I don't think it'll be released in Blu-Ray or HD-DVD anytime soon. I think they'll wait until any of those formats gets enough momentum, and until the series is all out in regular DVDs to issue the whole thing again (including Ai Oboeteimasuka, Mac 7, etc) in high-def... The reissues will not end until February with the Flashback DVD. If the series starts in or so January, I believe that the first DVD of Mac F will be released around March / April.

Hmm... good point. Although the one used in VF-X2 also has blue stripes if I remember correctly, which makes sense considering it's a stealth fighter. Right, and the paint schemes are bound to change. In one of the first Newtypes to feature Macross 7, they showed a comparison of the VF-1J and the VF-17D. It looked like the 17 was going to be the main fighter... and it was all black with white detailing and an inverted color UN Spacy logo.

Apparently, there will be a rerun of Macross on japanese TV... why they'd put Macross 7 before Macross beats me. In the Official Site there is another news bit that I can't understand... something related to Macross 7 and MBS...

I think the 1st box of Mac 7 has been already released ... anybody dared ($$$) to get it?

I've been out of the loop for awhile... What is so special about this DYRL box (other than HD remaster)? Do we know what the bonus features are? I'm more than willing to drop $80 for this set (shipped), but I just want to know what I'm buying. According to this: http://product.bandaivisual.co.jp/web_serv...em_no=BCBA-3170 ... this box set has a disc with the HD remaster, another with the "original release version", a 3rd disc with TV ads and the movies used in the Sega Saturn game (that's what I can translate) On another note, how come the only "news" we've had are related to the Robotech movie and NO MACROSS F VIDEO ????????? Indeed an October release is very unlikely...
