  1. Same way i always do my chipping. By hand with a very fine liner brush. The finer the tip on the brush the better. Just stipple it on or lightly drag it across for long scratches.
  2. Quick update on Hannibal Labor. Not fully done but started on the chipping. A white Labor trudging through the jungles of south east asia isnt going to stay clean or white for long. After the chipping i will be putting a red clay looking pastel on it around the legs and where crew would climb.
  3. That looks excellent. Wonderful weathering. Looks like the salt method to me and he used a fine grain popcorn salt on it. I still have yet to try that one myself. Base color seems to be either tamiya dark yellow or a desert yellow. Im still waiting for someone else to use the optional head on it. Im still the only one so far. I also did the rare Daicon girl blue one.
  4. Working on a 1/72 Hannibal at the moment. Sweet little kit. I cant wait to really start the weathering.
  5. Thanks guys. Dont know what ill do next. Maybe a hellhound or hannibal.
  6. In DYRL the thrust ducts in the feet were 3 rectangles as seen in the hasegawa kits. In the TV show it had a more conventional afterburner flame holder ring looking detail. This kit has the ring detail. I was after the sheen look. This isnt a combat craft and im kind of happy with the shiny look. Everything else i have is so drab its nice to have a splash of color.
  7. Just please remember a model is NOT a toy. They arent made for durability or playability. Most of the time you build it , pose it and leave it. Even the Bandai VF-25s have a limit to how many times they can be transformed before breakage happens.
  8. Wow for someone who has been here less than a year you do come across quite crass and know it all. Why not let the mods and admins decide its their job. This is an anime forum dedicated to a TV show. Take it easy and look at the pics of what others have done. Its good he resurrected this thread honestly since the launch arm is getting near release. There have even been recent inquiries on starship modeler itself. This is making people aware of it without having to start a whole new thread.
  9. Well overall the Ostrich is done. Aside from the base but that can wait while i track down the image or someone stumbles upon it. The base will just get painted black and wait. The Vac formed canopy was a right pain but i feel i got it to work well enough. The kit also shows its age in having the TV style cone verniers. It also has TV style ducting in the feet. Weird. Wasnt going for perfection on this build at all. I just wanted to get a good Super ostrich in my collection without having to track down a hasegawa. I really like this kit and would love to get my hands on the others that Orange Collection did aside from the Elint seeker already in progress. They strike a nice balance with the on screen look and feel of the craft.
  10. Oh ill still finish it and get the base ready. I can just leave the model temp mounted until then.
  11. Well i think you did a good job. Could we get some pics against a light background in normal lighting? Be easier to see the details.
  12. Frisket film and airbrushing with a little brush work for line and details. Then sealed under many coats of future.
  13. Not to hijack but since this thread is about emblems and markings. Does anyone remember the "super Ostrich" emblem someone made a while back? Im looking for it to put on the base for my VT-1. It was a cartoony running ostrich with a red cape on it. I know its on the forums but my searches are coming up blank.
  14. Actually the masters are now in the hands of starship modeler and are currently being worked for reissue. Keep an eye out in the future for more news.
  15. If you want the Vamp pinup just ask John who did the decals forhis resin tomahawk. Th3e Vamp Emblem was included in the decal sheet
  16. Thanks man. Its ALLLLLLMOST done. Just have to add the verniers and put it on its base HOWEVER! I want to do something with the base other than the usual UN Spacey Kite. I could swear i saw a artwork of a cartoon style ostrich somewhere that had a red super cape on it. It was a joke on the Super Ostrich units. If anyone can find it id love to use that image on the base. Kind of a "unit patch " type of thing.
  17. Well i couldnt find my DYRL pilots from my weapons set so i just painted up the pilot that came with the kit. Not too bad. It doesnt have the big shoulder guards and such as it should but once the canopy is closed and decaled up it wont be too noticeable. Its more about having the correct colors where they should be overall.
  18. Thanks guys. I should have Hikaru painted tomorrow. i just need to find where my hase DYRL pilots went. Ill be painting up the male and female fighter pilots seperately. The female will of course be Millia.
  19. Here she is in seat waiting for Hikaru to get his lazy butt in gear. I also got the boosters mounted. The kit supplied parts werent suitable to me. So i made new ones out of a core of steel wire and styrene square stock.
  20. I have Minmay painted up. The TV suit is quite suitable for the helmeted version of her. You only see the helmet on her for a few seconds but i was able to get the general outline of her colors off it. I just have to add a red dot to the chest plate i painted on. Petar has some incredible sculpting skills. there are fine lines and wrinkles in the elbows and even seams on the suit. How he did that i have no idea.
  21. Thats looking really good. I gotta get back onto my Ozma soon. But im suck into a 1/32 flanker at the moment.
  22. Thanks. I have been a little short on time for alot of in depth work lately but i would like to get this one finished SOON.
  23. I remember that. Mainly on the road wheel suspension arms on the king tiger and panther. The are supposed to be there. Dunno when ill actually finish this. I took alot of stuff from my hobby room and stored it so i just have a few projects at hand instead of alot. I want to finish off a few things.
  24. Well i hate to burst your bubble but something that big in reality would have mold lines on its track they would be cast metal. Real tanks today have them. Im not dome weathering it yet either. I work in layers too remember. Theres yet another layer of mud and dirt to go .
  25. Giving my baneblade a little of the Premetheum treatment. not done yet but getting near.
