I do think its a tad better than the 30th anniversary version Arcadia put out a few years back but there is too much gold which makes it look tacky.. Considering I sold off my Arcadia 30th AE, I doubt I would get this one only to sell it off down the track also..

That's very cool! and wow 36 years between toys! I remember when I got my first VF-1 toy! Was insanity back then and the new toy will be pretty sweet!

The design does look a tad busy and I think they could have crafted the lasers a bit finer but overall I do like it.. My favourite of the 31 heads is still the A variant..

From the photos I've seen so far I kinda get the feeling they are a collection of left over pics that didn't get in the earlier VF-1 book releases.. But I'm not going to say no to another book of juicy eye candy!

I do indeed remember those Sig quotes! Ah yes the good old days! But I'm not so sure about a total upgrade at this stage.. my current collection plan has been to keep it more clean and simplified but the lure of a new build toy even if it's out of scale is exciting! I am very keen to see how Bandai's new 1:48 Valkyrie turns out but adding a whole new line does irk me a bit.. LOL @ spannerized! Good times, good times..

The more I look at it the more I'm really liking it! And considering the Hikaru 1J is my all time favourite Valkyrie makes me wonder if I should get three of them!! What you reckon Noel!?

Oh and I'm rather liking the rear landing gear in a more outward deployed position as apposed to the narrower set Yamato/Arcadia design..

Yes 20k is rather cheap for something of that scale but I agree I can't see it coming with any missiles accessories etc. Just a pilot and gunpod. And to be honest, I don't know weather I'd buy the supers /missiles set separately.. So yeah I'm guessing option 1..

The affordability factor aside, I just wouldn't be able to accommodate their larger size in my existing display cabinets.. especially if they are 27cm tall which is the maximum shelf spacing with the Klingsbo cabinets..

Hehe!! That's pretty much what my partner said when I opened mine yesterday! looks like a Xmas edition! but agreed, does look very Christmasy.. And that the head lasers are too chunky and look a little silly sticking out the top in fighter mode.. Also kinda agree with her on that. Still loving it and glad I got it.

Has there been any indication of other types to be released also or will the VF-1J be the only one? Would like to know what I'll be in for with this line.. as I've previously mentioned, I'm not super keen to start up another scale collection.. I guess it will ultimately depend on how good this actually is one released, then decide if it's worth continuing with.
