After Watching Macross Delta movie, Delta movie officially my 2nd favorite Macross movie with Frontier 2nd movie are 1st.
Here Pros and Cons
Pros
- The dogfight scene are to me best in entire Macross franchise especially Messer vs Keith and final battle. I even says its even better than Frontier movie dogfight scene.(Alto do not want to fight against Brera and mostly try avoid him)(Hell Messer won and die even more sad and awesome) and more action
- Movie VF new equipment are awesome especially Armored Pack, VF-31 ghost booster and Mirage Draken 3. To me its even better than Tornado pack. Also more Macross ship action
- Mirage and ayate are more likable than Series version. Also Mirage in Movie are more skilled and badass than Series version
-Music are even more awesome series version.
- Highlight that NUNS are actually more heroic competent , less trigger happy on using illegal WMD and less corrupt(they still perform illegal operation on stealing Star Singer DNA) as they manage to end Windemere war in shorter time and lesser casualty WITHOUT using WMD.
- No boring filer .
-Roid in movie are better villain and just as sympathetic as he try to save his race dying from their short lifespan but doing it in wrong way.
Con
-Pacing a bit too fast
- Winderemere role get cut short with Keith and Bogue are main role.
- Technically improve rehash like Frontier Movie.
- No new VF
Overall its great Macross movie. The reason Frontier 2nd movie are still my most fav Macross movie are its 2nd half story of Frontier are better than series version, more original story,better song(by close margin). better space battle and Macross action than Delta movie and have actual new VF which become 3rd most fav VF, YF-29 Durandal

Problem that their tech level are most likely outdated tech as they left Earth in year 2012.
But you were right as NUNS seriously need to reform as so many rogue element happen since Macross Plus.

My main theory was that their rune is main reason their lifespan short. Also most likely protoculture try to create a race can link mind using rune while enhanced their spatial awareness. However they found out the thing that make Widermere powerful also shorten lifespan thus abandon experiment. Other words, Windermere are failed experiment. I wonder if my theory true and Windermere found out about it, are they willing to abandon their rune power to increase lifespan or not. Also RIP Cassim. Your are awesome

Be patients LOTS of you, Even Frontier have that phase in ep 18-22, so BE PATIENT BEFORE YOU JUMP THE GUN. At least we get to see origin of Walkure instead of left it unknown.

Im glad and commented that EVEN Aerial Knight ADMIT that what they did in war is very wrong, cowardly and downright dirty by using Vars and not very righteous . That shows that Windermere and Aerial Knight ARE NOT Self righteous delusional hypocrite

At the risk of pointing out an inconvenient fact, the show actually explicitly supports our contention that Captain Ernest Johnson is absolutely terrible at his job.
We had, in the previous episode, a scene where Mr. Berger from Epsilon tells King Gramia about Johnson's reputation... that's he's known far and wide as the commander who loses 100 out of 100 battles.
You don't get a reputation of "the man with a 100% failure rate" by being good at your job!
Its actually mistranslated from gg fansub as i read from forum that Ernest Johnson actually only lost 8 battle out of 100 space battle.

