So these are RC Macross DX 1/48 VF-1’s or are we just getting off topic? :touche::hi:Haha

oh could you just imagine! a flying transforming Valkyrie! Think I'll take off in battroid mode and fly around a bit in fighter mode and land in gerwalk today! :D

Why'd you leave again? You used to have a massive collection. Then I remember you started talking more and more about model cars...

I did yes, But I thought it was starting to get excessive and far too exoensive. I also had a few things I needed to sort out in my life and selling off my collection helped fund certain things and I wanted to try other things that I was into way back in my early years for example RC.

Model cars had been a thing of mine since forever and I honestly thought continuing with that would be cheaper and satisfy me but I guess I was wrong. Yes I acknowledge that I made a mistake selling off absolutely everything instead of keeping some stuff but now that lesson has been learnt. Even just today transforming the DX 1:48's was so much fun and its actually exciting to have a few Valkyries again considering its been a life long (since 1982) passion and I know I shouldn't have let go of it.

    :)

Good to see you back on board! B))

Hopefully this VF-1J gets a re-issue down the road (I missed out on PO night), I like PO prices much more than the %30-%40 increased aftermarket prices.

yeah I paid the post release premium for this one.. and more for the Max too. <_<

Nice collection! I'm not into collecting cars/bikes for the sake of collecting them, but I do have a few that are near and dear. Seeing yours brings me back. And reminds me I need a few things.

    -I need a General Lee

-I've got that Mad Max Interceptor.:good:

-I absolutely need to get at least one JPS

-You've got some good bikes in there! I've got a couple of 998RS's , 999RS's , 990cc #12 Desmosedici, 996S and a 2005 GSXR1000 (which is one of the best race bikes I ever had). I got those Ducati's back when I was racing them and had minor factory support. Man, I miss the good ol days, but I wouldn't do it again.

My 1:1 scale 2005 Ducati 999R/RS (A bike). Started life as a 999R but I had support fro the WSB team so if you look close you can see some choice Corse stuff on there. Namely the 62mm exhaust, Corse tail section/seat and carbon/Kevlar fuel tank, 16.5" Marchesini forged mag wheels, mag triples, Corse radiator/oil cooler, close ratio trans and the motor was just slightly less wild than the WSBK stuff just because I couldn't afford to fire them in every ten seconds like the WSBK guys do. I wish I kept one of them and had it in the hose as art now. Live and learn.

that is an absolutely gorgeous Ducati!! Always loved the 999 but could never afford to have one..

I had two K6 GSXR 1000 which are the same as the K5 and yes they are the best bikes I've ever owned or ridden. My first one ended up becoming a track bike with some reasonable mods and I nearly went with the 16.5 inch wheels. Had better rad and oil coolers, better gearing, lighter and chain and sprockets, race loom, cams, port work, ohlins suspension internals front and rear, major weight reduction, better more adjustable slipper clutch, Brembo front calipers, super light weight lithium battery. It ended up not much over 150kg with oil, coolant and 5-6 litres of fuel. Major major regrets selling it.

I once had a lot more cars and bikes but many of them were for the sake of collecting and I got to the point I wasn't enjoying it and sold almost all them. What I have now is stuff I actually really like. Yes I do still buy and sell but my collection pretty much follows the current theme.

I love everything about that display.  Basically runs literally top to bottom like a "best of" selection of my favorite aircraft and science fiction designs.  B-70, Refit Enterprise, F-106, F-14, YF-19, and VF-1.. only thing missing for me would be an X-Wing. ^_^

Which Enterprise version is that by the way?  Looks a little like one of the diamond select ones, but it seems brighter white than the ones I have.  Might just be the display lighting washing it out.

Not so much a fan of Star Wars so I don't have any of the ships.. I do like them though.

Can't remember what brand the Enterprise is but it is the 1701A. Maybe the Undiscovered Country movie version..

Where'd you get the giant Makise from?

Can't really remember actually.. I've had her for a while now. Possible ebay?

She's not actually tall.. the camera angle skewed the image a bit and that she's right up against the glass. She's about 20cm tall.

I still love that XB-70 up top @spanner

Yeah they are my all time favorite plane and not just because of the name! LOL! Especially the second prototype with its cantered wings. A shame it was lost in a crash.

I think I was 12yrs old when I saw one of these at the air force museum in I think it's Dayton, OH. I was completely blown away and obsessed about it. It's numbers are ludicrous.

I would absolutely love to see this thing in the flesh! Such an amazing machine!

    Hey Spanner,

    Welcome back (partially).

i hope the rekindle of your love for Macross doesn’t cost you a leg and thigh.

    :D

Thanks! Hehe! Too late! Kinda already has! Especially when paying so late for pre orders and excessively hiked up post release prices..

    Thanks NY..

Always love your displays @spanner :good:

Thanks mate! Would certainly be nice to grow my Macross collection again to something reasonable but not to the extreme of what I once had..

  8. My DX YF-19 arrived this afternoon! I really missed having one of these! So so good to have another again! Gorgeous bird!

From once having over 140 Valkyries and then to zero (pardon the pun) im now back up to three! And hopefully many more after that!

There's a long long road ahead!
