  1. Yeah, it's one of the better Godzilla figures I have. It's pretty hefty compared to most others because of the long tail and overall bulk of the design. Seems a little bit better made too but it is typical SHMA construction. I really like it and am very happy with my purchase.
  2. The Godzilla is Monsterarts and I did not get from TRU. The "Zilla food", as in the Pacific Rim figures are from TRU and they are Robot Damashii branded figures, so pretty close.
  3. Oh, but you must! I've actually had some 1/48 stuff in storage for years, untouched. I recently got some more 1/48s and opened them and I really think they are my favorite VF-1s. They have a great presence, are the 1st perfect transformation VF-1s (and the process is very simple and effective), have a lot of features unseen on any other releases and there are all those awesome paint schemes! You need at least one!
  4. OK fine, bring on the preorders! I'm gonna order 20!
  5. Haha If anything, I would get one of these just to have. It looks like it only holds valks in one position and it would look silly to have a whole collection in the exact same way.
  6. Haha, using your lunch money for Valks...a true fanatic! You are at the right place indeed. As for why these things are so expensive? Because people like us want them, they are out of print and limited. Simple economics. Macross toys are very niche in the whole scheme of things, very difficult to make good toys of so they are expensive and low volume. In this game, it's best be be there and be ready to preorder the items you want because if you don't, they are likely to sell out fast and the price could go up almost immediately. You might not think you want the VF-0S or dip into the HMR line now but you eventually will and by then, get ready for some sticker shock. So basically, buy them now while you can! Hows that for enabling?

Oh crap, these people are really intent on decimating my wallet aren't they?
  8. Understandable. If your focus is on getting the best Valks, the Yamato V2 and Arcadia releases are the best VF-1s ever made. And nice you hear you are a fellow M&M fan. My favorites! The thing with HMR is it seems to be heading towards a very complete line that includes enemy mecha, destroids, effects and hopefully more supporting parts. They other thing is, despite their size, they are very good quality with lots of detail, especially the non transforming mechs. Way better than the Toynami figures you bought. But again, understandable as a new collector. It took a while for me to be convinced to buy anything in the HMR line when there are so many options including the unbeatable 1/60 Valks. Problem is, once I got one HMR, I was hooked and had to have them all and now it's one of my favorite toy lines of all time. Anyways, you can't go wrong as long as you're happy with what you get and have fun with it. Enjoy!
  9. Damn! That's some way to start a collection as a poor grad student! I hope you aren't as poor as you let on because that would be some odd but understandable priorities. Anyways, welcome and you can be sure we will do nothing but feed your addiction. You should really look into the Hi-Metal R line as it's probably the most playable and collectible line we've ever seen for Macross.
  10. Got some Zilla food as part of a sympathy TRU purchase over the weekend.
  11. Pretty cool but not very versatile.

It's not so much that I like their discount system but being one of the cheapest places to get preorders and a little more off on top is hardly something to complain about. I'm glad you are able to find consistently lower prices elsewhere that no one else can find. You should keep those sources secret, lol!

True that! My statement still stands, especially with the "to begin with" part to cover your point. I'm one of the ring of death victims on that last round for the 31S. To be fair, they seem to be reopening orders close to release dates at original price and only jacking up later after release. Hope I can grab a 31A and 31S with their discount still but I'm not complaining if I can't.

The NY discount is a joke when it saves someone $5 but it's an outrage when they ask for $3 extra to ship something. This is all after the fact that they already charge less than any other shop to begin with.

  17. Thanks! Doesn't seem worth it.

Looks like someone is trying to give @ChaoticYeti a run for his money at high end Valk stands. Anyone have info on the stands used here?
  19. I just did...seems like a model kit that needs to be painted? Hopefully, someone has more info. If its transformable or you have to choose which mode to make, etc.

The latest 31A pics are looking really good. Makes me wish I ordered 5-6 of them, lol.
  21. Nice book! I won't invest in CGC but they are definitely impressive to have.
  22. Yeah, 1/48s had some incredible paint schemes. Weathered ones are really cool. Yeah, they are my favorite too with the same complaint about the hands. They don't bother me too much though. It would probably be easy for someone to model some huh?

Kit looks good! In this case, I waited too long and missed the NY preorders for the 31A but I'd gladly trade my preorders from other shops to go with NY. if something like that ever happened and they didn't refund me, I would just have my credit card company handle it and if NY kills my account in retaliation, oh well to a good run. I could always open a new account with a different email and address if I really wanted to but yeah, that would also suck to have to do.
