Hi-Metal R

Good summary based on the way I heard. It's actually near the beginning of the video.
Based on this and the tease earlier this year, I think the next preorder will be Tomahawk. And I have hope that we may see a VT-1 later this year!

Looking forward to seeing what you accomplish, when you have the time. Did you ever finish your TV VF-1A Max?

Agreed. We're gradually seeing releases of things in the initial tease (destroids currently) so I think it's just a matter of time. That said, I wonder if Bandai is counting on the strong demand for those and intentionally holding off until later in the line.
I'd love it if they'd at least tease a few more yet-unseen designs soon, like the remaining SDFM VF-1 variants.

Is that video above giving us the first look at the box art for the Spartan, or have we already seen that before somewhere?
Either way, I'm noticing that there's no clear window on the box for the actual toy to show through, as on most of the other HMRs. I wonder if that will be true of all the destroids.

Hear, hear! I'd go for that.

Got the email confirmation that NY shipped my Milia.
Now to preorder a Defender...

It's exciting to see Milia finally as a reality! I agree that the box art looks great, and am glad they are apparently including an outer box as well. I guess that's normal for web exclusives?
My Milia preorder is with NY. Not having much experience with them, do they typically give email notification when things ship?

That Defender looks really nice! (A bit surprised they would announce it before Tomahawk, but whatever.)
I'm with jenius, though - as much as I like the destroids, I do hope more VF-1 releases are in the pipeline soon, especially a VF-1D or VT-1. I'm thinking that after 4 VF-1s in a row, they just wanted to switch over to destroids for a bit.

Awesome, indeed. I'm already really impressed with whoever did that custom. Where did you find those photos, sh9000?
The VF-1D is probably my most-wanted HMR of all the ones Bandai hasn't released yet.

Looking good, sh9000.
It appears you decided to use the arms and legs from the Max 1J after all?

Me too. I was thinking it would give me the option to combine the armor with the Hikaru 1J I already have. And the dark blue 1A is a really cool variant, I think.
As far as future releases, would it be more likely that Bandai would produce something they have already teased before something they haven't?

That's awesome! What do we have here? Airwolf arm, VF-1S head (in Jetfire visor guise), Dukes of hazard left arm, Heman sword (?), Optimus Prime body, Back to the Future license plate, Ghost Busters left lower leg and foot, and The A Team van. Oh, and all of it looks like Voltron!
I think it's fantastic!
Wow, so much '80s goodness going on there! Those were the days. Cool mashup... My brother in law would love that on a shirt.

Armored CF 1A would be sweet. I have been wanting to get an armored VF-1, but missed the first one and can't find it for a reasonable price anywhere. I'm really hoping Bandai will end up releasing the armored 1A they teased a couple of months ago, which also resembles the Cavaliers to an extent.

If you might be interested in getting rid of any TV pilots, PM me. I'd be especially interested in Hikaru.
By the way, Spartan's back up on HLJ:

I think they also made it a point for the color of the circle on the FAST pack to match the color of the heat shield in battroid for the DYRL styles. Of course, you could also say the black circle on all of skull squadron would mimic the fighter tail fin black color on all. For me: Hikaru = red accents.

Finally bought a Hi-Metal Super Parts set. Now with the stickers I don't have to paint the Fast Pack skull area for my custom DYRL VF-1A Max and Kakizaki, only have to paint the heatshields.
Did you get the one that showed up on Mandarake today? Hope it comes with stickers unused. I got one from there last month and the Hikaru skull stickers were already applied.
Speaking of skull areas, there are these white skull-only stickers available that might be helpful for customization:

Either one of those I'd really like to see. I'm kinda doubtful Bandai would do it at this point, since they've already released most of the relevant TV models that would theoretically use them. If you could pull off the arm sculpting, that'd be impressive. How would you potentially do that?

Somehow I suspect this would be more likely, due to economies of scale. The 1D also has a different chest plate as well, I believe, which adds further complications.

While I feel the same about TV vs DYRL, it seems to me that they are mainly just wanting to move ahead with releasing the things they originally teased a while back, which just happen to be mostly DYRL, like VT-1 and VE-1.
