but there isn’t much movement there anyways so it’s whatever.
  15. 😳wow! That’s amazing!
  16. Gloss it up! I’m on the final stretch. Lots a small details to dial in and after panel lining I will put a flat finish on the frame parts. Hope to finish this up this 1:144 Neptune in the next couple days. My masking wasn’t a total fail which was nice.
  17. Always great to see updates on your project. What a treat! 👍
  18. Thanks for the link. That’s a great deal. 👍
  19. It’s paint day so finally get my lazy butt cleaning out the spray booth and laying down some fresh paper. No more dust. Fingers crossed.
  20. Thanks for the insight. I’m a sucker for the BFG’s hence my obsession with FSS. I am still looking for a fair priced Blassty kit like the fantastic build you had posted awhile back. Yet again, another series I had never heard of. Lol
  21. That looks great so far. I’m not familiar with the DeerStalker but I’m diggin that design. I’ll have to look it up.
  22. I tried a few different combos of items in my private warehouse for shipping to see what the max can be for their cheapest method and it’s still looking like $$$. I can wait on shipping for now when looking at my stash and hope the tariff nonsense changes soon.
  23. @SteveTheFish @Big s The Plamax Bellvine is currently available. Got it in my private warehouse HLJ. Also here is a link to an outstanding brush painted build of it via HJweb https://hjweb.jp/article/2415729/
