Never saw the movie but I lol'ed at evil space cloud! And it's sad that these newbie director guys fail upward, wasting tons of money and everybody else's time. At least I didn't spend anything on this, last X-Men movie I saw in theatres was Days of Future Past. I dodged major disappointment when I decided not to watch Apocalypse.
Monopoly accusations vs Disney aside, I'm really happy that the X-Men movie rights are back under Marvel. I read some X-Men (back in college), and the X-Men adaptations, while some aspects are competent (casting for instance), just doesn't excite me like the MCU does. Or maybe it's just a curse, me having read more source material from X-Men than Avengers/Thor/GOTG etc. But I'm hoping that Marvel Studios can bring us a better adaptation.

Is KanColle any good storywise? Those kinds of anime haven't really appealed to me in the past.

>> Titan still turns a modest profit on the comic because of all the corners they cut making it.
Looks like they made some profit enough to hire Brenden Fletcher to write a story (who looks more legit than the other unknown RT comic writers to me). Sadly I don't think they're gonna stop doing the comics in the foreseeable future.
QuoteEvent Horizon (3 of 4)! Robotech’s epic event approaches its climax, as classic characters clash and fall! With an extra story by Brenden Fletcher (Isola, Motorcrush) and artist Sarah Stone (Netflix’s Castlevania)!

Now I definitely call BS on whatever was actually announced this year regarding licensing. HG really has just garbage comic books for the near future.
I don't know how they keep on producing those comic books. Even comic books that seem to be popular (and I bet sell more) get cancelled all the time. How is this financially feasible for them?

The final volume of LOGH light novel will release on November 19. Frankly I've only bought the first 2 novels in print. One reason I haven't continued is I haven't finished the 2nd novel yet, and I can't find it when I want to read it! I put it somewhere not readily accessible or visible to me.
So if I finally buy the rest it'll probably be as ebooks on Kindle, so I won't forget where it is and I won't also have space problems. The 2nd reason is that it isn't as exciting as watching watching the original anime. I actually am more excited for the Crest of the Stars light novels. I've seen the anime, and I've also read the online translations before. I don't know why, but it reads better and I don't seem to tire of it (except for the Abh language parts). The first 2 volumes are out, will buy the 2nd one on Kindle soon.

To date I'm not sure that anyone has gone to jail regarding the Panama Papers.
Seems like the person who has payed the most for this was one of the journalists who helped expose it and was subsequently murdered:
I don't think anyone has gone to jail. It's probably too hard to prove/prosecute, especially with the names involved. What do I know of the finance world anyways

Another delay to the Mikimoto Art Book....
Thank you for using Amazon.co.jp.
This is to inform you that the scheduled delivery date has been changed due to changes in the release date of the following products reserved by customers. Mikimoto Haruhiko " Mikimoto
Haruhiko Macross Art Book"
Expected delivery date: 2020-02-03-2020-02-06 Mikimoto
Looks like the budget I reserved for this book will be going somewhere else this year.

I am excited for Moon Knight, it's the only TPBs I've been actively collecting from Marvel. Though I do have some reservations how 'crazy' they will go.

We keep getting Transformers movies, why not Matrix 4?
Not really that excited for this, will wait for reviews before I watch. And that's if I find the time...

Aquamarine releases the first of their LOGH kits, a beautiful rendition of the Brunhild.
Slightly too small for 4.800 Yen, but at least it's bigger than the GKs in that price range.
Isn't the top a little too flat?

I'm not sure but somehow it looks like it's the same one I posted a few post ago from the main Kawamori Expo site:
https://kawamoriexpo.jp/s/ex01/page/goods?ima=4358
As per your link, it has the same title: 【受注販売】河森正治EXPO 解態新書
Now the question is, does this need the PO purchase code? If it does, no problem, there's a Eureka 7 artbook coming out anyway. But if it doesn't....RIP wallet?
(Assuming I can go through the hoops associated with a successful purchase of this expo book...)

Guys who can read Japanese, is this another EXPO book? This seems to be a general release. Unfortunately Satelight doesn't ship to overseas locations

To those who ordered P-Bandai Maganacs (Rashid et al customs), have yours shipped? Curious since it's almost August in a few days.
I got my shipping notice. I was being impatient lol

Lol didn't buy that 36-set. Got the 2 customs because I didn't want to regret not buying in a few months like what happened with the PBandai Leos.

The Blade movies were good for their time, I wonder how they will make this interesting considering it will probably not be R-rated.

