Came here to post the same thing. I'm in the same boat; already own both (two of each).

To buy another for a different pearlescent paint scheme, especially during these times...

I missed this...  colors are weird and not knowing exactly what pictures you've seen it's hard to say if they're accurate or not (that's a really vague question with a lot of personal variables to really try to answer.) In general, t definitely isn't a hot, vibrant red or orange but they aren't necessarily "dull" either... just like the blue on the regular destiny is. It's definitely not brown or even a shade of but it'd be more towards that end being darker than the vibrant, more neon-ish orange I think you're looking for.

"How is the overall paint?" - Another very vague question... are you talking like terms of application and finish or is this particular to the color tone/saturation again?

@Kuma Style Thanks so much for your time in answering this, Kuma! You pretty much nailed my concerns with your first paragraph there.

Just for clarity, my question there about overall paint was referring to the overall quality/paint job. It's somewhat of a subjective question— in your experience with the MBs, would you consider the quality to be on par or above some you've seen? It sounds like it's on par with the others.

Thanks again, man! I appreciate your attention to detail in the format of the questions in order to provide the most relevant answers.

Do you own the Destiny? Because it's just a repaint of it. What in particular are you looking for?

I don't own the Destiny and I'm not really looking for anything in particular. The biggest thing that stands out to me with the Heine is actually the repaint (colors). My fav color is that red/orange combination, like a fire red.

I've read mixed reviews about the overall vibrancy of the colors and how they differ from what you see on a screen as opposed to real life; references to things more brown than orange/red.

So I guess my concern is exactly that I suppose-- how is the overall paint on this one?

    https://www.hlj.com/metal-build-arbalest-ver-iv-bann17738 ARBALEST for 19950

    https://www.hlj.com/metal-build-laevatein-ver-iv-bann17778 LAEVATEIN re-issue version for 17100

What happened with bluefin? Did they cancel preorders? I never received a notification :/

Curious about this myself. I haven't received any type of notification and order still says processing. @BluefinBrands are you guys being affected by these recent allocation changes?

If your order status is still open then you're fine. We have already sent out the e-mails and updated all order statusses. It can take a while for all mail services to properly receive the e-mails, hence the 1 hour period we indicated.

Well, that's certainly reassuring. Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry for the supply issues with these. It's a major bummer to deal with on both sides. :(

  8. Uh oh, it's lookin' like some bad news for some EVA 01 preorders through @Otaku Square.

Here's an email I just received a few minutes ago:

    Quote

    Hello <name>,
A little while ago you placed an order with us for either EVA-01 or EVA-02. Back then, we accepted pre-orders for a considerably longer amount of time than most retailers. The reason we accepted these pre-orders is because we were confident that we were going to be able to deliver on all of them, and had our trust placed in a well established business relation with one of our suppliers.

Last week we received a troubling news from this supplier that a large batch of EVA-01 pre-orders had been cancelled by the manufacturer, and that they would in fact not be able to deliver. As you can probably understand this is a bit of a blow for us, going from the fact that we went around on multiple social networks and messaging boards to re-assure our customers that pre-ordering with us is a safe transaction. Hence why we spent last week contacting multiple other suppliers in an attempt to source the cancelled products from another supplier, before unfortunately having to write this e-mail.

Does this e-mail mean my order is cancelled?
No, it does not. We are sending out this e-mail because we had the displeasure to observe on of our competing stores undergo the same fate, and handling it rather poorly. Orders were being cancelled left and right and there was little to no communication to their customers. Where they had reached out on a message board to secure the sale, it now remained quiet.

Otaku Square is a company that is not only passionate about Japanese pop-culture but we are also passionate in delivering a good experience to all our customers, even in the event that we have to cancel orders of a much wanted product. It is for this reason that after this e-mail we will be monitoring social media and messaging boards, and will be answering to any questions directed at us (that we are aware of.)

Is my EVA-02 pre-order in danger?
As far as we are aware, no. Immediately after receiving the news about EVA-01 we contacted our supplying party, and inquired about our EVA-02 reservations. We have been informed that these reservations are covered and should be safe.

    So, what about my order?
After this e-mail goes out, secondary e-mails will be sent out to all customers that we unfortunately have to cancel their orders for. You can expect this e-mail within 1 hour after this one. If you are uncertain after one hour and have not received an e-mail, you can log in at otakusquare.com and view your order status. If you did not create an account, please forward your order confirmation to service@otakusquare.com and our customer service will get back to you within 24 hours.

Our apologies for the inconvenience caused by any cancellations that may follow. Any customer that has their order cancelled can expect a full refund to be issued within 5 working days.

    Best regards,

    Customer service

It hasn't been an hour yet since I received this email so I'm not sure if I'm one of those affected. As of writing this, my order status are still open. I guess we'll see.