ou're drawing an awful lot of conclusions based on information that isn't actually in the episode.
Based on this episode and the previous one, Major Valan and the New UN Spacy have been put in an extraordinarily difficult position thanks to the meddling of Kaos's incompetent and incredibly naive management. They proposed a method for preventing King Gramia from completing his plan to enslave the entire Brisingr cluster with minimal collateral damage, which even Kaos reluctantly admitted was the best option. Lady M poked her oar in and somehow forced the NUNS to agree to only detonate the warhead if the counterattack on Al Shahal failed, no doubt delaying the evacuation of the citizens as a result. As a result, Ragna's most powerful warship and sole countermeasure for the song of the wind ended up being drawn out of position, clearing the way for Windermere's invasion of Ragna. It was only a stroke of incredible luck that they managed to lightly damage the song shrine so that the battle wasn't long over by the time they reached Ragna again, by which point the NUNS had been forced to detonate the warhead to prevent Windermere's forces from seizing the ruins. Valan and the NUNS acted in good faith and followed precisely the plan they agreed to. It looks like they even managed to take out a good-sized chunk of the Windermerean fleet with the warhead. He doesn't indicate that they knew of that structure's existence previously, or that it was their plan to uncover it all along. He just expresses the scientists had apparently mentioned the possibility that something like that might happen, collects intelligence, and orders a retreat to get the civilians out of harm's way.
Kaos, on the other hand, endangered civilians by delaying the evacuation, damn near handed the planet to Gramia on a silver platter by naively running to confront him at Al Shahal, and then spent almost the entire battle for Ragna sitting around with their thumbs up their asses letting Heinz Var everyone, then ordered a retreat.
If you're looking for which group clearly showed more concern for the wellbeing of Ragna... it ain't Kaos.
Did you even watch same episode.He wasn't aiming to kill Gramia or destroy Sigur Valens. He was aiming to see the ruins awaken, so he could get the data he wanted. He said that things were happening as his scientists had predicted, so he probably knew the explosion wasn't gonna destroy Sigur Valens anyway. Note how he ran away the moment he got his precious data. He also doesn't give a single frakk that he killed a lot of his own NUNS soldiers with that explotion. Arad even tell Valan evacuation is not finished yet and Vlalan essentially says thats your business and says F""" off and does not even show he cared on civilian in Ragna. A;so if he cared civilian, He should Not Detonate bomb until evacuation finished and waned his soldier about bomb denotation and does not show any remorse after killing civilian and his own allies. What makes you think that Valan care about civilian as he just wanted his precious data, and the moment he got it, he ran away without looking back. That's unquestionable evil right there. He mentioned that scientist predicted that as if He knew this would happen.Also Ernest show very competent as he immediately shot laser on windemere ship to damage ruin render them unable to use Wind song for a while and his ambush tactic on Gramia that killed Gramia and damage Protoculture ship which caused delay of Windermere plan I look forward to see you eat your own word and crow feather if Valan turn out to be evil and villain

I'm not saying he's necessarily a good guy... just that he's literally the only halfway competent soldier we've seen on the protagonist side so far. Unless, of course, you want to take the view that "good is not necessarily nice".
Even if Valan's bomb made it worse, if they'd detonated on time like the military wanted to do they would've had the better part of a day to go back and blow the crap out of the extra part of the ruins that were hiding in super dimension space in an environment free of civilian casualties or friendly fire accidents. He showed a much more level head than Captain Johnson in that he didn't throw the lives of his troops away, kept his forces protecting the emigrant ship, and collected as much data on the enemy as he could before being forced to flee. He may not be the nicest man in the galaxy, but he is an effective and pragmatic soldier, which is far, FAR more than can be said for anyone at Kaos.
Any way you shake it, our heroes in Delta Platoon are "lawful stupid" and their bungling seems to actually end up helping Windermere
I CANT Believe you still painted Valan as good and competent AFTER what he had done. The Valan decision to detonate the ruins ticked me off for many reasons, first off the ruins absorbed the energy and disappeared and the next thing we know some Heritage of Protoculture emerges from sub-space. As it turns out, the Valan were aware of it since their scientists already had information on it. So at the end of the day, it wasn’t so much about preventing Windermere from gaining using/control of the ruins, but rather to obtain data regarding the Heritage of Protoculture- at the price of many lives.

Um... you're misplacing the blame here.
Did you forget that the plan Major Valan relayed, as voiced in the previous episode, was to blow up the ruins with a thermonuclear reaction warhead before Windermere's forces arrived? If Lady M hadn't poked her oar in and gotten the NUNS to delay the detonation until after the Kaos counterattack on Al Shahal that ended up playing right into King Gramia's hands, the civilian evacuation probably would've been finished in a timely fashion instead of waiting until the last damn second and the detonation would've been done with no friendly forces in the blast zone. Because of Lady M, they delayed the blast and almost certainly slowed the evacuation down... leaving them in the unenviable position of having to detonate before the evacuation was finished and with their own forces nearby.
All that loss of life? That's on Lady M and Kaos.
Of course, if it hadn't been for that barrier on the Sigur Valens, Major Valan would've just won the entire war outright with a single bomb... he managed to catch the entire Windermere fleet in the blast. He missed one-shotting the enemy by a matter of a few seconds.
Once again i disagree with you and completely puzzled WHY you keep picture Valan a real good guy
Valan actually makes things worse no matter bomb denote earlier or not as it exposed the ruin true form as it allows Windermere use its function to full potential without excavating which take more time.Also the way he says as if he knew this would happen as subs mention he says about scientist predicted that and even have gall to massacred civilian and his own allies to exposed ruin and order retreat AFTER gathering data of the ruin instead of protecting planet to the last just show that he has evil hidden agenda and possibly one of the third party conspirator. I think Lady M knew that denoate the ruin will expose its true form and try to prevent it to happen. I wonder what reason you THINK Valan is good guy as he easily willing to civilian and his own allies for his own agenda?