I don't know anything about Shang-chi but I am excited for this. I want to be surprised like I was when I watched GOTG, when I knew zero about the Guardians.

‘Balikbayan Box’ it, my dear good sir.
Eh but I want to take it with to save on shipping costs

Rearranging the contents and flattening the box is a good idea, I'll keep this in mind.

Ok, thanks for the info! I think it's the only big kit I really want to buy in Japan. (for now..)

The last time I was in Japan my luggage was smaller--the stuff I bought wasn't that heavy but took up a lot of space. So I bought bigger check-in luggage and of course I'd look to fit in the biggest kit I can lol

To anyone who got the new MG Alex, will it fit neatly into a 30kg suitcase? I'm thinking of buying in Japan if ever I get some funds for a trip next year. (Assuming it's still available of course.)

Aldnoah.Zero is rapidly shaping up to be one of the worst-written original mecha anime properties I've seen in recent years.
How did this hot mess manage to last 24 episodes without being cancelled? I'm four episodes in and the setting makes basically no sense. How did Mars evolve a strict feudal society rife with fantastic racism when it's only been colonized for thirty years? How did the Martian colonists reverse engineer enough technology to put them centuries ahead of Earth in an even shorter span of time? Why is a high school student with an at-best moderate grasp of science consistently more effective than the most highly trained soldiers despite having an old training mecha instead of a state-of-the-art military machine? There are plot holes big enough to hide a planet in all throughout this series.
Hide contents Hide contentsThe threat posed by the Martian Kataphrakts the Orbital Knights are using is massively oversold. Sure, they have incredible abilities, but absolutely nobody except Inaho seems to be willing or able to look past those capabilities to consider how they do those things and what the implications are. Nobody noticed the big freaking camera drones that initial Kataphrakt was using to see until Inaho pointed them out? How d'you miss something apparently the size of a minivan hovering at low altitude? One would be hard enough to overlook, never mind half a dozen. This entire series is only possible because everyone in it is a drooling moron.
Nowhere is that conclusion more obvious than the episode I just watched, where the Martian Kataphrakt of the week is literally just a robot with a plasma sword that's used as a way to deflect incoming fire. Despite watching the enemy Kataphrakt repeatedly detonate high explosive rounds in midair with the heat of its blade, NOBODY except Inaho has the brains to try different types of ammunition to see if something that isn't explosive fares better... or simply hitting him from the side that isn't holding the sword.
That's right, this antagonist is only a threat because nobody thought to attack him from the two sides he wasn't covering with the only weapon he has.
Irony of ironies, Inaho probably would've had even more success if he'd just dropped the heavy shipping containers he used to smack the enemy Kataphrakt with on it from the top of the crane... instead of blinding its entire left side he could've taken its entire bloody head off.
For me it had interesting characters and mecha. I never thought about it too seriously because the feudal society + mechs was already fantastical to begin with. With brain turned off I enjoyed the show (but not saying it was that good). That said I have KG Sleipner kit that I bought 3 years ago and still haven't got to building it lol. Frankly I don't even know where to put it--my finished Scopedog is still also in the box. Damn these space problems T_T

Recently finished Crest of the Stars vol 1. It was my first digital light novel purchase, thanks to J-Novel Club. It's a great complement for those who have seen the anime, though I'm not sure for new readers. Although to be honest, I was able to finish this much faster than the Legend of Galactic Heroes novel. Hopefully J-Novel Club will be able to complete both Crest and Banner content--and looking forward to the physical book releases next year. And I remember reading fan translations of stuff after Banner of the Stars III, so I hope these are also eventually officially translated as well.

Then the camera panned over to the audience and it was Shoji Kawamori! After a short chat, they announced the name of the new title -‘Gekijouban Macross Delta : Zettai Live! Then Shoji Kawamori held up his palm with his fingers stretched out – signaling 5. Then he added his light stick in the middle of this palm – a 6th member for Walkure! (Tenjin Hidetaka was also present)
I'm thinking hard....
Heinz will join Walkure!
j/k. It's a hilarious outcome I wonder what people's reactions would be if that happens.

I thought I was having a good day today and now I see this development. Aaargh.
I only wish that people just stop buying anything Robotech-related. Please, even if it looks good. You're putting money in the pockets of HG and Tatsunoko.

If the nuBSG ending was good it would have been a perfect SF series. They better have a plan, otherwise it's just gonna be a waste of IP and resources.
(I haven't seen the original though, and have no plans to see it.)