I completely disagree with you about NUNS officer
It really says something that a sinister-looking soldier we're clearly supposed to dislike achieved more concrete tactical gains in five minutes than Kaos did in twelve episodes
I dont know why you keep supporting him as this episode reveals the NUG representative and his lot are scum who simply blew up the ruins to collect data and left their own men to die, along with plenty civilians and didn't care about the damage to the planet. They just left everybody to rot when they got their data on exposed ruin. To me i says he most likely one of the corrupt officer who worked with third party conspirator.

Windermere won again. Event though they finally got hit, they still achieved their objective. I know we're supposed to hate weasel faced NUNS officer, but at this point he's still my favorite commander. Seems to be the only one with a plan/agenda that will beat Windermere.
I think that NUNS officer are one of the third party conspirator. I heard one of his dialog shows that he knew whats behind ruin and order his troops immediately scan the ruin and order his troop leave planet ASAP as if he knew this would happen. I found him VERY fishy and I do not know why you support that officer
Also there lost in Windermere side as their ship command center has been badly damaged and Heintz severely weaken and with the King death. I think it take a while to Windermere to fix their ship to activate its function

EPICCCC!!!!!!This most epic dogfight ever and Finally Hayate become next Shinigami. Messer Going to be proud of you Hayate as he surpass you by defeating White Knight Keith. I hope he got scar on his face Also epic Macross maneuver and his Macross cannon 11/10. Also with damage ship. I think Windermere plan has been thwarted for now
By the way I knew there third party/conspiracy going on as that shady NUNS officer Happy to see ruin true form and gather data from ruin and left the planet immediately I think there something fishy going on.

Synopsis
2 years after war between NUNS and Kingdom of Wind, humanity successfully spread entire Milky Way galaxy. NUNS and other colonist state has undergo major revision and reform the government to not only gives colony more independent power, it helps strengthen core world and colony relation to more united and more equal rights. One days a NUNS fleet found ancient Protoculture gateway during exploring outer rim of galaxy. After researching and repair the gate, the data shows that this Gateway are new space folding tech that help to increase speed of the ship and shorten traveling time during folding(like Trans warp conduit in star trek) and this gateway led directly to Andromeda galaxy. Data shows that protoculture use create the gate way to explore and colonize Andromeda Galaxy but however Protoculture was fallen before they fully explore the Andromeda galaxyWith that revelation, NUNS , the colonist, and other allied race(like Zentradi and Vajra) band together their resources and technology to create the largest and most advanced macros exploration/colony fleet. Its mission to explore Andromeda Galaxy and make contact with any advanced race. To boldly go where no children of protoculture has gone before

Andromeda gateway
At the end of Protoculture era, they create gateway to Andromeda galaxy to explore and colonize new galaxy in desperation to preserve their remaining civilization. After gateway successfully build and function, Protoculture decided to explore new galaxy and plan to launch colonization program in new galaxy. However its too late as Protoculture finally collapse and fallen before program fully realize and they force to close down gateway and partially dismantle(with gate only activate when their children fully united) while some of Protoculture people left behind in Andromeda galaxy. By the time Protoculture fallen, only 0.1% of Andromeda Galaxy has explored and documented.
Andromeda galaxy
The closet neighboring galaxy to Milky Way galaxy, Andromeda Galaxy are 2x bigger than Milky way galaxy. The galaxy are still largely unknown as only 0.1% of Andromeda Galaxy has explored and documented by the time of Protoculture fallen
